I can't get worked up over people saying they're showing early. I understand fundamentally that the baby is still so small and tucked behind the pubic bone. But who said showing = baby? Your body is changing because you're pregnant, those changes show. If you weren't pregnant it wouldn't be happening. I don't know, I just feel silly with the whole "Yes, I'm pregnant. Yes, I have a belly now that I didn't used to and wouldn't if I weren't pregnant. But I'm not showing because it's not the actual baby".
Don't get me wrong, I'm still super annoyed by the "am I showing?", "I'm only showing early because I'm skinny", and the need to post bump pictures of bloat. I just can't get riled up over the definition of showing.
I agree with this. I don't like the constant questions or pics, but your body has changed. I believe you can have a little show at 12 weeks, no matter how many diagrams people post. I even asked my midwife about it because of TB. She said she has seen some BTDT moms start to show at 12 weeks.
Vaccines dont "cause" anything but healthy kids and the elimination of deadly and un comfortable illnesses. Vaccinate!
But my real UO is having a shower where I dont sit for hours opening gifts and creating more trash from yards of wrapping paper. Unwrapped with a gift tag please and thank you.

I think essential oils is simple the latest ponzi scheme (Mary Kay, Advocare, Pampered Chef) and 100% granola garbage.
I am with you! *fist bump* I have a FB friend that shills Arbonne NONSTOP. (You can earn a Mercedes, everything is soooooo natural, etc) and three or more times a year tries to get me to join as a 'consultant'. I just can't with that kind of stuff.
Haters going to hate! I'm proud of my Network Marketing Business (not any mentioned above), it's my ticket to retiring from my 9-5 come December and being able to stay at home with kids.
I block every Facebook friend I have that is trying to sell their awesome product on their private feed. I honestly don't know how any of them make money, it's like half of SAHMs sell something. I am a SAH so not knocking that.

Today I am getting my hair dyed and highlighted and I am not even a little bit sorry about it. I am almost 11w and I don't really believe all the crap about not dying your hair in the first tri. My sister is my hair dresser and she worked until she was 39 weeks, so if it was ok for her to breathe that stuff in day in and day out, then I don't see what the issue is for me for a couple hours.
We went on a family vacation to Denmark in Sept., and the soft serve there CHANGED MY LIFE. They call it "soft ice", and it is amazing. It's like a big waffle cone of real whipped cream, just a little colder and little firmer. Outstanding.

Even though I moved to Europe from America, Im not even the least bit excited that I live here.A lot of my friends are jealous and such but I just dont feel it. It doesnt feel like I moved too far away. The weather is practically the same, but the people arent always understandable. All i wanted was to live as a cute happy little family. Thats the only exciting part of being here.
So I read a story today on CNN about how a mother was forcibly quarantined with her 6 month old child because someone had been at the pediatrician the same day as her with a kid with measles. The parents of said kid had refused to vaccinate him and SURPRISE! He got measles. Now this poor mom is stuck in a 28 DAY QUARANTINE with her young daughter who is too young to even get a shot!
Urgh. Vaccinate your frickin kids.
This is exactly why I plan on either 1. Waiting in the car with my infant until it's our turn or 2. Going to a pediatrician that has a "well baby" waiting room

I intend to (hopefully) find a pediatrician that doesn't take anti-vaxx/unvaxed for no good reason (obviously there are kids with immuno issues that is different) kids. I know those docs exist, and I want to find one.
I mean, I like essential oils for smell (I put peppermint in my unscented lotion and it is amazing) or for small things I do think they work or at least don't hurt, but they don't cure pancreatic cancer (seriously, this was told to me by one of those MLM ridiculous oil sellers). One of the members of our CSA sells that crap and she wanted to try to sell it through them. I got waylaid and just did the smile and nod, but, no, a mix of oils did not cure your mom's pneumonia or your cousin's kid's autism. Not how that works.
MLMs are super popular among military spouses, so I'm constantly getting Facebook friended to try to get me to buy stuff. I do think Pampered Chef is nice stuff, but most of the rest of it, no thanks.

As much as I want to stay home and be a SAHM, I think I'd hate it, and I'd go crazy. I've worked since I was a teenager and I've never taken more than 12 days in a row off. I'm scared of all that unstructured time (even knowing I'll be super busy with Baby).

This was me and it was hard at first. I actually went back to work, I thought I would never want to SAH, then later decided to SAH when she was 10 months old. You really get into the swing of things after awhile though and it becomes your new normal. I think it gets a lot easier when they are older and walking and you can do actual things like the park or the zoo.
