I love free clothes too! I usually go through and take out the ones I like/without stains and pass on the rest.
And puck1182 we are very similar to you in our social lives. We just go wherever we need to go and DS comes with. Sometimes he will fall asleep sometimes he just plays. He is a kid whose week night routine is pretty much the same. He's usually in bed by 830. But a weekend night? Eh he could be up until 11. He is not a kid who looses his shit when he is tired, so as long as he's happy and enjoying himself we are too. He will sleep in the next day, take a good nap and be good as new.
photomama1990, that's how DD is as well. If she was the type to get super cranky over a change in sleep schedule, we might not be able to get away with it. But she's a pretty easy going, adaptable kid by nature, I think we just further enhanced those qualities by actively encouraging them.
I have never been to strick with schedules. If I have to do something during nap time, I usually just put him down early for nap, and make him go to bed earlier.
My MIL is posting anti vaccine articles on Facebook. It is annoying me so bad, and I know I can't say anything because there is no reasoning with them. Also I feel I should stay out of it to keep the peace, but damn it is killing to keep my mouth shut.
I would not be able to keep my mouth shut. That (her behavior) is so irresponsible. I do not understand how these anti-vaxxers cannot see the huge problems they are causing in our country with diseases coming back that were eradicated. I honestly wish we could send them all to Africa for a little bit to see the ravages of these disease and the lengths mothers will go through to get vaccines for their children. They can come back if they change their minds. Maybe.
I don't understand the desire to increase your post count. What difference does it make? Doesn't a high post count mean a lot of time online? Is that the goal? I just don't get it. Not trying to sound mean, just do not understand.
I participated in that thread, for fun, and to not be a noob. It doesn't really matter either way, but here is my forum ways. Clean, phone chimes check text, quick moment I see a little Tapatalk bubble, see what going on. Baby naps, finish laundry, hop on a sec. Nurse at night, play on phone while he nurse sleeps. So I think I get a lot done, house clean kids fed, played with, dressed clean, piano lessons, homework done, and you get to know if I like white or wheat bread

Oh I think the GTKY stuff looks fun, I just didn't understand the post count part. I don't have a smart phone so I only jump on the ipad or computer and maybe that's why I didn't get it as much.
I am not a fan of pink girls clothing. I just try really hard to avoid pink when I'm buying them for DD. I am super thankful when we get a gift, regardless of color. But I don't want to open her drawers and see pink in your face. I'm a girl. I know I'm a girl and I think I have two articles of clothing that are pink, so I guess I just don't get why there is soooo muuuuuch pink when you are looking for clothes for little girls.
This was true for me too...until DD turned three and decided she had an opinion about EVERYTHING. Now all she wants to wear is pink and purple and a glittery Hello Kitty shirt that is two sizes too small for her. Oh well. So enjoy dressing your kiddos however you want until they start dressing themselves!
The fun part is that we do let her dress herself, and she comes up with some weird combinations. One day she went to daycare wearing two skirts. Because, well, it was easier to let her express herself that way than to argue with her about it.
I don't like american cheese at all. I am typing this as I scrape the cheese on my burger that I asked twice they please not put any cheese on it. Hell I really don't like much cheese at all and eat it only when I go out for Mexican food. Why do people assume everyone loves cheese? Random I know
Well, probably because all sane people do.
I hate raw tomatoes. I can eat fresh ones in a salad if it's necessary for politeness, but the nasty soggy ones on sandwiches? Gross. And it happens to me all the time, too, that I order them without and the people forget. Or the already prepared sandwiches at bakeries in Germany - they just scrape the tomato off and then there's usually some nasty tomato guts and juice on the bread. Gag.
I am not at all sane so I guess that solves that lol
I am almost 100% with you on the tomato. I love a slice of fresh grown tomato with salt but do not put raw tomato on my sandwich as it gets gooey and not crisp. The juices are gross and become more acidic the longer they sit.

I let my 3 year old dd dress herself and she loves picking out outfits at the store. Today though, she had to buy a really ugly frumpy dress. I felt a little guilty, because I was trying to talk her out of it. Fortunately, once she got it on, it was actually kind of cute.
I wouldn't post that one even though it's in direct response. I think it's rather poorly written, and what the heck with calling nutritionists scam practitioners? I find that rather offensive. My cousin is a nutritionist and works on an oncology ward helping cancer patients find healthy diets that they can still manage to eat during chemo. How is that a scam?
You could, however, write a clearer response to the article and post it on your MIL's page. I would support that, and I'm sure you could do a better job than this linked response.
But if I were you, I wouldn't do either. I find that people who are that entrenched in their beliefs don't allow for differing opinions. They are simply right. Period. My MIL is this way on a couple of issues. All the logic in the world couldn't overcome the pure stubborn-willed belief she has in certain things.
The good thing about my bright pink coat is that it makes it easy for DH to find me if we divide and conquer in a store. It also got me interviewed on TV during the Inauguration.
jrome I wear a knee-length pink (I mean bright pink) coat, carry a pink handbag, and sometimes wear pink shoes. Too much? LMK.
I used to have a pink pea coat, I loved it. Unfortunately, I was an extra small when I bought it and now I'm nowhere near that so now I have blue and green instead, just not the same.
I love pink and purple, but I hate ruffles and tutus. I just can't do it. I fail to see how is comfortable or practical for a baby.
I own a pink peacoat no lie, I will take a pic for proof if needed my daughter also has a pink peacoat, we do not wear them together though because I draw the line at that!
You know what? Maybe I suffer from Pink envy. I am a natural redhead. I just can't wear Pink or Red very well, unless it's the right one. So, just pin me down as Jeally. It's not like I have a huge hate on for pink. It's just, it drives me when I go through her drawers and go "hmmm, what should you wear today? Pink, pink, or.... Pink?" Because, you know, I'm jealous....
I hated pink as a kid, I think it was because the pinks generally available for little girls were the most garish ones. I still don't wear much pink, actually, I'm not sure that I own any... But I do have more appreciation for it.
I love free clothes. Which is good, because we have been given so much I really only buy shoes and socks for my kid. Sometimes it can be a little frustrating getting gifts of clothes that are soooo not what I like for DS, because I don't feel like I have the same freedom to give those ones away. And because we have been given so much, and in such good condition, I don't feel like I "can" buy stuff for DS because I don't need to. But, then I just have to remind myself that because all of his play clothes have been taken care of, even on a tight budget I can afford to buy him good shoes or a nicer outfit that I otherwise wouldn't be able to justify.
