Things I'll never understand.

- why someone parallel parks into a spot (taking forever) when the spot is two car lengths long and they could have just pulled right in.

- why people insist on standing right outside the elevator door when they know it's likely packed with people trying to get off.

- why some people use Trader Joe's paper bags instead of trash bags, then line up twenty outside their home on trash day, but the wind/animals come through overnight, topple them over, and then trash is strewn around their home and the street.  If you're trying to save the planet with your paper bags (full of garbage so they won't be recycled) then you are failing a bit.  If you are just too lazy to buy garbage bags, then thanks for decorating the street.  Every week.  Jerk.

I love this idea for a thread!

-To go along with your parallel parking point- when people back their cars into spots when there really was no reason to and there are plenty of easy pull through spots available.

-People that spell my name wrong in emails, when my name is very clearly right in my email address. It's RIGHT THERE PEOPLE.

- People that think it's OK to continually ask when you are going to have babies, what's taking you so long, etc.

-Not trying to start a gun control debate here at all, but I do not understand how whenever gun control is talked about there are people that think "the government is trying to take all of our guns!" I haven't seen any proposals that suggest anyone is "taking all the guns." Gun CONTROL and gun BANNING are totally different topics and I feel like I'm in an alternate reality when I hear people argue about this.

Man, you guys have good ones. +1 for people waiting outside elevators (and buses and trains, ugh), people spelling names wrong, and people being tinfoil hat people about the gov.

I'll never understand when...

- People are at a red light and inch up over and over while the light is red, preparing to take off, but when it turns green they take forever to go! WTF.

- People walk close to the wall when turning a corner really fast and almost run smack into you. Pay attention!

I'm sure there are more.

ETA: Already thought of another. When people walk backwards in a public place while talking to someone. Did it occur to you that other people are nearby that you might step on?

I have trouble apparently with being invisible, lol.

- why events expecting 30,000 people don't have enough food/water/etc for ALL participants.
- people who spill their guts about their private lives all over social media.
- also, the same people who tell-all, but block family members from the posts. Um. people talk...

I really hate the cars that constantly in forward while stopped at a light. They are always around me too.

-I don't understand cars that stop 2 or 3 car lengths behind a vehicle at a stop light. I can only assume so if they are hit from behind they are least likely to slam into the front car? It's still strange to me and so many people do that here.

-Not only do I not understand writing checks for groceries, I *really* don't get why the person always pulls the checkbook out AFTER they are all bagged up. Why not be ready to just write the amount to hand to the clerk? No, let's take this extra 5 mins to fill in everything.

-Yesterday I parked on the 2nd level of a parking garage. It was completely full, but level 3 was empty. So as I was leaving, this guy followed me throughout the entire level as I walked to my car. It was creepy. Then he waited while I loaded all of my son's crap in the car and got him in the car seat. If he just went up 1 level, he'd have parked his car about 15 minutes earlier. Don't get people sometimes.

While I don't stop that far behind, I have been known to leave a big gap if the case below applies.

I don't understand why cars come to a stop light and then continuously idle forward at least a car's distance. Is it really that hard to judge distance as you slow to a stop? I realize it's a domino effect if the first person does, but it irritates me in my hybrid when I stop at a reasonable distance, my engine turns off, and then a few seconds later, there is a big gap as others inch forward. I don't want to idle forward because sometimes after doing so, my hybrid engine won't turn off again.

I just remembered another one that is specific to MH and my dad: I will never understand the compulsive need to find the closest parking space at the mall/grocery store/whatever. The time spent prowling through the lot like a shark for the perfect spot could have been reduced by just parking SOMEWHERE and walking.

- People who post those uber passive-aggressive pictures on Facebook--"sometimes you have to let the finch go to find your eagle" or whatever, with captions like "Yes, but I still miss them...". Or, even better, things like "Better know better than to talk to me like that!"

Nope, I do too. My above complaint about people turning corners and running into you seem to be a problem when people walk on the wrong side of the hall! Ugh!

I don't get grown people who talk with their mouth open. Clearly they don't understand that if their mouth is full of food they are unable to carry on a conversation without showing everyone their food and/or talking incoherently because their mouth is full of food!

OMG. This happened last year at my company. Someone sent something to the wrong distribution list. Someone else replied all telling them it was wrong. Queue 8 million people all using the reply all button to bitch out both the original sender and the replier about using reply all.

*head desk* I went from no emails to like 200 in the space of 20 minutes.

Why do people feel the need to chime in AGAIN after the first 5 people? Don't tell me you haven't noticed the other 5 emails on this.

We did a thing at our wedding where we put a bottle of wine in a box with letters to read when we have our first married monumental fight. I am 99% sure this will be what makes me open the wine.

I don't understand people who won't fall in a single file line while passing people. I went hiking yesterday and this group of people were coming towards me. It was a skinny trail with a drop off on one side and mountain on the other. They insisted on walking next to each other forcing me to practically kiss the rocks. Drop behind your friends for two seconds to let people walk by!

I actually think it is an amazing feat by the writers and actors, I have lots of respect for soaps, and in this reality TV age I will take all of the scripted drama.
