I wanted to be a nurse.
My oldest DD wants to be a vet or vet tech, she also wants to be a mommy My DS wants to be a wild animal photographer My L0 is 13 months so yesterday she was trying to be a puppy
I had a few big phases: Lepidopterist (sp?) aka butterfly catcher thanks to a book we had Archaeologist during the obsessed with dinosaurs phase Astronaut during the obsessed with zero gravity phase Country singer from middle school till.... now.
I'm an art teacher instead. It's still pretty cool.
DS is still in the babbling phase, but H wants him to be a professional football player or rodeo cowboy.
I wanted to be a dentist. My mom works in one of the best dental schools in the country so take your daughter to work day was like Christmas for me. Free goodies galor

Since I was 5 (my mom kept my paper from kindergarten where I wrote these goals down) I wanted to be a doctor. I stuck with that through life until my 3rd year of undergrad. I still kind of want to finish.
DD used to want to be a firefighter. I just asked her and she said she wants to be a grownup who wears dresses.
I wanted to be a Doctor forever, until I got to college and then I didn't know what to do with myself which is why I got a Zoology degree. I could have used it to get all the pre-requisites for many of the grad programs I considered briefly (Med school, Vet School, Physician Assistant). After I graduated I discovered I actually wanted to be a nurse so I went back to school for that. I have thoughts of going on for my nurse practitioner when the kids are older, but I'm happy where I am at now.
DS wants to go into the Military. I hope he outgrows that for my own sake. He's really into math and science type stuff like I was so hopefully he can follow that path. I have not asked DD yet.
turns out we don't have dolphins in Wisconson so my services were not needed
DD wants to be a hair stylist/doctor (not one or the other, both) DS wants to be a dragon (I'm hoping DD will help support him financially)
This was actually a legitimate brief thought of mine as I completed my zoology degree. I interned at the Zoo in Madison and I liked working with animals. DH and I had been dating 4 years by the time I graduated and we knew we would eventually get married so I only looked for local jobs. If I had been single, I probably would have moved somewhere if I had the chance to work with dolphins or something. I did apply to be a Zookeeper at the Milwaukee Zoo but I didn't have enough experience. I'm pretty sure I'm glad that path didn't work out for me. Working with animals pays crap.

Lurker here who jumps in when I can.
I always wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer when I grew up, but never made it to college because reasons. For the last 15 years, I have been a 911 Dispatcher. So I give medical instructions while sometimes arguing my point. I guess I followed my dreams; albeit in a roundabout direction?
I will be resigning from this field when I leave California for Texas at the end of the year. I think I may want to pursue becoming a paralegal. Who knows what will happen.
My 2.5 year can't express her dreams yet. As long as she's happy, I don't care what she does; barring any illegal activities, of course.

I wanted to be a clothing buyer. My mom work at a corporate office for a store and told me what they were. I could called a shoe store's head buyer one. They didn't have a position available at the time. She called me 6 months later but i had just started a new job so I turned them down. I still kick myself for that. Biggest career mistake I've ever made.

I wanted to be a vet until I saw the bloated bellies of the abandoned kittens we tried to feed and some died. Too sad. I wanted to be a genetic biologist and cure things like my sister's CF and then came the buzzkill chapter on ethics in genetic engineering. Too controversial. Then I was totally lost for a while and just wanted to not be the boss of anyone ---> Living the dream as a toilet factory forecast analyst.
I wanted to be a famous actor/singer/musician/everything
Then I wanted to be a film composer or just composer in general
Then when I chose the oh so versatile (sarcasm) college major of music theory and history, I might have settled for being a teacher (college professor if it's in those subjects), and was interested in conducting and composing too still
Then I realized that's actually not what I wanted to do at all, and that it wasn't the wisest choice in college major so I switched to business.
NOW, I want to be a finance/accountant person.... or really just a business person, I'm good doing the operations management stuff too like my current job.
And now you see above.... the gradual progression of my dreams shattering over time

Well obviously a part time CPA specializing in pension plans.
But really, marine biologist/dolphin trainer (I've seen so many say this, this job must just appeal to kids somehow?), singer, doctor who finds the cure for cancer.
Model/actress - my stint into modeling was very brief. I turned down an offer to move to Chicago to work for an agency. "Plus-size" was still a new division and I wasn't sure if I was truly ready.
Forensic scientist
Then I got married to my first husband, became a SAHM and didn't figure out until later that I have a desire to teach/share. My "dream job" would be to teach at the college level and become an independent/homebirth midwife. The latter can't happen until my kids are much older.
Oh and pretty sure DS wants to be a rock star as of right now... particularly a drummer...seeing as he turns every single thing into a drum constantly and whilst doing so yells "Mommy look, Primal Scream!" ((his favorite Motley Crue song)) .....Yeah.
