Awwwwww i love this!
I had gone for my appt that Tuesday, I was 37 weeks and a few days. 1 cm dilated which of course really means nothing so off I went until next week's appt or so I thought. MH was obsessed with getting our new jeep before the baby came and was dragging me all over dealerships and we finally found something but it was like an hour's drive away. We went on Friday, September 5th, it was sofa king hot but I was ok just back pain! We picked it up, drove home and then comes Saturday, i'm feeling blah but its still hot as hell so chaulked it up to heat. We went out for mexican food and he had a couple margaritas and ended up hanging out with my brother that night and I went to bed. Woke up at 1:20, stood up to pee and gush, water broke. OK I did not have this little dribble or gush people say, it was literally pouring out so i'm like "i think my water broke"LOL...called the dr, said to head in and I took a shower and packed my bags. I was 38 weeks. Got to the hospital around 3:30am, no contractions, tested the fluid, of course water had broke, kept standing up and it would literally just keep gushing out, WTF! Hubs was starting to feel hungover since he had never gone to bed...we waited in a tiny triage room till like 6:00am or something. Still no contractions or at least anything worth mentioning but they could see them monitoring me. I'm thinking "wow this isn't so bad" how mistaken I was...so hubs takes a nap, I couldn't really sleep just too anxious. Nothing really progressing so they mention Pitocin and want to start it around 10:00am. They still hadn't checked me and didn't want to really because of infection risk with my water breaking i guess and I wasn't really laboring. Started pitocin, nothing too bad, 10:30, ok now i'm starting to feel something...Well once it started it got intense, they finally check me and I say I am holding off on the epidural unless I'm only like 1-2 cm still, at first check, i'm at like 6 cm so I'm like yes I can do this! HOLY SHIT thats when it got crazy, now I'm like OK I CAN'T DO THIS, page the anesthesiologist, I'm dying! They page her, check me one more time before she comes in and says forget it, its too late, your at 10 cm, time to push. I thought contractions were bad, um pushing was AWFUL, I pushed for 1.5 hours, never thought it was going to end, I was a sweating, screaming lunatic but out she came at 1:57pm which all things considering not terrible. Active labor around 4 hours.
She was 6lbs. 14 oz, 20 inches long. I have no idea how anyone pushes out bigger babies, she felt like 30 lbs to me!
Sorry if this is so long but didn't know how much detail to give
About to leave work but will post pic when I get a chance.
ETA: Here we are leaving the hospital, she looks so tiny!
Poof a year later!
