I also feel like they are back peddling. They didn't realize what they were getting themselves into when they started all of this. There has been a much bigger backlash than they could have imagined. The bans were unjustified and they know it.

Just wait until someone uses harsh language or threats to see if they will actually enforce what they are supposed to. (Both are in TOU)

The thing is, although they haven't changed the TOU themselves, they've clearly changed how they're interpreting, implementing and enforcing the TOU.

The TOU, for example, have always stated, as a rule: "No harassing, intimidating, stalking, or threatening other community members."

With the new definition of a "personal attack" under the current "guidelines," the terms "harassing" and "intimidating" seem much, much different now than they did a mere 48 hours ago.

I'll be honest, it's fucking hard to change the TOU. There's legal stuff in there that they'd have to pay a lawyer to review, if they really wanted to be thorough -- and who the hell wants to deal with lawyers?

So they've changed the TOU without actually changing the TOU.

Wow!! Does this mean they are reinstating some of the banned members? Not sure they will want to come back thoig, you think? Or they will to prove a point and take back what has been built over the years?

I had almost exact same thoughts telos. I remember TTGP going through very specific examples with our mods, and things we were told were okay a couple months ago are clearly now not okay per the updated guidelines.

Just went to TB and read the post....8 think there are going to be lots of people loosing their balls once all the "regs" come back. They will be back ununder their rocks hiding, too scarescared to make a post anymore about things being "stupistupid and immature". And perhaps there won't be 10000 repeat posts!!
