Re: mommy brain. These days, there are two trains of thought on my head: what do I have to do for me/the adults and what does the kid need. Sometimes the two trains collide and things get forgotten. I almost forgot the pump parts on my way out the door b/c I was counting my work bag, daycare bag, and carseat. It's supposed to be 3 bags and the carseat.
gldnbearz I have the same issue! I now keep a styrofoam "beer" cooler in my trunk because I have forgotten my milk cooler to many times and this way I just need to buy a bag of ice and I'm all set!
Today is going to be super long I won't get home until 9:30-10:00 tonight which means Max will not have nursed for over 12 hours and that is past his 7:00-7:30 bedtime so I am anticipating a rough evening for poor little and daddy :-( I have a work event that does not start until 6:00PM and is scheduled to go 2 hours and is an 1.5 hours from my house I am dreading it. I did have a leisurely morning at home with lo, had breakfast with him and played before I dropped him off to daycare 2 hours later than normal since I will be gone so late today.

zengal - I can't quite comprehend this baby sleeping thing you are referring to. So what I'm hearing you say is ... your child sleeps? Seriously, so jealous!! spikesmom - Good luck today. I hate long days that have me away from LO for too long. Nice you got to have a leisurely morning with him.
I'm working on LO's birthday party invites today ... working = addressing them. His party is on Sunday Nov. 1st since his birthday is the 3rd. I'm super torn on the guest list though. We have a couple of friends who if I invite one set, I kind of need to invite the others. Then I'm getting worried about keeping all the kids that are coming entertained. HUH?!?! We weren't planning on doing anything, just come, eat some food and watch LO smash his cake. But now I'm thinking about the 14 kids in attendance (ranging from 8 months to 13 yrs). I totally don't want to be one of those over the top party people, but I'm tempted to get a bouncy house so at least the older kids (which most of them are 2+) can get their wiggles out, without trashing my brothers house.
Birthday party planning is sooooo not fun. I was thinking dinner with the immediate family. MH was all like, but it's her first birthday. Between families on both sides (our parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and cousins), we're already at about 2 dozen. Then adding on work and church extends that out. Trying to figure out food and goodie bags and entertainment? There's no birthday party fairy, is there?

spikesmom- hugs, I hope your day flies by. gldnbearz - so many bags! Your must have great arms carrying so much stuff lol ninergirl52- we are doing a bash too because he loves people and crowds. He also has friends from our birth class. Lots of other babies.I just narrowed down the games. It's farm themed because he is obsessed with farms. There will be 16 kids in attendance ranging from 12 mos- 9yrs. I am buying a small parachute to play with. Setting up a larger scale ball bit. I have a bigger swimming pool that was given as a gift. I am setting up a paper plate farm animal craft table for the kids. Pin the tail on the piggy, a fake milking station. A herding game with balloons. Everything is handmade or my sisters help. Luckily I have 5 sisters who can help. A bouncy house sounds so fun!

Isaac has really stinky breath, the last few days it has been awful. I brush his teeth and floss everynight and morning. I left a message with the nurses. Hoping for a call back. I hope it's not serious. I read that if they have a stuffy nose, they breathe through their mouth and bacteria can form. He always has a stuffy nose. Since he was born.
Also working on the birthday party. I also got a huge box of clothes for Evie. It's so strange to see tiny baby clothes everywhere again lol. Also is anyone else in shock that we are in birthday planning stages?!

Wow at songbirdsinging55 you are WAAY more creative than I am. We're doing a tailgate theme, since its on a Sunday and football will likely be on. DH and I love to cook so I'm excited about that part. We're making a chili station with all kinds of fun things to put chili on (hot dogs, baked potatoes, fritos, cornbread, etc). Then I'll be making 3 cakes, because I'm a little nutty that way. 1 will be the smash cake for LO, then I'm going to make a sheet cake and decorate it like a football field and list happy birthday to the 6 other family members who are either sharing their birthday or have a birthday with LO that day/week. Then I'll make a football shaped cake (chocolate and peanut butter of course). But entertainment wise ... yeah ... I'm at a slight loss there. I'm just hoping its a nice day so the kids can play outside. My brother and his wife have a pretty awesome yard (it's an acre). The guest list just hit 28 adults and 17 kids ... I'm in shock and DH may kill me. But 85% of that is our family. I'm REALLY hoping some people can't come.
Hello! RE: spiders- still feels like they're crawling all over me. Countdown to exterminator!
Re: teeth. I am gonna have to buy a new toothbrush, I bought it so he can get used to it and he had fun. I didn't think I needed to start brushing right away. I wipe away and he never has anything but formula or water in his bottle and it's never propped or anything. We don't wipe in the MOTN. I have honest company kids toothpaste and it is mint.
Re: birthday I was going small and then I found a lumberjack party set in etsy and now it's full fledge lumberjack/woodland creature themed.
My family is huge and I'm only inviting our two closest couple friends. No other friends because no. Food will be all fallish themed and caramel apple sangria for the adults ;-)
still no idea when H will be home. You guys. Staying at home all day and then juggling babysitting the few shifts I do have at work is just so tough. Now that he basically RUNS everywhere, I can't have some of my back up people watch him because I don't trust them. (Like my grandma who is just no quick enough) and her house is so not baby proof
Ninergirl- 17 kids?!!!! Holy crap. We have about 9 kids and I thought THAT was too much.

jjh1119 - Holy crap is right! Just our families alone make up 1/2 of them. Confession: I dropped all but 2 invites in the mail, because I'm still on the fence and one of those families has 3 kids (shhh don't tell anyone).
So just realized since H has been away for two weeks roughly (or will be soon) I haven't shaved my legs this whole time because it's also fall weather and I've been wearing pants
i've been lurking, but haven't had a chance to post lately. it's work busy season and by end of day i'm just so fucking exhausted. the last three nights i've been passed out cold by 9pm.
teeth: have not brushed anyones teeth or wiped anything ever. whoops. thankfully she's got 2.25 teeth so if i've ruined them, it's not all of them?
birthday: i was very very anti party, but i think i'm coming around to a very small low key baby party. three couples, three kids - cupcakes and beer. the end. on day of birthday my sisters will probably come over for dinner, but there are too many politics and boundary issues for a full family visit situation thing. if they chose to come over for thanksgiving they can say happy birthday then (my multiple sets of parents, etc)
Ninergirl maybe send those two invites if you get some declines? Otherwise 3 kids? Yeah no lol
Oh also- I am not making goody bags for the kids coming to my kid's party.
Not even starting that shit because no. We are celebrating Liam's day. He can get gifts if they want to bring one but they don't have to and they sure as shit better not be expecting a small gift from me.

I'll feed your family a meal. Good enough
Umm yes to all of this!! His party is the day after Halloween, its bad enough these kids are likely going to be hopped up on sugar and then I'm going to ply them with cake. If anything I'll send them home with a balloon. LO LOVES balloons so those will be a party must have.
gldnbearz, don't feel bad...I actually have forgotten my pump bag before. My husband had to bring it to me at work.
songbirdsinging55, youre doing WAY better on mouth hygiene than me! So far I just wipe her teeth with a washcloth or give them a swipe with the toothbrush when I remember. I hope they can give you some good answers!
Re birthday parties. I'm just planning on having over grandparents and my my sisters and brother in law with their kids. I don't think I'll do any activities, just cake and food. I'm just not that creative.
Awww drop off tears are so heartbreaking. We had our first moment of crying because he saw me walk away last night and I was only going to take a shower! (He was with my mom).
I hope there are lots of hugs when you see you at home
Exterminator sprayed my house so I can sleep peacefully. He also said that if indeed it was a brown recluse it must have come in my suitcase from Florida!! And should only be one. Made me feel better so no more spider talk from me.
I am typically a shave obsessed person too but single parenting doesn't leave much time for long showers.
I will definitely shave before H gets home. Not that he cares, lol
Haha yeah pixie very true. Last night I was able to shower at my moms. Will do so again tonight. Gotta wash the hair though. Let's see how much energy I have
RE birthday invites. I'm inviting the world it was easier then drawing the line in the sand. Sometimes invites are like choosing who gets a lifeboat on the titanic . I'm working on whipping up 33 invites currently. I've got to print and cut the backing. Then I'll glue the fish on and emboss the eyes.
I have a friend who had a bouncy house at her sons first birthday party. It was amazing I hear and her kid loved to be bounced in the house.
Re goodie bags. I'm not doing them but that's because my "aquariums" in the center of the tables will be filled with candy to eat.
So after multiple Amazon searches I had to give up on my dream of fish shaped noodles for the pasta portion of DDs bday party menu. DH told me that was carrying the theme too far anyway.
On the upside 32 invites are made. Thank you ladies for your birthday party talk because it gave me some motivation.
@gldbbearz DH told me if it were up to him he'd send a text message and serve chips and queso only
