I need help trying to decide what to do without going into to much detail of finances. Me and baby boy are making it ok scraping by at the moment mostly because my mom allows my sister and I to share her house and pay only what we can afford and she takes care of the rest. The kids dad is no help. When second baby comes ill go thru the process of child support and everything else but he lives off the grid and is self employed so even if I am awarded anything from him ill never receive anything.
At the moment I love my job however when baby girl comes I can't afford daycare for both children, and when I asked about child care subsidies I make too much. I have the kids full time and a part time job on top of my full time would be impossible.
I feel like my only option at this point would be to quit my job and find a lower paying one in order to get state aid after the baby gets here which I really don't want to do and would feel super shity about. Are there other options that might help me that I may not have thought of? My bills are also already cut to minimum so there is no amount of budgeting I could do to make it work.
Little man is already in a home daycare and like I said it's the average for the area which for me is not hcol. Really for all that she does she should be charging more. She is also the best deal as most of the one's I have seen at a lower cost, which isn't much, are much lower quality.
I may have found a work around at my current job if they are willing to go for it. My currents in home daycare mom deals with the state more because she accepts the daycare subsidy and other programs. I told her about my problem and asked if she had any idea and told me that the state considers 6 hours as full time which with a quick calculations puts me just under the gross income amount need to receive some help. I again feel crappy about needing to get help and having to cut hours to do so but if that what I have to do then so be it. Thank you ladies for your responses,
