I thought we could start a weekly check in for people looking to get into shape! Whether you were in shape pre-baby or you are starting a totally new journey, you go here!
Goal: I have 19 more lbs until pre preggo weight and then I really need to lose another 35-40lbs on top of that. But the 19lbs is my first goal!
Week high: I lost 3 lbs this week! Hopefully this keeps up!
Week low: I had to go up two Jean sizes from pre pregnancy when I went shopping last week.. That hurt the ego a bit. It's hard to remember that you just had a baby when you are staring in the change room mirror and nothing fits!
Goal for this upcoming week: Exercise 3 times and no mall food. I've been walking the mall recently because it's been so hot but I always wind up stopping in the food court. Bad Lemon!
GTKY: I want to be able to be an active parent with my daughter. I also want to gain more self confidence so I can model some self love for her later on!
Week high: lunch yesterday was a turkey sandwich, a small amount of chips, and lots of grapes. Healthiest lunch I've had in weeks.
Week low: snacking on ice cream. Twice. In one day.
Goal for next week: Limit to one morning snack and one afternoon snack. This working from home thing is killing my self-control because the kitchen is right there.
GTKY: I didn't really gain that much weight with Amelia for obvious reasons, but my weight has redistributed and I don't like where it ended up: right around my stomach. I've been trying to lose weight for a long time, but I'm fighting a lack of time, hypothyroidism, slow metabolism, and also it is way too hot and I have temperature regulation issues.
Goal: to lose the remaining 4 lbs, but mostly to tone up my now flabby belly. Also, I suffered from pretty bad IBS-D pre-pregnancy (intolerance to fructose, lactose and galactans) but that nearly disappeared while pregnant. Hoping that doesn't all return, and that I can live a more food-normal life.
Week high: I finally cooked dinner last night! We were lacking in veggies so I walked to the produce store with LO, and for dinner cooked onion, broccoli, red pepper, and barley with soyaki and almonds.
Week low: 2 days of indigestion because H's in- laws so generously brought a sour cream chicken pasta dish and banana Nutella ice cream. Yum, but ugh.
Goal for the next week: to eat more vegetables, and spend some time walking every day.
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? I'd like to feel good about my body, and be able to eat healthy foods without destroying my insides and becoming housebound. While nursing, I especially don't want to be on a limited diet.
Goal: Overall, I just want to feel good. My concerte goal is to fit into all of my clothes again within a reasonable amount of time (Christmas would be great). I'm 10 lbs. away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'd be happy with gaining some muscle, so I'm not going to stick to that number.
Week high: I'm finally not bleeding and I was cleared by my OB to exercise, so I can go swimming again! I'vehad enough energy for lots of dance parties with the kids and I able to pick all of them up.
Week low: Irrational anxiety stuff.
Goal for the next week: Go swimming at least once - 1000 meters.
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? I'm hoping the exercise will help with PPD. I want to be a good partner to H, who has been trying to lose weight. I want to fit into my clothes so it takes less time to get dressed. I want to feel good about myself, enough that it affects my mood and how I parent my kids.
Golas: short-term-keep eating well, I've been craving lots of fruits and veggies so that is good; long-term-lose the rest of the weight I gained during pregnancy...already down at least 22 lbs, so only about 25 to go...yeah, I really packed it on
Week high: getting out for walks every day; having sunny weather has helped, obviously; also turning down cinnamon buns from my mom and an offer from a friend to bring me ice cream (sweets are my downfall)
Week low: buying shorts from Target without trying them on; I thought for sure they'd be big enough but they weren't
Goal for the next week: keep doing what I'm doing; after the initial large weight loss (birth/additional fluid in the 1st couple weeks), I seem to be losing 1-2 lbs per week, which is great, I may also try to do some very light yoga but I'm trying to wait until my 6 week appt to start anything else
GTKY: I feel so much better being in shape, health and fitness are really important parts of my life, it's my "normal"

I am only 2 weeks PP so not trying to DO a whole lot yet, but need to start thinking about how to make fitness (my number one hobby) fit into life with baby.
Goal: run a half marathon before end of year (in Texas so quite a few December options)
Week high: just getting adequate rest and eating 3 healthy meals a day!
Week low: made cookies yesterday. Ate many of them.
Goal for the next week: take baby for walks as weather allows - aim for 20 Min per day
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? Fitness is always one of my top priorities, currently running but I probably need to try something new before boredom sets in. I am uncoordinated and have pretty terrible asthma, so I look at this as a way to prove I can be athletic, it is something I have to work very hard for but makes me endlessly proud. Also helps keep away the depression monsters and helps me meet new people. Going on 9 months here and still no good friends, this it's so important to me right now!
Goal: Finish an entire program. It's a toss up between 21 Day Fix and PiYo. (DH is a Beachbody "coach", so we have a ton of these programs and to be fair they work if you do them). I lost all the pregnancy weight in 2 weeks (MIRACLE) but I had gained a lot before getting KU. I'd like to lose enough to not need to shop in a different store, if that makes sense.
Week high: eating like crap but haven't really put on much weight. Thank you BFing
Week low: I was supposed to start my workout on Sunday and still have yet to start it :/
Goal for the next week: Have started a program and done all the days to that point PLUS start eating better.
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now?: Because I'm honestly to the point where I'm having to shop in different stores sometimes and they are more expensive than my usual places. Also I'd like to have some body confidence back.

Goal: To get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and fit into all my clothes again... Hopefully by Christmas. By summer I want to be toned and have abs, the whole 9 yards.
Week high: Joined a volleyball league starting in a few weeks.
Week low: Too much pizza this weekend. Threw out a bunch of produce that went bad because I didn't get around to eating it.
Goal for the next week: Really trying to eat healthy (and to eat meals throughout the day), but it's so hard working around LO. I'd like to lose a pound.
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? Trying to get back to where I was so I feel like myself again. I want to feel confident and healthy and I also just want to look good.
abvintage, I have Turbo Jam and am hoping to do it a few times this week! Do you know of any other beginner/not insanity DVDs that are worth it?
I really liked Turbo Fire and 21 Day Fix is great because if you do the eating plan it's amazing ( I did it once before and lost 7 lbs!). You have to stick to the eating plan for 21 Day Fix for it to work. I've lost a lot of muscle strength so I want to start with PiYo and then do ChaLEAN Extreme so I can put on muscle and get strong. I've heard GREAT things about the Chalene programs!

Goal: long term- get back to the best shape I was in last spring, short term- fit back into my prepregnancy clothes
Week high: I got out several times to walk 3 miles last week. Woo!
Week low: I bought a tub of frozen yogurt. Oops. Also I've been snacking entirely too much.
Goal for next week: get out and walk every day for at least 2 miles. Aim for 2 days where I walk 5 miles at least.
GTKY: I need need need to fit back into all my old clothes before the weather changes. I can't afford to buy a new wardrobe! Lol. Also, I miss being in shape. I miss being able to see my muscles in my arms and abs and legs and being able to lift crazy stupid weight and feel strong. I hate how I'm holding my daughter for 20 min and my arms hurt bc I'm so weak now. Or walking for an hour and my legs hurt. Weeeeaaak.

My sister recommended I wait until Dec/Jan to really try to lose the rest of the weight and I was like "no way, I can't wear maternity pants until then." And I also can't afford to buy all new clothes for when I go back to work in Nov.

Goal: to lose the last 15 pounds and reach my pre-preg weight. Most importantly though to combat anxiety and ppd.
Week high: we were at the beach on vacation last week so I walked a lot! I was still sore and my pelvis felt so achy but I tried to rest when I could and it really felt good to be active!
Week low: sweets. All the sweets! My anxiety has also been very high.
Goal for the next week: start the C25k program to get myself back into running
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? To reduce anxiety and help me be a better mom. I am the kind of person that needs to exercise to feel my best.

DH told me to take it easy and not to stress about it. I was like oh you want to take me shopping for new pants and shirts and sweaters the ? And he was like oh. Um. I'll help watch E whenever you want to go workout sweetie.
Goal: three workouts a week, 5 lbs to next weight loss goal, 30 lbs to lose overall
Week high: not one so far, really
Week low: I tried to run Monday and peed myself twice. I also had gained a pound. Sigh.
Goal for next week: 3 workouts, including an hour body attack class
GTKY: I just want to get back to where I was pre-pregnancy. I wasn't super skinny or anything, but it was prob the best shape I've been in.
Your week high is that you tried to go for a run! It's better than not! At least you tried to get moving! Good job!! This week maybe you'll be able to get a little further without peeing (haha)!!
Goal: short term - gain back strength (especially in my abs after my C section) and fit in the clothes I was wearing before this pregnancy. Long term - fit in my clothes from before I was pregnant with DS.
Week high: Got outside and ran around with my toddler. Also finally started picking him up again - I figure lifting 30 pounds will help with strength training!
Week low: We were running errands on Sunday and I had ice cream for lunch and pizza for dinner whike we were out.
Goal for the next week: Hopefully get cleared for real exercise at my 6 week PP appointment.
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? So I can keep up withy kids!

Goal: Exercise 3 times this week. I'm 2 weeks pp so that includes light abdominal and pelvic floor work plus a good long walk wearing baby.
Week high: I had a healthy supper last night and I have a healthy supper planned for tonight.
Week low: I'm bad about forgetting to eat and then filling up on junk later. Also need to be better about my water intake.
Goal for the next week: Exercise 3 times again and slowly increase the length of our walks!
GTKY: Why are you looking to get fit now? After DD1 I took control of my health after 2 years of treating myself poorly. I loved being an active Mom once I got motivated. I can tell it rubbed off on her because she loves to show off how strong she is! She keeps me motivated and pushing harder because I know she, and now her sister, are watching!
Goal: fit back in my PP clothes. Im avoiding the scale until my pp check up, didnt want to make myself crazy while trying to get a good nursing routine.
Week high: lots of energy back and feel like im eating pretty well for being home all day.
Week low: except I had mac n cheese for lunch today...
Goal for next week: need to get moving more. LO sleeps every morning from 6-9 hoping to make at least 30 min of that my workout time.
GTKY: I'd just like to be back to fitting in clothes and have some muscle tone and get back to dance classes by october.

Thanks! Although I'm pretty sure by the speed I was gaining it and how skinny my ankles look now, that a good chunk of that was swelling and water weight.
Yeah I'm pretty sure a good 10-15 lbs was water weight for me. I'm down 33!
