So we attend ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) once a week and this week the parent educator challenged all the parents to do something for themselves at least once a week. We then have to share each week what we did for ourselves. So......
Why do you do to treat/pamper yourself?? Give me an idea because with DH's work schedule it's almost impossible to get alone time until DS goes to bed and by then I'm exhausted.

My MIL takes LO one day a week to give me a break but I usually spend it doing chores or running errands.
But I do like to occasionally go get a pedicure when I have the time, or a hair cut (nothing like walking out of the salon with a nice blow out and feeling good). Sometimes I'll take a tennis class that meets once a week. Or take a nap and enjoy sleeping till I wake up, not when LO wakes up and wakes me.
Other than that I just look forward to her bedtime so I can relax and have me time. But I definitely wouldn't say I get "me" time outside of when she goes to bed as often as once a week. More like once a month, if that.
With the new baby we don't have much time to do extravagant things for ourselves. But some me things I do when I want me time: - have a bath (with the door locked haha) - sit outside and enjoy a coffee - grocery shop alone - wash the vehicle - sew - read - watch a movie at home and make popcorn - sit and do my own make up and hair with my music uninterrupted
... I'm starting to see a trend in wanting to be alone for me time...
After LO goes to bed, DH works out in the basement. I use some of that time to watch a show on dvr. The rest of that time I'm usually preparing dinner. Last weekend I got my nails done, but that happens rarely. It sounds really simple, but I often feel refreshed when I listen to music while baking or cooking. I did that all the time pre-LO, but now I mostly try to cook as quickly as possible. When I take the time to put music on and just enjoy myself, I feel a lot better.
I just recently started forcing myself to get back into a couple of my hobbies because I was losing myself and literally drowning in toddler-mommy world. So during her nap a couple times a week and after she goes to bed, I've been crocheting, reading, or looking up photography skills/tips/ideas. Of course now I've been staying up later which is not very good, but I'm hoping to find a balance. And I end most days with some cookies or hot chocolate or tea that I kind of try to savor.
I was just thinking about this the other day and how I need to carve out some me time. The only time I relax is after E is in bed. Usually my me time just consists of reading.
I did subscribe to Audible and have started listening to books on tape on my commute. It makes me feel like I'm making better use of my driving time (45 mins each way to work).
Definitely enjoy a long soak in the tub; add favorite beverage, book and candles and that is my ideal! I'd love to get a mani/pedi more regularly and do so when I can; perhaps trade off with another mom for a couple of hours every other week or at-least once a month. Honestly I very seldom get time to myself other than my lunch break at work, I read then and it is very important to me and I really get a little ticked when I have to use that time to make calls, etc. I hope you make something work!

I think this is a good list. I wouldn't think it would have to be something you spend money on or even get out of the house.
Bubble bath with a glass of wine sounds heavenly to me right now.
But yeah, try finding simple things that seem to make you feel relaxed. You'll figure some out. I'll work on a list.
I get a pedicure once a month. We have a giant to do list to accomplish by Christmas (my due date is 1/23), so crossing off stuff gives me great pleasure.
I try to have lunch with MH or a friend at least once a week. Other than that it's all post bedtime stuff. Usually it's catching up on the DVR or reading. Right now I'm watching "Spy" with Melissa McCarthy. It's funnier than I expected.

Once a month I get my eyebrows waxed. I also get my hair cut every 8 weeks or so. I belong to a book club and sing in my church choir. I need to find more friends my age though. Those last two activities involving hanging out with people who are my mom's age and older.
