Today is my first time flying solo with our 14 month old (we've flown a bunch before but always with H). The one who abhors sitting still. And I realized to get to the airport on time I have to pick her up at naptime which means she probably won't nap today. And our flight gets in after bedtime. Plus the logistics of carrying her and all our stuff through the airport.
And I can't even have a glass of wine when we get there tonight.

I've done this several times, good luck! It's so hard to entertain one year olds on a flight alone. I felt a little guilty about it, but I found some awesome baby videos online that distracted him a bit.
I'm basking in not being the sole one in charge of everything. My H is taking care of all my dog's medication right now (he has this whole routine we have to do twice a day now), and he's about to get DS up. He's staying home today. Yay!!!

Good luck with the flight, packerfan4life! Are you on your way to visit family? I hope that you at least have some people who can help out with the kiddo once you get there. I know I would be exhausted after wrangling a 14mo on a flight!
frecklesnbrains, sounds like a very detailed dream! You must have been hungry while you were sleeping.
txmommy14, hooray for having H to help with things at home! That has to be such a nice change!
I'm feeling bad about work right now because I am so tired and feeling ill and I know it is reducing the quality of my work. My boss doesn't know what is going on (and I have no interest in telling him right now), but I am still feeling really bad.
@packersfan4life I hope travelling goes okay today - I'd be anxious too. We travelled with DD when she was about 14 months and she had more fun playing peek a boo with the gentleman behind me - he was a saint for entertaining her like he did. txmommy14 that's great! I'm glad he's staying home today too! Hope you enjoy your day! frecklesnbrains if eggs weren't making me nauseous I'd be hungry too....pancakes and fruit salad though - please! littleducky try not to feel bad. Do what you can - I know it's hard. It's temporary. If it's really affecting you though and you're worried, a discussion with your boss might be worth while even if you don't want to. Or maybe another trusted coworker you can team up with for a little bit to make sure things don't get missed? (I have no idea what you do so I'm hoping a solution if needed is available to you)
Im beyond exhausted today. DH is a sleep walker and he was sleepwalking SO MUCH last night. I hate it. I've tried to get him to do a sleep study or something, but he doesn't think it's a problem. And I guess in the grand scheme it hasn't been, but it worries me....and makes me very tired.

cattuccino, I'm sorry you're exhausted today, too. It is no fun. I would definitely be bothering my husband to do a sleep study if he was sleep walking. That could be dangerous! I've heard of people getting in cars or walking out the front door asleep.
As far as my job, there isn't anyone else who can do my work. I work in a very, very small office (just 4 people total) and there is zero overlap between our jobs. I'm getting my work done, and I think I'm doing a decent job, but it's hard to feel like I'm working to the same standard when I'm this tired. Hopefully the fog lifts within the next month or two.
littleducky I hear you, I'm having the same problem at work. I hope you have s good day today. Because of talk of more lay offs at my work I'm nervous that things that would normally go unnoticed are being noted and held against me.
littleducky, don't feel guilty... it's temporary. You just need to remind yourself of that! I agree with cattuccino, if you feel it warrants an explanation, I'd consider having one with him or a colleague just so they know what's going on and can cut you some slack.
cattuccino, that would totally freak me out! Does he just walk around the house? Does he do anything while he's up and about?
It's been a good morning here; productive-ish. I'm starving and really just want Panera mac and cheese and a caesar salad. Surely they use pasteurized eggs in their dressing since it's a big chain...? I'm normally pretty strict about that kinda stuff, but GIMME ALL THE CAESAR SALADS RIGHT NOW. I suppose I could call and ask but the people don't usually know the answer (or maybe they just don't give me the one I want to hear...)
littleducky, I agree that you shouldn't feel guilty! This will pass!
GOmamab15, I'm so sorry about your stressful work situation. ((hugs))
cattuccino, I had a boyfriend one time that would sleep walk - it totally freaked me out! Does he talk in his sleep as well?
I went to the dentist this morning and managed to not vomit! I was super worried since I have been really nauseous this morning, but I held it together!
packerfan4life. I travelled a lot with my son by myself. My advice is lots of toys and snacks. He was more into my wallet and keys and the people around but good to have lots of distractions. Also, iPad is great but typically doesn't work without wifi so make sure to download a movie before you leave your house.
Warning: vent! I finally got hit with my son's flu bug. I was throwing up all night then it switched to diarrhea around 6am (sorry tmi). My body was saying lets just clear you out entirely! My husband is gone so I have to someone take care of a 2 year old while sick this afternoon and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm so annoyed because we both got flu shots. Wasn't that to prevent this? Now I need to attempt to eat something but half of me is scared it'll come back out and half of me is pregnant and wants nothing to do with food. It's a great day at least the sun is shinning very bright and I'm able to take a sick 1/2 day while ds is at school this morning.
Edited to add: I now know how all of you feel throwing up all the time and kuddos to you for managing all of this your first trimester. I hope it gets better for everyone!

Sometimes he talks. When DD was younger he seemed to think she was crawling around on the floor a lot and would chase or find her. And he "looks for stuff" a lot - like flashlight on his phone looks because he's "lost" something but can't articulate what (one instance last night). Last night he kept thinking I was something or someone else because I'd wake up to him doing shit to my face or holding me or whatever and it freaks me out.
He normally stays in our bedroom - often ends up in the bathroom or closet.
There was an instance when DD was just born and we were still in the hospital and he had moved her in his sleep - he didn't remember moving her and I woke up to her crying and couldn't find her, she wasn't in the bassinet - but he had her but managed to cover her with a blanket. I LOST MY MIND. Granted it had not been long since the nurses check in every friggen hour but still.
And I already have anxiety and I wish he understood that though that's "only happened once" and was definitely extenuating circumstances (many days without sleep) it's still in the back of my mind. I try to remember to close the gate at the top of the stairs. I tell him "incase DD decides to learn to climb out of her crib" but part of it is him too.

oh no mladerri! I hope it passes quickly and you're feeling better - being pregnant is hard enough without added bodily evacuations! It could be a different bug and not the influenza flu. The flu shot covers only influenza...and only some strains.
cattuccino that is terrifying. I would def push sleep study. Are there pills to take for sleep walking or is it a behavior change you have to make? Or just feel with it? Once the baby is involved that's where I draw my line.

I think it's really schedule changes and his own sleep cycle - his hours have been all over this week so he's out of routine etc. I also think if he has sweets/caffeine before going to bed it plays a role, too.
It used to be so rare and funny.
But now that we have a child it's scary.
I think i'm going to breach a discussion about a sleep study or at least seeing his doctor or something to see what he recommends/thinks etc.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well, mladerri! Thankfully most tummy bugs only last a day or two. Unfortunately the flu shot won't prevent a stomach virus. What people refer to as the stomach flu isn't actually influenza. Influenza is a nasty respiratory infection. Still - either way, being sick is NO fun and I hope you're on the mend soon!

I'm getting really anxious about my NT scan tomorrow.
I was excited, but now the nerves are setting in, I don't know if it's also because H won't be able to come with me...or just my anxiety and pgal brain. Thankfully it's first thing in the morning so I won't have long to wait...but still....nerves.
I really need to go back to work tomorrow but I'm in a bit of a Catch 22. My doctor has me on two diclectin at night and said I can go up to two more during the day to a max of four. I definitely need more than just the two, but I'm worried that if I tell her that she'll tell me to take more time off work. My classroom is falling apart and it's spiking my anxiety not being their to control things. I don't know what planet she's on that she thinks I can just take a whole bunch of time off work. I'm pregnant, not sick.

Ugh, pgal brain is the worst. I'm sorry you're stressing, cattuccino. I have an OB appointment tomorrow too and she is going to check on the bean with the portable ultrasound and I'm also a bit nervous. FX for good scans for both of us.
regal, that sounds super stressful. Why does your doctor want you to be home from work?

Apparently diclectin has a ton of associated risks and it's safer for me to just stay in bed and deal with all day nausea.
I need to find a new doctor but they are literally impossible to find.
regal, have you tried diclegis? I have had HG with both pregnancies and diclegis has been, by far, the easiest one to take and you can take up to four. I am only using 2 because I am nervous to take a medicine during the day that makes me sleepy, but it definitely helps. Sorry, I don't know why doctors think you just have unlimited leave sometimes!
My boss got a new position (still with the company) and is in her last week with our team. I can't stand her and I am dying for this week to be over. Here are some of my favorite recent gems, and I SWEAR, these are exact quotes:
1. (After she heard me vomiting in the restroom) "I would feel bad for you, but I really don't because after all this, you get a baby and the end and when I get the flu I don't get anything out of it." Um, 'scuse me bitch, when you get the flu you stay home. I can't stay home for three months straight. BYE.
2. In this situation, she (dog owner) is lecturing me (dog owner and actual mother) on how to parent: "And I mean, you should take my advice because honestly, having a dog is much more challenging than having a toddler because at least your toddler can tell you what's wrong." Yes, please tell me in what world my extremely logical and rational 3 year old is able to tell me what's wrong at 2am when he's freaking the fuck out. Also, do you pay over 1k per month for someone to watch your dog? Does your dog cling to you like a koala when you leave them in morning, saying, "But I want you! I want you!" Nope. STFU.
3. "But with morning sickness, can't you just have some tums or something and go about your day? I don't understand why you feel so terrible all day long. But at least it's for a reason I guess, so you should just try to suck it up and get over it."

regal, I'm surprised your doc is so conservative about Diclectin (which is the Canadian version of the same drug that is marketed as Diclegis is the US). There are no studies that show any statistically significant increased risk with it, though it received some bad press because the initial published safety data were overstated (meaning, the study initially indicated that the drug was associated with a DECREASED risk of bad fetal outcomes, but this turned out not to be the case - it's just equivocal). Personally, I'd ignore her and take 4/day if you need it.

The boots I ordered for DH yesterday just came... I opened the box and the one looks like shiiit. There is a big ding in the front, the leather is all scuffed on the one side and i swear it looks like someone tried them on at the company and walked around in them. So - i called them, began my return process on this and bought another pair. So now I have TWO PAIRS of these stupid $$$ boots on my credit card bill and God only knows how long it will take for a refund to hit. end rant.
Also - I'm so sorry, i really feel like all I do on here is talk about myself.
