I think that you can still get shingles with the vaccine. I remember discussing this before.

That's awful! I still remember having them in Kindergarten and it's been 27 years! I can't imagine 3 times.

I may be wrong, but something about how the vaccine introduces the virus into your bloodstream. It does reduce the severity and liklihood though. So it probably wouldn't have been so bad.

I still have scars from chicken pox. I had them on the bottom of my feet. There was no vaccine then, obviously. My friend got it and my mom actually sent me to her house so I'd get it and then my sister would get it.

I made one mom friend in my area. She led the mom group I joined. Then I found out she doesn't vax. We are no longer friends. Even if someone told me there is no risk by being around her kid, I just don't want to be around someone that stupid. I stopped hanging out in the mom group because no one seemed to think it was a big deal that she didn't believe in science. I saw a report on Al Jazeera this week that one of the largest segments of unvaccinated children are with the upper/middle class. Considering where I live, this makes me incredibly nervous.
