I need to keep track so I can see if we have a schedule HA. Right now he is on demand and I feel like the demand is high some days! I pump one side while he eats from the other as often as I can so I have a small stash to give my nipples a break. Going to start charting the times he eats song can try to get more relief over night. Wish me luck!
No set schedule yet, but thinking the beginning of October I will work on one for myself to get some semblance of a morning routine started so we are getting both kids up and ready for daycare at a decent time so neither of us are working ridiculously late. Hopefully she will start sleeping longer stretches overnight here soon to help.
We are on a 3-4 hour eating schedule for the most part. Every day there will be a few that are 1-2hours apart. I can feed on demand and the little booger has gone hours during the day but never at night.
My favorite is 12, 3, 6, 9 (etc.) mainly because I like bedtime to be around 9:30 so I go to bed too.
We haven't had those times since last week though. We are setting up rituals. Day is day and night is night and business.

Schedule? Ha! I feed on demand and try to read her cues as to whether she wants to play or needs a nap. The only thing that seems to be consistent is her being wide awake after feedings in the MOTN.
I think I'm in the minority here. I'm not attempting any kind of schedule until mid November. From what I understand, babies don't need a routine until 3-4 months. And while I would greatly benefit from one, I have no interest in battling a newborn about it. But it sounds like some of you are implementing a schedule sooner and it is working! I just know myself and if I try to force it to soon and it backfires, it will cause me too much stress. So right now, this little baby runs the show. Just wait till this fourth trimester is up LO...
All of these people doing Eat Play Sleep, do you nurse to sleep?
At night if he needs it but not during the day. So when it close to 9:30/10 I may nurse him before the nap cycle because it'll be his long stretch for the night.
During the day he doesn't need to because he kind of just ate, then "played" then it's nap time. I do rock him to sleep which creates another sleep association but I'm also trying to put him down while drowsy.
Starting tomorrow morning I'll wake up at 5 to shower, bet dressed, pump, and then wake Miles up. I'm hoping this will give him time to adjust his wake up time in the middle of the night.

I tried the EPS, today and ut was easier than i thought it would be to get him to sleep, only problem, 2nd nap couldn't wake him, i tried to do everything that wakes him, i even sat down and had a snack and finished making dinner, his two favorite times to wake n fuss. I was literally yelling, Nelson, i am spooning out some yougurt, Nelson, mamma is relaxing.

We're on a 3ish hour eat play sleep (3 hours from start of one meal to the next). She falls asleep in her bouncer.
Ready for bed between.8/8:30, swaddle, gripe water, suck out her nose if she needs it, nurse to sleep (sometime both sides if my supply is down by that time). We give her a bath 1-2 nights a week.

Why did you want to wake him? How old is your LO?
5w i try to feed every 3 hours during the day. Prlly not necessary, as he is huge already. He wants to sleep all day and party at night like a rock star. He isnt fussy just too alert for 2am. I go back to work in less than a month am trying to get a routine going. Irony is he will probably sleep a solid 4 hours when i do go back because he will mostly be in carsear from 2:30-5, while i drive school bus.

Trying to figure out a schedule to start establishing in the next week or two. I'm trying to come up with one that will work with my work schedule (pumping on my lunch break and not having to pump right before I leave or right after I get there). So far, L eats every 2-3 hours and sleeps about 4 hours at night.
I try eat, play, sleep, but most of the time, J wants to eat a little before he goes back to sleep, so it's more like eat, play, eat, sleep.
this is us too. I try to fill him up when he eats during the day so he doesn't associate food with falling asleep but sometimes he refuses to fall asleep without a small snack no matter how tired he is.

are you swaddling before rocking, i seem to forget and then have to start over with tge rocking, i would have never known about eps if it weren't for this board, but it is nothing short of miracle as far as i am concerned. It's only day three but he seems to be tsking to it well, its also nice too feel like things arent so up in the air. Ie. "Do i whip tit out, or no."
When you guys say they're going 3 hours between feeds is it 3 hours from start to start or three hours from end of one to start of the other?
Also, what are you guys doing during "play"? We usually play on the piano mat but she only tolerates that for about 10 minutes. We'll walk around the house or go on a walk sometimes.
Sometimes I feel like I'm counting the minutes until it's acceptable to put her in her bouncer for nap.

Start to start.
We do the piano mat, tummy time, go for a walk, play with toys, read books, take a bath. He definitely has a tiny attention span so we go from one thing to another quickly. Oh, he also loves laying on a blanket outside and listening/looking around. I talk to him as much as possible during these times too, until he starts showing signs of being tired then we shut it down right away.
ETA: sometimes I am super ready for naptime too, I think that is OK
I haven't started a bedtime routine and I have 6 more weeks to get it together before going back to work.
I have no clue! My older daughter was going to bed around 8/8:30 at 10 weeks. My guy is almost 10 weeks and he's still going to bed at 10pm. My goal is an 8/8:30 bedtime after daylight savings, so I'm going to try to get it to 9 this month sometime.

dang. Forgot about daylight saving time. It's such a life ruiner.

We typically give Liam a bath and then put him to bed around 9 or 10. It's the only routine we have right now that is pretty consistent.
Not sure what I'm going to do when I go back to work, as neither one of us gets home until at least 11pm. I really treasure this routine (its one of the few times he's not Cranky McAngerton). Push it back, I guess?
Am I the only one who has no schedule whatsoever during the day?? Sometimes it's 3 hours between feedings, sometimes it's 1, sometimes it's 4! Sometimes he takes a lot of naps, sometimes he barely naps. It's driving me fucking batty!
Luckily his nights have become somewhat regular.
Me! I just do whatever needs to be done when it needs to be done. Eventually, a real schedule will develop but I'm not super worried about it.

Nope, same here! The only regular thing with this baby is she usually (hope I'm not jinxing myself here) sleeps a straight 6 hour stretch at night....could be from 11pm-5am, or it could be from 1am-7am like it was last night. Everything else is a crap shoot from day to day.

How many have babies who regularly go four hours between feedings during the day (we're breast feeding, not sure that matters). My pedi discouraged it, but at almost 11 weeks and 13+ pounds, if she seems to trend toward that I should just go with it, right? Most days it's only once that she'll take a long nap and push the four hour mark, sonetimes twice, but I'm always waking her at four hours. This is after a 2-2.5 hour nap. Waking her to eat every three hours would just be rude right?
She was 6lb14oz at birth, 6lb5oz at discharge, 12lbs13oz at 2 months. Clearly she is not lacking in calories. She said it would help her sleep better at night but we've started getting a 6-7 hour stretch. So just go with my gut, right?
