I don't know if you have pets or not, but I have heard that the wet jet solution is really bad for animals. Apparently they can absorb it through the pads on their paws and it has potential to make them sick.
I don't know if you can use the steam mop on hardwood floors, but our steam mop works well on our tile floors. The only issue is that it does not pick up dust, it just pushes it around. I have sweep really well first and then use the steam mop and it still finds some dust.
I use Method wood floor cleaner with a microfiber dust mop. That seems to get most everything, and that is with a toddler, two dogs, and a cat.
That's what we use also. We dry dust then use this mop that has washable microfiber pads and a tank like the wet jet but you put your own cleaner in it.

I have all tile floors but I will give the recommendation of the steam mop as well. I love ours, it's a Shark as well but now I am so curious about the Bissell Symphony @ketchup
Will say I hated our WetJet. The solution left prints when you walked on it. Waste of money and we used it for years because I refused to give up on it.
