I have a charity event I'm on the committee for tonight and woo, I get to drink wine and eat pastries and get all pretty! I bought a new dress and pulled out high heels I don't get to wear with H since they make me taller than him (& it's weird to me, not him).

I only have to get through today (full day) and a 2 hour meeting tomorrow morning before its weekend time! So pumped to have (almost) 3 whole days off with my girl!!

You know your office has a lot of nursing moms when said moms get an email letting you know they are opening a second room to pump in. Currently when looking at the calendar to reserve the room is like playing a game because its that full!

That's crazy!! I work in a WIC office so we have a special Breast Feeding room that is available to clients as well as staff but luckily I've never had a problem getting in to use it! That's awesome that they are opening up another room for you, I don't envy having to actually schedule a time to pump!

It does suck. I have 2 times scheduled from now until the end of the year... there have been some days (like today) That i am able to nurse DD before leave in the morning so i dont always have to use my first session.  And i try to fit another morning on in if at all possible!  

The one that is the "official" one has a sink in it, the other one is just an empty office.  But still nice they are opening it up for us!

My mouth hurts so bad today from my root canal. I just took some Advil and really hope it kicks in fast. Also stayed up until 4am cleaning last night. Hoping to finish today! My apartment is a mess because I hate it so much I haven't been caring much about it. Finally realized how much it was bothering me!

I think I got 9 hours of sleep last night! It was interrupted only 3 times (which is an improvement over the last two weeks!) and O is still sleeping in his swing. DH told me to start trying to put O to bed earlier so I can have a functional amount of sleep next week when I go back to work.

It's my sister's birthday so Owen and I are going to pick up delicious cupcakes and will take them to her at work. She owns her own business so I cleared it with her partner but told her to keep it a surprise.

Then if Owen takes a good nap this afternoon (which hasn't happened in at least 3 weeks) I'll work some more on lesson planning for next week.

I'm still trying to figure out where I'll pump at one of my schools. I have my own classroom so I could lock the doors and put a note up. That is a special needs school inside of a general education school. There are 2 principals. My principal is fantastic. The other principal is crazy. I can easily imagine her finding the note and barging into my room to see why I think it's okay to tell people to not bother me.

Also, one of my students at the special needs school passed away last Thursday. On the bus. On the way to school. His sweet little heart just gave out. The students are severe to profound special needs and are all medically fragile meaning that it isn't really unexpected but is still painful. I am not looking forward to seeing his class and knowing that there is an empty spot for him.

Went to my first PTO meeting last night. Signed up to work the bobbing for apples group at the fall festival while thinking, is this really my life? Then realized that between my current kindergartener and the baby I will be involved at this elementary school for the next 11 years.

Got up this morning and cleaned since the cleaners are coming today. Planning to go to Target while they are here; already looking forward to Starbucks.

I saw the headline but couldn't bring myself to read the story especially with my Mom/Teacher heart. I'm sure I'll get more details when I'm back at work next week but I know everyone is heartbroken. He was such a sweet boy. He smiled all the time and just loved music (my class).

We had a pancake breakfast at the kids' daycare today. I invited MIL and FIL invited himself (a HUGE surprise to all of us) and DS had a blast. We pulled up to daycare and he saw FIL and said, "Pop at my school! Get me out first momma!" He just sat at the table giggling seeing everyone there.

I've decided to start looking for a new pediatrician. I'm really not liking mine. It's the same practice I went to as a kid but I feel like all the information they give me is wit wrong or outdated.
1. They told me not to swaddle.... Yeah that lasted not at all.
2. They want me to start feeding food at 3.5-4 months.
3. They want me to stop breast milk and switch to formula at 6 monhs(that was enough for me to start looking for a new)
4. Knew nothing about baby led weaning(and I just wanted information I haven't committed to anything yet)
There's more but those are my main reasons. Sorry just needed to vent about my stupid dr.

oh and I spent this morning washing a two hundred year old christening gown because when my BIL and SIL used it five years ago they got formula on it and didn't wash it....

I have my first clog today... trying to work it out right now... I'm scared! I had constant clogs with G a few years back, which ultimately led to horrible mastitis/week long hospital stay. I've felt so lucky that I haven't had any so far this time around, now... Fingers crossed!! I'm just getting over a round of mastitis now (in my other boob), so hoping I can keep things in check!

+1 to this. I can just imagine the "are you crazy?" looks I would give anyone telling me to do those things with my baby!

jessila, So sorry to hear that, how sad.

DH got up with DD1 this morning before work. He changed her, fed her breakfast, and made me coffee. I feel a bit better about this day now! My car is in the shop so I'm stuck at home all day with both kids... wish me luck. My 2 year old has way too much energy and it's too cold to do much outside.

Thanks guys. My parents are being super judgmental and not supportive at all. It is the practice in the hospital that my dad works in and he is friends with a bunch of the Drs. They keep telling me to stop looking at the Internet. I'm sorry it is kind of know that you aren't supposed to feed a 3.5-4 month old anything but BM and Formula. What!? I pretty much told my parents to STFU

I can't stop eating today. I ate a bag of those mini rice cakes, and on Thursdays our special ed students sell cookies, so I ate those too. Now I'm eating disgusting potato skin chips, but I can't stop! Maybe I'm going through a growth spurt too...

Along these lines, my sister who is due in Feb brought me a book given to her by a friend to read. It's such bad advice it seems like it's from the 50s but I looked and it was first published in 1997. Some extracts for 3 months (which I skipped to): feed your baby juice in the afternoon (no idea why), sit baby in a chair for 10 minutes at bed time so you can wander around the house and tidy up. Whaaaat? Just walk off on her and see how long it takes for her to fall? The sleep advice is terrible too: DO NOT feed baby after 3.15pm until dinner. What if she's screaming hungry? Nope.

I don't know that I would have said anything to her-she sounded a little unstable talking to children that way and was already upset over having to watch them, it wouldn't have been a productive conversation.  She for sure would have gotten a look from me as well.

I'm busy packing everything to leave my parents house and my mom is watching Owen (2ys old) and I asked her to put sunscreen on him before he plays outside

Then I hear my son say 'grandma I think you are putting toothpaste all over me'.

Yes she put toothpaste all over his arms and legs!!!!
