It's just so hard to tell. My daughter didn't sttn until two. During that time she slept better and worse at different times for different reasons. Only some of which I ever figured out.
This exactly for my 5yo DS. It sometimes helps when I tell myself I only have to make it until 2 with DS2. But I do think that sleeping in separate rooms can be helpful for sleep, because we do tend to wake each other up. I have no evidence to support that, that's just in my head for some reason.
