I'm thinking about getting Hydroxycut. I know it's not natural and basically legal speed. But maybe it will help with my energy, which will help with my motivation, which will have me doing more than sitting on the couch eating chips and crying about how my jeans don't fit...
I'm with you. I can't do diet pills due to a heart arrhythmia I have which gets worse with things like that. I did buy some advocare spark to replace my cup of coffee or coke I have at work when I hit the wall at 3 am. I'm hoping that helps a little bit.

My mom is a nurse and worked nights for years and said 3 am is the worst! What is in the "spark" that isn't caffeine? I need energy boosts in the afternoon, but I'm really sensitive to caffeine and try to avoid it after 2 pm or in up all night.
I'm supposed to take potato salad for a BBQ for college students tomorrow. Make homemade or buy at store? I'm the president of the board, so I feel like it would be judge-worthy if I don't make it :/ But, baby.

Morning ladies! I dropped K off at the base hourly care and went to the gym. I thought I would be able to enjoy a couple of baby free hours but nope... I have been working the whole time.
I do some freelance/contracting work in the area of auditing expenses and creating expense reports for a company expanding into the US. The sales people whose expenses I review are seeming to not understand what kind of expenses are ok and that if you don't have receipts you can't get reimbursed. It's making things take longer than they should. I enjoy the extra hours I will be able to bill for but really was looking forward to some time alone.

I ate 3 donuts in the car on the way to work, so I didn't have enough to share with coworkers. But my 3 remaining donuts in the car isn't enough to share with people at home. So logic tells me to just eat them to hide the evidence.

All this week we have HR professionals coming in to work with the clients on marketing themselves, and I am really not looking forward to having to manage these temporary volunteers. I think they ought to manager themselves or someone else should be in charge this week.
jeniece47 I can relate. Especially when I first started my practice, it felt like I worked all the time instead of part time, and still never got anything done. I highly recommend setting "office hours." I still work other times as needed (like most days, sadly), but it actually makes me feel better knowing that if it can wait until 2 or 3 when I go to the office, then I will have time to work on it then. Also, get it girl making money!
So here's the gem from the MIL visit on Saturday: She brought over a pack of Oreos. DH said thanks but we are really trying to eat healthy so please take them home with you. MIL said she had bought them for F and then proceeded to hand F an Oreo! DH grabbed it and said some choice words and reminded MIL that we are not giving F sweets or sugars or highly processed foods. MIL laughed, said F will be just fine, and handed her another Oreo. This woman is not doing herself any favors.
Your MIL is crazy! At least it sounds like DH is on your side.

I love it! That's my logic, too. If it's less than one per person, I must eat all of them so no ones feelings are hurt.

Definitely buy at store. The only reason I would make homemade is because I'm cheap and store bought is usually more expensive. But in terms of people judging for not making home made, I wouldn't care. That's how I roll though.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a free grocery list or meal planning app?
sabby2, I like our groceries. It's just a list app though but I use it for everything! (i.e. questions to ask pediatrician at LO's next visit etc.) What I usually do each weekend is browse www.allrecipes.com and pick meals based on protein. Then based on the recipe, I add ingredients to my grocery list if I don't have it in my pantry so that I know what to get at the store.

Buy it from the store and then transfer it to your own tupperware or serving dish or whatever. I doubt anyone will question it lol

I peeked in on TTA/Bench, but I don't think that's the board for me because they don't want you to talk about your living children. I understand why, but I always talk about my kids, so I'll pass. But I think I'm too far out from TTC to start posting there. I'll just stick with my notches here.

GUISE. I went to my car and finished off the donuts for lunch. Sitting in my car made them all soft and warm and OMG they were like fried clouds from heaven with a fresh-made taste rather than being stale and crusty, having been made like 8 hours ago.
I cannot recommend enough eating your donut warm.
I do not, however, recommend eating a whole half-dozen donuts by yourself. I hate myself just a teensy bit.

Lol, see I wouldn't even bother with faking it. If someone is going to judge me for not making homemade potato salad then so be it. I just think that women are way too judgmental of other women and that we should feel comfortable taking "shortcuts" if we have to. I'm a perfectionist and this is something I am becoming more aware of, that sometimes it's ok for something to be good enough and not everything has to be 100% perfect all the time.
Sorry if I turned this into a serious topic. I admit that I could also be biased because the one time I made potato salad at home, DH said that he preferred the store bought stuff anyway.
Now I'm going to be a double AW by putting this in the right thread. I'm sending my grandma a four generation picture for her birthday. We got them taken in May before we moved.

Don't worry at all about making it serious! I appreciate your feedback. I was the uber-domestic goddess before DS and it's been hard to do any of it with him, especially now that he's mobile. In part I miss it because it's what I identify as "me," but I don't really feel like doing it anymore most of the time. It's hard accepting the "new me" that doesn't do everything I used to do. My mom keeps reminding me that I will do those things again when he's older, and I think I cling to it for that reason. I also think people have really unrealistic expectations of working moms, I try not to promote those by complying blindly. Verdict: store bought. In the store container.

I'm working on designing save the dates for DH's cousin and it is super difficult with a mobile baby. Apparently they want me to design everything for their wedding in April because they loved the work I did for BIL last year. I'm excited because I love doing this kind of thing and I'm really flattered but it's going to be a challenge with this kid!
