I really wanted to get a woven, but I was intimidated about trying to learn how to tie it. Now I feel like it's too late. But the back carries look so much better than in the ergo b
It's not too late! The wovens work into toddlerhood and beyond! That's how I justified shelling out the $$ for the Didymos, anyway. But Cam was just getting to a squirmy phase when I bought it and I got frustrated quickly as I was trying to learn the different carries. I can do a few easier ones but the tails were always too long, so after a chat on the BW board, I decided I needed a shorter one to practice and improve my skills, then I can use the 6 for back carries and whatnot when I get better.
Do you find more freedom in positioning LO on your back? DS loves being worn on my back in the Ergo, but because I'm so tall and have a long torso I feel like he winds up sitting pretty low. His face is between my shoulder blades. When ever I see someone with a woven doing a back carry, it looks like LO can see over their shoulder.

Sometimes I wish I majored in forensics or ballistics while in college. My cousin is a forensic scientist in Washington, D.C., and I am always so intrigued by his stories. Maybe I just watch Forensic Files way too much. Or Dexter.
Does anyone else feel like their LO's are too smart for their own good. The things she has figured out blows my mind.
Yes! Cam is always finding random objects and pretends to use them correctly, things I didn't know he'd ever noticed before. For example, an empty nasal spray bottle that he fished out of my drawer (I told him to please give it to me, and before he did he stuck the tip up to his nose).
One time when DD1 was about 18 months old I was changing my Diva Cup. I did not know she was paying attention because she was in the room playing by the closet door. later that day she somehow fished a bottle of Visine out of DH's drawer and tried to stick it up her vagina (through her diaper). Oops...
I always need coffee but I can't drink it because it tanks my milk and DD2 is a boob addict- she still nurses at least 6x/day.

I think I'm slowly joining that club. Before I was pregnant I absolutely thought it was odd to breastfeed a child who could walk up and request the boob (not verbally per se). Like borderline side eye. Now I can't get this kid off my boob and it doesn't even phase me.
Can I join in? I haven't caught up on the thread, but definitely need to up my post count.
I now want pulled pork sandwiches, thanks crunchymama11 . These pregnancy cravings are no joke the 2nd time around. Someone can just mention a certain food and I'm all, "Yes, please", and won't be satisfied until I have it whether it be that day or the following week. However, this does not apply to onions much to my husbands dismay.
lia1303 I haven't been brave enough to try a back carry yet. Now that Cam is older, and right now LOVES being carried everywhere, I'm not as afraid to try.

Jump right in. No need to catch up there really isn't any consistent theme. It's all random ramblings.

So I posted in a different thread somewhere about how I thought my son would be a little mini me. You decide where he came from bc I'm not too sure. son and husband. sooooo he has blond hair and blue eyes.
crunchymama11 how did you learn to lesson plan, what to teach? I'm very interested in this
LOL well I was a preschool teacher before kids so I am just doing what I know and love.
But there is so much info on the internet about it. Let's see- 3Dinosaurs, 1+1+1=1, Teach Preschool are good ones to start with. Pretty much just search "Tot School" or "Preschool" into Pinterest and you can find a lot. I use Pinterest as my note-pad and keep my ideas until I can write out my lesson plan on paper.
I started "school" when DD1 was 2- just very basic stuff, not many worksheets, just fun hands-on activities, arts/crafts, songs, books, puzzles, games (about 3 activities including an art a day), and a short circle time consisting of a shape, color, and letter of the week, a word wall, and a Bible verse. I also try to include a special activity- a field trip or a special snack.
Then as she learned and grew I added more according to her ability and interest. Circle time is longer with calendar time and days of the week, and we do about 5-6 activities a day now.
Each week is a different theme- last week was winter, this week is Forest Animals, and next week is Jesus. Some themes cover 2 weeks.
I also keep a portfolio and assessment of what she knows. I keep samples of new things she has learned, like making a circle, using scissors, writing her name.
Now I try to include DD2 when I can mostly to keep her occupied so she leaves her sister's projects alone. She loves to paint and play with playdough and the sensory bin.
But again- this is what I used to do as a career so I this is what I know. So don't feel like you have to do all that. You can do as little or as much as you want- that is the beauty of homeschooling!
One time back in college, I got shit faced at a party so my roommate had to walk me home. She helped me in to my bed and covered me up with my heated blanket and put it on high heat. I woke up about 2 hours later in a pool of vodka. I cooked all of the booze out of my system. OMG, I am pretty sure I almost died. It was horrible.
clarkebar1013 All I know is that you guys are a good lookin' family!
Why thank you. I just can't believe how much my son doesn't look like what I imagined at all. I have long, dark brown, poker straight hair and brown eyes. His hair is curly and blond, and he has blue eyes. WHAT THE HELL?! Also, you have a cute ass for a rat.

DD1's attitude this morning "Don't drink my milk Mama. You have tea". Excuuuuuuse me Miss Thang. This was preceded by a "Let's go brush your hair" "No I don't want to. I said 'No'"
Be scared of the three-nager stage. Be very scared. And be glad they can't talk yet. FML
