I'd definitely ask about doing an EPP vs BCP suppression.


AFM, I've got 9 follies in the 10-13 range. Another 20 in the 8-10 range. Just waiting to see where my estrogen is at. I'm not holding out hope for this cycle though.

lemonliz I'm sorry, you're obviously a strong lady and keeping a happy face but I know it's disappointing I feel like our situations were somewhat similar although I'm on mobile so can't see your siggy. I did BC for four weeks instead of the usual three because of xmas (I wonder if extra time over suppresses?) maybe a higher dose of the meds would do the trick for you. You were on less than half of what they started me on (Max dose due to DOR and low AMH) They started me at 225 of each per day --450 total. 150 menopur and 75 gonal f am and flip flop that for pm). There definitely seems like there is room to improve and tweak the doses since you were on a relatively low dose to start. Good luck with the IUI however!! That's a lot of targets . I'm also interested in the Microdose Lupron flare. It seems to work for some and help with even growth but my doc thinks it may suppress my ovaries even more.
Ps you said you had five almost ready to trigger. Did you have some leaders or were those all measurable? Just curious why they would cxl - 5 is def enough. Most places I think like to see at least four right?

lemonliz I was kinda surprised you weren't on an EPP or MDL protocol with your DOR. With an AFC of 9 or 10 and AMH 0.8 my RE said he's "throwing the kitchen sink" at me. I'd talk to your RE about being as aggressive as possible. Are you OOP for meds?

Afm: 2dp5dt. I hate when I don't listen to my perfectly good advice and start googling. My thawed advanced blast that we transferred looked like a brain. Can I find any images that look like it? No, no I can't. Why's that? Because it's a stupid thing to do. Argh.

Oh and I had nausea last night which always makes me tweak out a bit because I only ever get nauseous before a loss, so now that's what I associate with nausea. How's that for fucked up? Rainbows, unicorns and glitter here.

Thanks everyone! Yes, canceling blows. I was okay with it and then I had a full-caff cup of coffee and a minute to clear my head and then I had a good cry (a hug-a-pug kind of cry). I know it's better to get cancelled now than wind up in a more precarious situation down the road.

sammae, I asked Dr. Jeopardy (that's what I call him) about more aggressive protocols in September and he said we should just see how this one works out. But today he was all serious about getting more aggressive so fx for next time. Whatever he's got has got to be better than it was this time. Since my e2 was always good it's not like it was a problem of dosage. I think I might have over suppressed on BCP.

vballbaby, basically it's just a numbers game. We are totally OOP and can't afford to cycle again so we needed to aim for a certain number of follicles to make sure that we have at least enough for one fresh and one frozen cycle (4 good embryos). RE was aiming for 10 follicles to try to make sure we got to 4 surviving embryos.

Sorry lemonliz . I hope that you get a surprisingly successful IUI cycle and don't have to cycle again. But for now, I'm just sorry this happened. It sucks.

firstbbq, I hadn't even thought of it that way, my ovaries can do better! That's a good way of looking at it. I'm glad that the RE must have some confidence that they can; I think they can do better, too. I'm an overachiever, if nothing else. I just wish my ovaries agreed

MH and I just had the talk about the 5 existing follies and what happens if his spunk is in better shape this time. I mean, any reasonable RE would cancel an IUI with 5 mature follies. But honestly it's kind of laughable to think that we'd even get one bean out of the deal let alone 5. Anyhow, I shall go forth with the IUI.

We're triggering tonight. IUI is on Monday. Thank goodness I don't have to waste anymore precious Gonal-F or Menopur!

I got the call today that I'm ok to go ahead. Basically at my baseline yesterday, my E2 started too high (350). They retested me this morning. My E2 dropped to 300 and I have a 1.0 follicle, but the RE is ok with that apparently, and we got the thumbs up to start injects tomorrow. I can't say that I understand what's going on, but I'm happy not to be cancelled.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! B/w came in at 376 up from 113 so we are continuing with everything at least until Monday when I have an u/s. Phew for now! Is it true that I should be at 1000 to even consider moving forward with ER?

Just a quick update.. leaving the office. ER went great, they got 10 eggs!!! The doctor seemed surprised so we are feeling really good right now

I finally made it over here, will update my siggie when I am on a real computer.

I had the hysteroscopy on Wednesday and they removed a pollup along with extra skin around the posterior. My throat is still raw from the breathing tube. It doing fine otherwise. Still on Lupron and experiencing lovely side effects such as hot flashes and night sweats, grrrr. Luckily, this will not delay my FET in February as of right now.

@buttmonkey I know, I kept wondering if they had forgotten something really important I needed to do for the FET! Like I'd show up and they would say, "uh, you were supposed to be here five times in the last 8 days, wtf?" I only wound up having to take off the day after the transfer because of the way my appointments worked out, they normally only do appointments during my teaching hours and I'm not allowed to miss less than half a day when I'm not there.

Hi Ladies! I feel sooo behind on everything! As I posted on the Bump - we had our ER on Friday, retrieved 21, all were mature, and 18 fertilized. As of yesterday, I'm PUPO and we have 13 frosties! I'm looking forward to being more involved during the next check in, I'm running short on time to sift through 5 pages of updates

Congrats Winnifred! Those are great numbers! And congrats on being PUPO!

AFM: I just had my Day 8 ultrasound and things are looking good. We have 11 follies in the 12-14.5 range, another 7 in the 10-12 range and a handful of others in the 6-9 range that could possibly catch up by Friday. There are a few tiny stragglers, too, but they are pretty much out. So, looking at around 20 or so contenders. I'm pretty pleased with that. A good number of potential eggs without over-stimming like last time. Still need to wait for blood work to confirm, but looks like we are still on track for a Friday ER.

Thanks ladies. We called yesterday around 5pm, but of course they had left for the day so the answering service just took a message. They dont open for another hour today, so we are waiting for an hour to call. We don't have a portal, but I so wish we did!
