My LO has been bottle fed almost since birth. For the first two weeks he always had to wear a bib and he had formula down his face and all over his bib. After about two weeks he seemed to get a handle on things. Now he never wears a bib and rarely spills a drop.
Luke does that too. It seems to be worse if he isn't super hungry. We were supplementing and I was trying to sneak in an ounce here or there and if he wasn't hungry he would just let it roll out of his mouth.
We are using to same bottles/nipples, but he also did it with the Avent bottles.
Have you tried doing the paced feeding method where you let them do a few swallows, then bend the bottle nipple to stop flow for a few seconds? We've been doing it like in this video and it has helped DD not guzzle her milk down as fast and cut down on some mess.
