I will be following this because I have no idea either...The train ride is an excellent idea though! We are taking Henry again on one this year because of how much he loved it last year!

Dagny is really into Calico Critters - FIL & SMIL got her the camper already (really good Amazon deal) and H & I are getting her the townhouse & some furniture. Along those lines she would probably also love a dollhouse.
My Mom gets her a Northface Fleece every year - yes expensive but I love it because they're thin enough to wear in the car seat but nice and warm for cold Indiana winters! You could ask for something like that...that you would never want to spend your own money on.
What about a zoo or children's museum membership? Do you have one of those near you? Or something like dance/swimming lessons?
I'm also going to ask for the nice Learning Resources cash register, some board games & puzzles and Dagnys really into Legos so we'll ask for that as well.
PS we aren't super greedy but our parents are all divorced so we have 4 sets of grandparents that buy plus Santa gifts so I have to come up with a lot of ideas. It's a PITA.

All I can think of are games/apps for the LeapFrog tablet we got Riley for her birthday. For some crazy reason they don't even have the Polar Express thing here. We're going to have more room in our new house, but she really doesn't need much. Except maybe another dog to harass, but that definitely isn't happening!

I got a playmobile set on super clearance And I got the big box of duplos(again on super sale). He has asked for a pogo stick and a rock tunnel for his trains. So we'll wait a bit to see if he changes his mind. I'm thinking we'll get him this as the pogo stick
If people ask for what he wants I might ask for some more playmobile stuff. He's really into playing with little "guys" now. He also likes some knex toy at school so that's another option.
I'll be following this because I have no clue what to get Emma or to recommend to others. We've discussed a bike, but that might be better for birthday since christmas is cold.... But it's really only cold until early March here.
I'm done with Anna's Christmas. She's getting a train, cash register, adorable animal from MM's shop, and a doctor play kit. I'm going to do a pretty big toy box clean out in the next month or so since there are a good number of toys she has outgrown and doesn't play with. I'm going to get a plastic box to store the train in under her bed to save space.

Ugh, I don't even want to think about Christmas yet. He has not even opened all his birthday gifts yet. I have no idea what to get him, let alone what other people can get him. I will have to search on amazon for a few hours, because let's be honest, I am not getting to the store alone ever.
starfishy, Hanna got that for her birthday and it's nice. It was a little tricky for her to figure out at first but she did eventually. Also, it's annoying as all get out. It squeaks with each bounce!
What about a flashlight or a toy that's multipurpose or long term. Hanna loves her M&D flashlight she got. What about an American girl doll? I can't remember if Lilly is into dolls or not. They have the babies and the bigger ones. the main difference is the baby doesn't have hair and the body is softer.

M is super into Paw Patrol now, so I was thinking of getting him all of the pups on their cars. Maybe the paw patroller. Idk it's pretty pricey.
Originally we were going to get him a bike as his big gift this year, but my SMIL bought him one without consulting us and now it's at our house. Don't even get me started on that.
I saw some things on cartwheel this week that look like might be good gifts also. The peel and stick stickers from Melissa and Doug and then some crayola early childhood pads. I'll take a look this week in store.
I'm due Xmas eve, so indefinitely want to get shopping done early!

I thought it might be a little easier for him to learn to jump - and safer too. So random that he's been asking for one.

I've gotten a few things on clearance for Christmas already. I have magnatiles, a fairy dress up costume, some leap pad games. We already have a leap pad from Shane but I'm thinking of getting a leap pad for Aubrey's big present.

New dress up clothes (she's outgrowing the ones from last Christmas), an outdoor picnic table, maybe an AG bitty baby with accessories, my mom wants to get her a little keyboard piano.
So far all we have gotten Kayleigh is one of those big cardboard play castle/fort things. (This). She loves puzzles so I plan on getting her some bigger puzzles (48 pieces), some more board games, a super cape (she loves super heros right now), and possibly some barbies.
We are asking my parents to get her a Highlights subscription and the IL's to renew our family membership to the children's museum.
Honestly, I keep telling my family not to buy Zoe toys when they ask. She has so many and they are filling up my house and she doesn't even play with a lot of them. I always encourage family to do something like a zoo membership, or take her out for something when they are in town...but Grandparents want to give something that is wrapped up. So, I also suggest things like tights, a dress, pyjamas etc. My girl loves clothes and gets excited about that.
I was thinking that we might get her a fun outdoor item like a sled.
My MIL does a box for them that includes fun and practical stuff. Last year she did a movie, pjs, socks, chapstick, popcorn and hot chocolate. Even the older kids like it and it's not very expensive.

We're behind pretty much everyone else, but I think we'll get Em her first bike and a trike for Nicky. The grandparents *might* get her a power wheels and Nicky one of those toddler power wheel things. Other than that, paw patroller for Nicky and not sure what else for Em.

We are not really into Disney or American Girl stuff. She got a register, Zoo, and puppet show pass for her bday. We have very generous Grandparents! We just don't need toys I don't think!
Dress up clothes is a pretty good idea. Something practical like a Stride Rite gift card would be great too. There's a kids art studio around here where are the kids can go nuts for a couple of hours with all the art supplies so maybe a pass or a gift certificate there?
She's totally into turtles now and we are on vacation at the moment, and the turtle center here has an adopt a turtle program. I bet I could get my mom to adopt a turtle for her so she gets updates and photos and stuff from "her" turtle!

We were at Costco and they have some character rugs. I've been wanting a rug for Ms room because it's wood floor, so I grabbed the paw patrol one (they also had Star Wars, frozen and maybe hello kitty). It was in the back of my car. Well getting in the car earlier he saw it and got so excited. So one gift is gone already. I'm thinking maybe getting the bedding set for him to match.

junkytrunk were they actual rugs or those play mats they can drive their cars on? I got the paw patrol play mat but if they have rugs it might go back!

They were rugs. It has the faces of chase, Marshall, rubble and rocky in 4 different squares. It's not the largest rug, but it goes great in a kids room. I'll take a pic when he wakes up.

Oh that's awesome! Can't wait to see it when you post it, so thank you. I'll have to check my Costco and see if they have them.
