mrsmonogrammed - one of my closest friends had a son who kept dropping percentiles as a baby. He was labeled "failure to thrive." It drove her nuts too, so I completely get where you're coming from. And I'll tell you the same thing I told her - my brother was labeled FTT as a baby because of low weight gain/percentiles. Once they started solids, he was the pickiest eater. But things always even out, and get became a better eater and weight gainer and was even "husky" as a pre-teen. It's hard not to worry, but I'm sure everything is fine. (And my friend's 4 year old is still in the bottom half of the growth curve, but not hovering around "the line" like he was as an infant.)

@kej0004, I've got an over/under going on that. It's going to happen, just not sure when.

The trial I'm in has all male attorneys (which is typical). This morning two of them were trying to give me advice by saying they were in their 60s and I was only in my 20s. I literally laughed out loud and thanked them since it has been many years since I was in my 20s!

mrsmonogrammed I totally understand you worrying about LOs percentile. Malcolm has been in 10-12% range and at 2 months she said she wasn't worried unless it drops. You may have seen my post last week about him only gaining 3 oz in a two week period I think. He had diarreha for a week but I'm still supper paranoid. His 4 month apt is tomorrow and I'm already nervous!!

We were discussing major, minor, diminished and augmented triads. They are made of up major 3rds and minor 3rds (double stuff represent major 3rds, regular represents minor 3rds). Using their oreos, I had them create Oreo triads (maj= double stuff + reg, minor= reg + double stuff, dim= 2 regular, aug=2 double stuff). Then, we discussed the Oreo "triad" heights- augmented is tallest, maj/minor are in middle, diminished is shortest. The heights of the Oreo "triads" represents the outside interval aug= aug. 5th/min 6, major/minor= P5, dim= dim 5/TT. Then, I played different chords on the piano, and they had to identify listening for the outside interval first, and inside interval if it was major/minor. If they correctly identified a triad by ear, they got to eat it.

Kind of a quick/dirty description, but you get the idea! It was fun! Plus, Oreos!

We have those same chimes, and the little einsteins bolster! And, I have a scooter, too. I feel like B is going to be all over the place as soon as he figures out how to crawl. We're in trouble!!

Momming is SO hard, but I have a feeling that even though you're having a rough day, you are truly an excellent mom. Your kiddos are lucky to have you! Positive vibes and creepy internet hugs coming your way- I hope tomorrow is better!

Also: I am SO jealous that you lovely Canadians only have to deal with 11 (? Correct me if I am wrong) weeks of campaigning. I'm so sick of our campaign cycle already- and we still have more than a year to go. Ugh!

kemdupuis I wish my theory teachers had explained it with oreos. Now I'm mentally trying to figure out how oreos could be used to explain augmented 6th chords and realizing how much I miss 'real' music. I love teaching elementary music but we aren't exactly matching vowels and singing Whitacre.

Yep, 11 weeks so I figure she might as well get involved because the campaign has been more than half her life haha! I honestly thought your guys' election was later this year based on how much coverage I've seen myself of it,I just found out earlier today that it's next year and was so surprised! Holy mack!

I had just exited the highway this morning, my mind on getting some coffee at Tim Horton's. I reach into my purse and find my husband's keys - house and car. We had gone to brunch with my in-laws and I drove DH's car because 1.) mine is messy and 2.) there was a marathon and I know my way around better than DH. I was 42 miles from home and we don't have a spare key of our own (my mom, sister, and nearest friend all do, but they were all at work). I was able to leave at 1:30, so DH had to stay with DS all day and go into work a bit late. I have to make up my time, either with PTO or flexing my days. Boo.

Funny you mention matching vowels and singing Whitacre- we're working on "Waternight" right now in my top group. It's a stretch, but they are SO into it. And I've been harping on vowels every day since I started teaching here. Their Southern vowels are pretty strident sometimes. It's a work in progress.

I taught elementary for one year and knew I would resign by the end of October. I don't know how you guys do it- much respect to you for dealing with little peeps all day. It's exhausting! I seem to remember a lot of "listen to this piece of music and draw a picture about how it makes you feel" lessons. Haha I am so not cut out for that. I'm not creative enough!

Oh yeah- we don't actually vote until November 2016. It's insane. And this is just the beginning. DH is a Canadian citizen, and we both grew up very close to the border (I grew up 80 miles south of Montreal), so Canadian culture is pretty ingrained in both of our lives. I love my country, and I am a very proud American, but you guys do so many things right.

I like getting paid to dance to children's music and play with rhythm sticks. Okay. I do a lot more than that I would love to teach middle or high school but my piano chops suck. And I know what kind of after-school commitments go with high school.

We have been noticing V scooting forward when he's on his stomach. In the past week he has figured out (and perfected) rolling back to front, sitting up with much less assistance, grabbing his feet anytime he's sitting/on his back, and scooting. There's also no such thing as sitting still anymore, for him and/or us. What happened to my baby??

My kid seems lazy in comparison, lol. He scoots around in his sleep including spinning around, but doesn't roll over yet. He wants to be sitting or standing all the time now though, and keeps trying to pull himself to a sitting position in his swing. He hasn't had much interest in grabbing his feet.

Also, your H can fix an alternator issue? That's impressive.

It ended up being a bad battery, but he's replaced a few alternators in the past. He took the dogs home but the baby was already down for the night by the time he finished so I'm spending one more night and going home in the morning.

I was going to say...clicking then not clicking sounds more like a dead battery than an alternator. I've had more than my fair share of dead batteries.

I'm not in music ed atm...I was working all the time and never finished my bachelor's since I couldn't make the time for classes. :-(

I am waaaay out of touch with my music. It makes me sad. I wish there were groups around here that rehearse on the weekends instead of during the week. If I had known I would be out of work this long I would've signed up for the community college ensembles that rehearse weekday evenings.

Guys, my child is a newborn again. I'll admit, I thought we might be spared the 4 month wakefulness/regression. She was sleeping so well! Newp. How silly of me. This may even be worse than the newborn stage because she was sleeping 6-9 hours.

I know it'll pass. This is just rough.

Don't worry J only started flipping over this past week and she only does back to front. Your LO will do it eventually. I know it's super frustrating when you read about everyone else's kids doing it. I've been waiting for J to just grab her foot bc I think it's the cutest when babies play with their feet, she has shown absolutely no interest. She doesn't grab at anything except DH and me.
