Sorry in advance for how long this is.
We were visiting family this weekend and our dogs were with my in laws due to breed specific legislation against bully breeds. We were there last night and this morning and our dog was fine. We tied her up outside to go to the bathroom and we left the house for maybe an hour. When we came back she was dragging her hind legs and belly crawling. H thought she was tangled and went to help. As soon as he got to her she collapsed and was breathing heavily and rapidly and foaming at the mouth. He picked her up and her head just flopped. It wasn't hot out (81° for the he high). We brought her in and put cool wet towels on her and put a fan blowing on her and after an hour we got her breathing under control but she still acted like she could not move at all. Once her breathing was controlled and we cooled her down we took her to the vet.
Of course, the vet is a small town vet with no diagnostic equipment. She said judging by the symptoms, she would say it was a neck or spine injury. The dog is still vomiting and has no control of her bowels. She has been a little snarly off and on, which is opposite of her normal personality. She got a laser therapy treatment and steroids. She seems to have gained some use of her body again but it is very weak and has spastic control.
When we got home she started frantically backing her self up across the floor as best as she could (not well at all). She seemed terrified of something.
I'm planning on taking her to our normal vet tomorrow when we get home. Anyone have any clue what else I can do in the mean time? We are supposed to keep her as still as possible. It's hard while she is acting spooked.
Thank you for reading if you made it this far.

She is up walking, she walks around really slow and calm like she is still weak. Considering that she wouldn't even uncurl her paws and put them on the ground yesterday, this is a HUGE improvement. Yesterday she was just flopped over completely on her side. Normally, Pudge is a very animated dog. She loves everyone and thinks she is a lap dog and tries to jump up on people.
Can't remember who mentioned the snarls. I figured she was just freaked out by what was going on. We have just been keeping DD and other dogs away from her. We had to kennel her last night, the vet wanted her to be still until today. She still wants us to keep activity to a minimum for the next 4 weeks.
