Don't flame me but I've stopped pumping. I have enough frozen to last almost another month if I do half and half. It was time to stop for several reasons.
It's been 30 hours since I've pumped and I'm hurting so bad. I have cement boulders on my chest. I currently am icing them with dailys frozen margarita packs ha.
When I talked to the LC about stopping she recommend that I still pump but decrease the frequency and duration. That way it wouldn't be painful. Your body just starts to think it needs to make less and less milk. Not sure if that is an option for you.
Take a hot shower and hand express a little. It will give you relief without your body thinking it needs to make more. Also, what lepeters said. Don't stop cold turkey. Stop every other session first, then slowly stop the remainder sessions. With DD, I weaned for a few weeks before stopping completely.
And no one should flame you. You do what is right for you and your family. As long as your kid is fed, it is not up to anyone to judge how you feed them!

Ya I wish I had gone that route. I feel like I've gone 30 hours and the end is in sights I just wait it out? Not sure
You might still have a few days of pain ahead of you. Some things I did when I weaned were a good tight supportive bra and gradually lowered feeding sessions. Sudafed will definitely help dry you up a bit and I have heard cabbage leaves as well. I think I also took some basic pain killers when I finally quit to take the edge off a bit.

I took the sudafed, I think it definitely helped. Hubby is going to get cabbage leaves now ha. I'm am definitely better today. Thanks for the help ladies.
No flames here, I'm still taking this pumping thing day by day. I was able to get her to latch directly early last week but not since then and it's crushed me. We have a pedi appointment tomorrow and I'm going to have her checked for a lip tie in case that's contributing. If I don't have luck getting her on the boob soon, I may at least be cutting back on pumping because the pumping and separate feeding time commitment is really taking some of the joy out of my time with her :-(

I feel ya. we gotta take care of ourselves too. I was getting so cranky and grumpy. I'm much happier now, well will be once this pain and engorgement goes away. The end is in sight and I can't wait to have my body back. Our babies are happier when we are happy.
There are a couple products out there that might help you: Earth Mama "No More Milk" tea (basically peppermint and sage), which will begin to reduce your milk production very quickly, and also a topical cream called Cabo Creme, made from cabbage leaf extract, which suppresses engorgement and helps reduce the aching.
And definitely no flaming here. Do what you need to do!

Thank you! Do u know where I can buy these?
Check babies-r-us. I have seen a lot of the Earth Mama products there. I'm sure target or other stores would have them also. Amazon does, but you probably don't want to wait for them to ship.
