Today we we're scrolling through old pictures on the computer and we got to when DS was born, he was preemie and had cords and tape and such all over:
We told DS that was him as a baby and he looked confused and said 'baby Ian owie?'
I don't think looking back at his pictures have ever made me emotional like they did right then.
I feel for all you NICU mommas! Yall are special people! Malcolm only had a couple hour stay in the nicu for blood sugar staying too low for too long and every time I look back at those pictures I cry. I cried then and my mom came at 4am and I cry now looking at the pics. It sucked so bad to have him taken from me and then HOURS later a nurse finally comes in and tells us he had to go to NICU.
DH is taking the first nighttime feeding with O so I can sleep. This is the first time he's doing it. I'm so excited for the prospect of sleep that I can't settle my brain enough to go to sleep.

This would be me exactly if this situation were ever to arise in my life. Too good to be true! The only way SO ever takes a MOTN wake-up is if I frantically wake him up for it because I'm beyond exasperated and at the end of my patience. I swear the man could sleep through anything!

So, here are my options for returning to work:
1. Full time split shift, meaning Tuesday through Friday I would work 715 am to 830 pm with anywhere from a 1 to 6 hour break in between, plus 8 am to 1 pm on saturdays 2. Part time, monday through Thursday 4 to 830 pm and Saturday 8 am to 1 pm (possibility for additional hours taking the airport shuttle during the week at night) 3. Decline both of those and have 90 days to find a position with the company, and be terminated if I can't. Nowhere within a reasonable distance of me is hiring at this time.

musicfrk2002 why isnt working 7:15am to 4pm an option when working 4pm to 8pm is? And did you have to work saturdays before pregnancy? All of those options sound unappealing. Could you remind/share what you do?

Working 715 to 4 isn't an option because the split route is one that's approx 715 to 9 am, then one that's 3 to 8 or so. The 4 to 830 is a completely different position.
I was a Dg agent working 1 to 930 m-f at fedex. Since I was out past my 12 weeks of fmla, I get stuck with the scraps. It's the time of year where nothing is open because they're preparing for the holiday rush. I wasn't working saturdays before so that will suck, but it's one less day to find a babysitter/daycare for.
