Tl;dr Someone at the elementary has been leaving feces in the gym so the teachers divided the kids by gender and made them lower their pants so they could look for fecal stains. In front of the other kids. Kids were about 11 years old.
I heard this on the radio this morning. I would be very upset. I'm sure the kids were mortified. Plus I don't get how checking the underwear would solve the mystery. There wouldn't necessarily be a stain.
"Gustine Independent School District Superintendent Ken Baugh is investigating the matter in hopes of getting the story straight. He said his understanding was that children were told to lower their pants just a little."

As a teacher, I can say this horrifies me. I cannot imagine anyone I know in the profession even suggesting such a thing. We had a problem with kids flushing huge wads of TP and flooding the bathroom, and spreading feces on the walls. You know at we did? Installed cameras outside the bathroom, so that when something was reported we could look at the tapes and see who'd been in there. Pretty simple.
Holy cow! I would be IMMEDIATELY pulling my kid from that school and suing anyone/everyone that I could. That is more than completely unacceptable. 1000000000000% And I would be trying to figure out if I can get the police involved or SOMETHING. Because, that is beyond not okay. There would be hell to pay for sure.
I know they usually don't allow phones in school but I will explain to my child, "son, if any adult ever asks you to drop your pants or expose yourself in any manner, please feel free to run away and call me and the police immediately. I will make sure you are in absolutely no trouble for this. Momma don't play"
Sooooooo much this! i can't believe the kids thought this was acceptable.
I just am filled with rage and wanting to cry all at the same time. That has to be mortifying to the kids. No matter how much the teachers want to "justify" the situation, they have probably scarred these kids and put them in emotionally compromised positions. i can't believe that someone thought this was ok.
And these kids will always struggle with the obedience of teachers from here on out. They were told by people that are to love and care for them to do something wrong. It is going to create a huge trust issue for the rest of their lives.
Just watched the video. I think that superintendent is a freaking idiot and I would be finding out how to fire him as well. I don't care if it was "Just a little" or full on drop your britches. It is not acceptable and he should not be trying to justify any form of indecency.
It's crazy that anyone thought that this might be an OK idea in the first place, but it's almost worst that they are now trying to make excuses & justify it.
Admit that people were stupid & that it was wrong!
I would completely lose my mind if this happened to my kid.

At that age children know and are taught that they have a right to privacy of their own person. This is a complete violation. If I was a kid and this happened to me I would have been mortified.

I can't even...I just can't.
I can't bold on mobile, but I'm pretty sure the kids didn't think what happened was acceptable.
This is definitely sexual abuse. I hope this guy goes down.
