Install it! It's safer plus once you check it there is risk of unseen damage or it could get lost.

I don't have any experience but I think I would try to install it. I'd like to think that it'd keep your LO in his seat longer then if not using one (if he is anything like my DD and super antsy).

We install it (last flew with DS when he was 20mo). It's a familiar seat for him to sit in and it keeps him more contained. Also more likely he'll sleep.

Definitely install it! It's amazing how quickly they figure out how to ubbuckle the airplane seatbelt... Haha.
