I know I can't always remember who asked what or who mentioned an upcoming event but I do like hearing how it turned out so share.
DD is still having an excessive amount of poop explosions in huggies and pampers, size 3s and 4s,swaddlers and cruisers. I think the solids might be helping so I am going to hold out for another month before we seriously consider cloth.
I did kind of share this already but I thought I would put it here too. Everyone was here for DD's baptism a few weeks ago and it went well. The ILs did makes it, all my good was a hit, DD was great during the baptism fil was good the entire weekend. We did find out his prostate cancer has come back post surgery he is getting radiation treatments now and they are optimistic that other than monitoring that will be the last we hear of it. So prayers that that is the case.

aggiebug, best wishes to your FIL that he kicks cancer's butt a (second?) time! I'll light a candle for his quick recovery. I'm glad LO's baptism went well and that everyone could come (I know I said that already but you know, new thread, new happiness).

I don't know if anyone remembers but I posted way back about having a piece of retained placenta. I still do and will be having surgery in the next month or two to finally get it removed

Ugh. So sorry. Will everything be better/back to normal after surgery?

Wow I didn't know they would wait so long. I was thinking about that a month or so ago but I presumed you had it taken care of an I missed it. Sorry you are still dealing with it.

babycfeb2015, I hope the surgery goes well! How did you know you have retained placenta? Are you feeling unwell? What are the symptoms? That sounds sucky, Sorry to hear it Quick recovery!

misshart00 it should be! As long as there are no complications. Future pregnancys will probably be monitered closer since I guess it has a higher chance of happening again
aggiebug they like to wait as long as possible to give it time to shrink down and possibly come out on its own. Since mine hasn't really changed in size in a few months or come out on its own they said I can schedule the surgery whenever is convenient. Since we EBF and he rarely gets bottles I wanted to wait until he's getting a little more solids and my stash is strong. Of course he hates all solids so far so Im just going to schedule it and work on the bottles from now until then

The only reason I knew is because of post partum bleeding issues-I havent had any signs or symptoms since about 3 months ppd. Its monitered by a specialist every 6 wks or so.
If anyone watched keeping up with the kardashians Kim actually had the exact same thing and that was the reason she couldn't get pregnant again. Since shes good and pregnant now Ill take that as a sign I will also have no issues once its removed
Months ago I posted about LO having a lump beside her eye. People suggested that I should go to the dr. Well, I didn't. After a lot of googling I figured it was probably a cyst. At her 4 month apt the dr confirmed it was a cyst and we would just keep an eye on it. At 6 months its a tiny bit bigger. We are still keeping an eye on it but it will need to be removed at some point.
So we will see where its at next apt and maybe get a referral.
I think miniwheat's LO was seeing a specialist for plagiocephaly? How did it go?
Yes! The appointment is tomorrow. Thanks for remembering! We are nervous and really excited to see what the assessment will say. We hope that he won't need anything and his head and eyes will correct themselves, but we are ready and willing to get him casted for a helmet ASAP if that is what is needed. I will keep you guys posted later on tomorrow. We have a 5am start tomorrow to make it to downtown Toronto by 8am!

Norah's potty training went well except that about 1-2 times a day she goes a little bit in her undies before she gets on the potty. I call them dew drops. I think time will remedy this. She's dry at night too (or calls for us to go potty) which is amazing.
My dad is on week 3 of chemo and radiation. Doing well so far. The tumor has shrunk enough so he can eat normally again. At the end of this week or next his throat will start bothering him more from radiation. Otherwise he is doing well!
My update is about maggot man. He came home, never apologised or thanked me (either would do, really), and left again... Faith in humanity, lost.
I feel like I need a reminder of the backstory here.
A few weeks ago i suddenly had maggots in my kitchen. After tearing up carpet, skirting boards, floorboards, panels (you name it) disinfecting the whole downstairs they just kept coming so we suspected my neighbours house... neughbour was nowhere to be found so via-via i got in contact with his ex wife. we went in to his house half expecting to find him there, dead. There we found a decomposing dead cat and the room was FULL of maggots. It took us hours to clean it. The neighbour had gone on vacation and the cat must have snuck in to the house right before he left :/

aggiebug how's Aspen? Did I miss this in a spam thread?
Aspen is still limping but not as bad. I am keeping her on NSAIDs for the moment and trying to keep her quiet (food time is hard lol). I am hoping to take her to the clinic soon to talk to my old boss since he would be doing the surgery. But surgery would still be a ways off since I now need to get a mass out of Titus's mouth and possibly extract her tooth first. Oyi.

So dissapointed with this update I mean, he has to acknowledge that it actually happened at some point right? You can't forget to say something after your neighbor and ex-wife found a maggot riddled dead animal in your house. I'd go out of my way to make eye contact and start up a conversation. Make it super awkward for him.
We are back! DS had his assessment for his plagiocephaly and he was recommended for a cranial molding helmet!
He is plagiocephaly (flat spot on the side of his head), brachycephaly (flat back of the head) and cranial vaulting (peaking on the top of his head). He was put through a baby scanner to get a 3D model of his head face and neck and it was sent away to have a hemet made. It will be ready in 2 weeks and we will be on the road to a more normal shaped head soon! His head is wider ear to ear than it is nose to back, so I am really, really glad we are going this route. Since it's been there since birth, it was unlikely it would improve on its on after 6 months.

That's great news! As I mentioned before, my friends LO had a helmet as well. She had to wear it for 23 hrs a day for 3 months and it made a huge difference. She had no issues with it as she got used to wearing it all the time so it was no big deal.

This makes me happy to read. I am glad kids have had really good results and the adjustment period to the helmet isn't too long or hard. Thanks!

miniwheat, I know someone who's son wore a helmet for about three months and had great results as well. No prolonged issues. His Mom said sometimes in public (mostly older) people made comments about the helmet, but she brushed them off.
I'm glad things are on the right path and everything is set in motion!

I agree with this. People are naturally going to be curious and I've seen people inquire in a polite way (asking if it's protective or corrective) and in a totally rude and inappropriate way.

Miniwheat-- glad to hear the prognosis for your LO is good. J had to wear leg braces for 10 weeks which got a lot of side eyes, but people were genuinely kind and concerned more than anything. I hope you have the same experience.
