Very cool. And ew to research... this makes me think that if I ever go back for my masters I will probably also have take another research class. Do not want to do that.
Ugh, Research Methods was my least favorite undergrad class too. I actually ended up postponing grad school after I had to drop out of Stats my senior year because it confuses the hell out of me. I've been a case manager for 7 years. Having a MSW degree makes such a difference when looking for a decent paying position.I'm currently trying to figure when to go back to school for my master's but I will be leaving the field to pursue Library Science.
No way, I'm a case manager too! Although I'll probably leave the mental health field after I get my MSW. I'm thinking of heading towards the medical field, but I haven't made up my mind yet.
What made you want to make the jump to library science?

Stats is another one! Ahhh, so many terrible memories, lol. Both my stats class and our research class were absolutely awful. I am so not a numbers person.
Don't spoil anything for me!! @iliketurtles carolinaheart
I am at the very beginning of Season 3... and of course Netflix has this extra man on the picture for the show that I don't recognize and is clearly someone who will be introduced later.
You still have a whole season till he shows up but just you wait. ::drool::

Could not agree more! Reading research articles is one thing, but actually doing the research and writing about it...I hate it. It's one reason I didn't want to get my PhD, because a dissertation would be the death of me.

I got stuck doing all the stats work for our study in PT school...SPSS can suck my lady balls. As much as I hated research in school, I do feel it is extremely useful in my day to day job now.

We'll see if I can make it there by the morning, lol. I need to try to actually go to bed at a reasonable hour! It is too easy to get sucked in and just keep watching.

I do service coordination which is considered targeted case management. Unfortunately, I'm a little burnt out because our caseloads jumped from 25 to 40 with minimal pay increase. We now have a "goal" of 30 billables a month. It's a goal since they arent allowed to give us set quotas. Since you cant really schedule when families and individuals have crises the minimum billing is rough.
Edit: The switch is because I didn't know it was an option when I started college. I've always been at home around books. I would love to work in archives. I actually started as a biochem major and couldn't handle the math.

Oh SPSS....the amount of meltdowns and tears that program brought me is ridiculous. That's cool that you use it in your job though!

Research is a wonderful thing... and I feel like maybe hands I might be able to get through it, like if I were helping to actually do the research. I love me some evidence based practice, lol. But that classsssss, ugh. Didn't help that I had the worst professor ever.
My battery on my computer is about to be dead and I think that means it is time for me to go to sleep. Plus my kitten is seriously craving attention and it's either throw her across the room because she is biting my fingers while I type or get off of here! Better get off!

I'm getting my Master's in Social Work. Right now I'm working on research methods, which was my LEAST favorite class in undergrad. I never thought I'd have to take it again, except way harder, haha.

If it's in nursing, you will. Nursing research is AWFUL. I had to retake that and also nursing theory in my MSN program. Blah.

That makes me want to cry... Although, depending upon where my career path takes me I am leaning more towards a masters in business and healthcare admin as opposed to a more clinical degree. So maybe I will be safe?
cateyes yay for OUAT coming back! I was just telling DH I needed to figure that out. Thanks!
