I'm off today for the Holiday! So why am I up at 6:30 am ?? Pregnancy insomnia is real. Good luck today to anybody who has an appointment! I'm going to the lab to get blood drawn. My doctor gave me the lab request paperwork a week ago and I'm just getting around to it. Better late than never. Since I'm up, I might as well get dressed and be the first one there to avoid a line.
For the first time in almost two weeks, IT'S SUNNY THIS MORNING! Blue skies and mid-60s today... I see a park date in our future. So grateful for sunshine after so much rain!

I can't wait until next week when this stupid high school show opens. These teens are driving me insane and I NEVER get to be with my own children! I miss MY kids but I'm stuck with these jerks! On a lighter note I bought cupcakes last night on my way home as a surprise for my kids and I'm not sure if there will be any left when they get home today!
It is sooooo foggy here this morning! But luckily traffic was light because of the holiday, so I had to watch for fewer idiots driving with their lights off. Pet peeve.
Also, I had a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast and I would totally eat 3 more if they were available to me. Nom.
Good morning! I don't know if it's pregnancy insomnia or what but lately I wake up around 5am to panic & worry about all the stuff. Not the best way to start my days. I got a peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks yesterday thanks to all the hot chocolate talk in here & it was great. I could go for another one now.
I am currently waiting for the NP that I am following to get to the hospital for my rotation. I am going to have to get new pants soon. Last time I wore scrubs and barely had to buy new clothes. Now I have to dress nice for clinic and have to buy maternity clothes.

My 18 month old came into the bathroom and patted my back while I was throwing up this morning. It was pretty much the sweetest thing. Now let's just hope that we can get through our towns Remembrance Day ceremony without her being obnoxious. Hopefully there's no "PUPPIES!!!!" or people that glance at her with a remotely friendly face near us.

I am dreading how many maternity clothes i'm going to have to buy... my first time around i was due in February and could wear normal clothes until October. This time around - due in June and already in maternity... I'm going to need to buy for a whole other season of shorts and tank tops and t-shirts. Good thing I have a pretty great consignment store because in rural PA we have ZERO maternity stores. We have target (which is crap and not good for work) Kohls, which is a tiny selection and then two racks of Motherhood at Macy's....

I wake up at 4am without fail every day... sometimes I can get back to sleep, but other times my brain won't shut off! I have a meditation app on my phone that I am going to try next time I can't sleep. Also a peppermint hot chocolate sounds delicious... I need one today

I got a LOT of maxi dresses last summer for my pregnancy. Most of them were not maternity. They had a bit of rouching on the side and were able to grow (and shrink) and be worn a ton. Also maxi skirts go a long way as well. Not sure what you're allowed to wear at work, but a maxi dress, a belt above the belly and a blazer can go a long way!
I feel like a terrible wife... I had a girlfriend scan me at work to see the baby. It was just transabdominal so not the best picture. I haven't told my husband yet that I got to see the baby's heartbeat. She offered yesterday and I took her up on it. I did it a lot with DD. But, now I feel incredibly guilty about it.

I wouldn't turn down an offer, either. Maybe just tell him, he'll probably be happy that everything is okay so far?

I was so confused at people calling today a "holiday" in here. It's not really considered a "holiday" here and I was thinking somehow it was American thanksgiving already. I wouldn't have minded skipping ahead two weeks, really
I'm out of regular hot chocolate. I have a tin of raspberry hot chocolate I'm too chicken to try

So I just got back to my office after my first OB appointment and I keep thinking about that sweet, sweet little heartbeat I heard and I just don't think there is any way I'm going to get any work done today. I wish I had the day off. And now I want hot chocolate. Actually, I'm ravenous! I think I need a second breakfast.

The little one patting you on the back while you were sick is just the sweetest thing. Kids are so cute sometimes without even realizing it.

Nah, don't feel bad. I worked in a cardiac/vascular clinic when i was pregnant the firs time around - and we peaked ALL THE TIME. I kind of even knew DD was a girl before DH. Perk of being the mom!!
Also... jjh1119, I'm rather anti-maxi dress. Maybe it's because I'm short and jealous of the tall glamorous girls who can get away with it. But there are a couple girls I work with who wear them too tight and i can see all their dimples and underwear line so they have kind of tainted the whole garment for me. I know, i'm sorry, sometimes i can really be a judgy bitch.

Flair Underwood, I feel the same way about maxi dresses... they always seem so clingy and unflattering on about 75% of body types out there. Maybe that makes me judgy too
pistachiomuffin, that's the cutest thing, glad you have some extra support from your toddler!
Flair Underwood, I'm also worried by the amount of maternity clothes I will need to buy for work. Last pregnancy I was in maternity gear from June - November and we had a really warm autumn and I worked solely from home. So I have virtually nothing.
DH and I are both off today for Veteran's Day and DS's school is closed so I'm trying to think of something fun for us all to do today. My decision is mainly focused around where we can go out for delicious lunch.
Haha- I wore maxi's all last summer during my pregnancy- this summer was all tank tops and shorts and refused to even look at one. It's just a good piece that grows with you. Totally understand getting the wrong fabric/too tight pieces. Though those must have been really hard for those people to find. How does one FIND a tight maxi??
