So I've never lived outside of my home state. Well turns out dh has a possible job opportunity in Colorado. I'm freaking out. I've got such a good support system with my family and friends, I'm nervous what will happen if we move. Will I find another dr I connect with? Will I find another therapist I can talk to? The thing that really sucks is that I'm not sure if we are moving or not. So im in limbo for 2-3 weeks until his interview is done. So my anxiety is through the roof. Good thing I've been doing well on my meds the last few months. Anyone else move states away like this before?
I have not made such a move but I know what it's like to be in a stressful limbo!
I would recommend, for the limbo phase, to really try to focus on staying present in the moment. Right now, you have your support system, you have your current doctor and therapist. The worry about the move will still be there if the decision is made to do that. Try to let it go for now (I know that's hard).
Also, I bet you'll be ok if you do move. It will probably be hard, and it might take you awhile to find a new doctor and therapist you connect with, but you can do it. And you stand a better chance of handling it well if you can be kind to yourself during this limbo, rather than burning out on the worry.
Thanks! I'm just taking it day by day in a sense. We got a call today that the interview will be in the next two weeks. So we will travel there for a few days, make sure we like it. Then if he gets offered the job we aren't too unfamiliar of the location. Still stressful but I'm getting through it.
2kiddos I just relocated again last week. This time was to come back home, but we were living 3 hours away from friends and family for the past 3 three years. It was tough, but we powered through it. Try to research the area as much as possible before the move. It helps with looking for a place to live a little easier. If he can recommendations from coworkers that helps a lot.
Will you also be looking for employment? I am in the middle of rewriting my resume. Actually, I took a break for the evening while someone else reviews the changes for me.
I forgot to update everyone here! My husband got the job! We leave for colorado in 1 1/2 hours! Got the uhaul all packed and I'm ready to go. I'm feeling very nervous, as I have never lived outside of Oregon, but I also feel excited. I slept like crap last night, and woke up today at 1am. But I'm embracing it with some quiet time and coffee before the morning rush.

Best of luck to you! I bet Colorado is a lot like Oregon. I hope the move goes smoothly!

Thanks! We made it on Saturday and I've been unpacking and organizing like crazy. I look forward to getting back into a routine soon!

Thanks! So far it does feel like oregon, except the snow and dry air. But I think I'm going to like it here.
