Congratulations to our newest grad tiresiastheblond!!! Adding a quick update to congratulate winogirl in welcoming her baby boy into the world on 11/21!!!
More updates!!! manderslvt welcomed her baby girl into the world on 11/27 and b0710 welcomed her baby boy into the world earlier today, 12/1!!!
Finn.egan Nic.hol.as was born Saturday 11/21 at 2am at 5lbs12ounces and 19.25inches.
My water broke on that Thursday morning and i had to go in for cervadil that night. Labor progressed really slowly but after about 24 hours we finally got to pushing. My placenta didn't deliver so they had to remove it manually and then i got a whole ton of stitches.
Finn then had low temps and,low blood sugar so he went to the NICU until Thanksgiving when he was finally discharged.
He had his first pediatrician visit on Friday and it went great. They essentially to chill out and not worry quite as much because the NICU has to be that way but in reality he is totally fine and we can start treating him like a regular baby. It is so hard though, im super paranoid about every little shake or shiver he does (shaking is a symptom the nicu told us to look out for in case his blood sugar dropped again)
I cant believe he is a week already!!
Personally, im feeling much better even though the emotions are all over the place.

Congratulations, winogirl! I'm glad you're all home and doing well!
**possible c/p and general bad attitude**
Thanks for including me, agpjt413! I'm not sure I'm going to be around here long, but I might as well post while I can. RE won't let me go for betas until tomorrow, but I can tell from daily FRERs that HCG is increasing way too slowly and that I'm way behind where I should be at this point (15 dpo). I'm holding on to the idea that frozen embryos can take awhile to get with it, but it's pretty pathetic.
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable 4 weeks 1 day. I don't know, mushroom spore or something?
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Frustrated. We transferred 2 of our 3 normal embryos, and it looks very likely that I'm headed for a c/p. I'm super annoyed with my RE for not letting me come in earlier for betas so I could know what was going on and stop meds if needed. I have one more retrieval covered, but it needs to happen this calendar year, and if I need it but miss it because of their ridiculously late (17 dpo!) beta, I'm going to be so angry.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? That pretty much covers it.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Beta Tuesday.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Yes, please.
QOTW: I'm not really big into holiday movies. Does Bad Santa count?

How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable 26+5
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Emotionally, I feel fine. Physically, I'm tired and already a little uncomfortable. Sitting is uncomfortable. Standing is uncomfortable. Laying down is uncomfortable. I still have three months to go and wondering how this kid can get any bigger.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? We have yet to do anything for this baby. I know once the holidays are over, time is going to fly by so I need to get on it. It's just so different with number 2. With DD, we had the room almost finished and started buying the big items by now. With this one, I haven't even sent in the hospital pre-registration which I was supposed to do at 22 weeks. Whoops.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Next appointment is next week and I'll do my GTT. Can't believe I'll almost be in the third tri.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Just T&Ps for an uneventful pregnancy and for those who are awaiting results.
QOTW: Favorite holiday movies!!! My Christmas season doesn't officially start until we've watch Love Actually and Christmas Vacation.

How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable 17 weeks 6 days (as of midnight) baby is an onion.
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Physically I am exhausted and could sleep half the day away if allowed. Nausea and vomiting seem to slowly going away finally. Still happens occasionally (like this morning) but its tends to be shorter in length and happening less often. RLP is unbearable the last couple days.....wow. Emotionally is going the the same way as the nausea and vomiting......my anxiety is easing and becoming less overwhelming. It still happens but I don't spend every day all day in fear anymore. The doppler I bought helps ease my worry when i need and surprisingly I only use it here and there....def not every day. The last few times I used it was to let family hear baby's little heart.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? I felt LO move this week, that was nice. I can't wait till he or she is stronger and those little kicks become obvious to me at all times and not just when I am sitting quietly where its easier to notice. I think we will really start baby prep after we get the room cleared out, painted and flooring put in.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? I have a regular appt on Tuesday.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Just my usual request for my dad's continued healing. He is cancer free!!!! Now we just need the other issues to clear up. He returned to work....a little too early for my taste but its probably best in his endeavor to regain strength. He is now walker free and walks with a cane. That was a wonderful site to see on Turkey Day. It made it feel like there were momentous strides in his health already. I cried like a crazy woman when he told me there was no cancer and I saw him physically stronger than i had in all these months.
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!! I will post one soon as I can. Im bad about taking photos even though I am clearly pregnant
QOTW: Favorite holiday movies!!! And Go! I love the classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
Congrats winogirl and so glad things are better! Must be lovely to have him home. tiresiastheblond, am sending you tons of thoughts and vibes and prayers if you want them. zombiesquad, am glad you said that about the 2nd - I'm already so much less organised this time around, there's just too much else I have to do! KirstenAlecia, lots of vibes for your dad! I'm so glad he's doing better. Sorry you're still feeling so terrible. I had a pretty awful pregnancy with DD so I totally understand.
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable: 9 weeks
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Emotionally I was doing much better after our great scan last week but a good friend just had a m/mc at 10 weeks so now I'm double-guessing every single twinge. I hate this part. Physically I'm a disaster - starving and sick all the time. Already gained weight and also have a cold right now so it's just awful. I went to bed at 7pm last night!
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? Had my first midwife appointment today so it's starting to feel real! Had to bring DD due to a childcare issue and it was hilarious trying to focus on the questions while corralling a cranky, tired toddler. Interesting view of the times ahead!
Upcoming milestones or appointments? nothing interesting until the 23rd December for my next scan.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Nope, I'm okay :-)
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!! ;)Insanely I moved into maternity clothes this week. 2nd baby + 'baby' weight still hanging around mean I look pregnant already. Ridiculous.
QOTW: Favorite holiday movies!!! And Go! We always watch Elf while decorating the tree :-)
ZOMG tiresiastheblond!!! I have everything crossed for you. All the love headed your way!
winogirl, congrats on your baby boy. I hope you are doing well.
Not much happening here.
P is 5.5 months
We officially have him out of the RnP and he is "sleeping" in the mini PnP now. Twice this week he slept until after 8:30 instead of getting up at 7:00. All steps in the right direction.
Next well baby appt is next Tuesday. I'm dying to know how much he has grown in the last two months because people keep mistaking him for a 9-10 month old. He's a lean guy but so long.
We met Santa yesterday!
QOTW: I love Elf, Home Alone, and A Christmas Story

Sorry I've been MIA but this preg-induced carpal tunnel has killed my ability to type much on my phone so I have to wait until I am at my laptop and then I feel too much time has passed or I am just too tired!
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable: 38+5 :: Swiss Chard
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? over.it.x1000. I have painful swelling, pregnant-induced carpal tunnel and am just consistently run down/moody.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? We really have tried to finish stuff around the house the past two weekends but I get so winded and nauseous that it's taken longer than planned. A few more shelves to hang in the nursery and a few more Christmas decorations to put up inside but then I think we're in good shape.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Weekly NST and check tomorrow afternoon. Sincerely hoping for getting my induction scheduled b/c I can't continue like this for much longer.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Just that the docs get on the same page and get this Baby Girl outta me ASAP!
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!! Here is an impromptu shot from last night. Hubs was recreating something I saw on Pinterest, which turned into the dog being cute so we photographed her under the tree with her couch. When I went over to get her to hold position she started being super cute with me and the belly so hubs kept shooting.
QOTW: Favorite holiday movies!!! And Go! I, too, am a classic Rudolph girl KirstenAlecia ! And Die Hard =)

Hi everyone! I'm emerging from a 10 day blur of activity and wanted to post my somewhat overdue birth story.
Short and sweet version: Michael Stephen was born on Nov. 20th at 1:50 AM EST weighing 6 lbs, 3 oz and measuring 18 inches long.
Warning: it's a bit graphic.
On November 19th (which was 37 weeks according to my OB and 36+5 by lmc) I was feeling very tired, despite having slept the night before. I gave myself permission for a lazy day at the office and rather than walking around as I usually would I spent the day doing computer work. I noticed at some point that I felt somewhat crampy, but I figured it was constipation or indigestion coupled with me wearing the maternity belt so I didn't think too much of it.
I left work and got home around 7. I had promised my husband that I would help him cook turkey for his office potluck so I put together a brine and was busy doing a few other things. All the while, I still didn't feel well. At one point I found myself lying on the floor of my husbands office in an attempt to make myself more comfortable. that didn't work, however, so I decided to take a shower. I stayed in the shower for about 20 minutes and I was feeling a bit better. It was now around 11.
I mentioned to my husband that I hadn't felt the baby move in a few hours which was making me a little nervous. He had been able to hear the baby's heartbeat for some time by putting his head over my belly above where the baby's chest was, so he put his head against me, found it, and tapped out the rhythm for me. That made me feel better. I went and laid down in bed and my husband sat on his side playing a game on his laptop. I had only been lying there for about 2 minutes when I felt a little wetness. I was all annoyed thinking I had leaked a little so I walked back into the bathroom with my hand at my crotch to keep from leaking further. Once I was in there ( and over the tile) I pulled my hand away and looked at it. That's when I saw it was blood, not urine. I called out to H that we needed to go to the hospital and I held up my hand to show him. I always forget that he has terrible eyesight, though, and he couldn't see what was on my hand. I was about to explain when I felt another gush and looked down to see about 3 - 4 tablespoons worth of blood on the floor. I yelled for H to come over to me where he promptly began to panic. I sat down on the toilet and lost a bit more blood.
We quickly pulled ourselves together. I snapped a pic with my phone so I could show L&D, we grabbed clothes and a pad for me and we left for the hospital - which is about 35 minutes from my house. I called the after hours line for the OB. The on-call doctor called back and said that L&D would update her once I was at the hospital.
We finally got there around midnight and they got me into triage. They hooked me up to the monitors where Michael's heartbeat was a steady 140 bpm. What was surprising is that I was having back to back contractions with less than a minute between them. The nurses kept asking if I was feeling them, but other than the general crampy feeling I had had for several hours I wasn't really feeling anything. They checked to see if I was in labor, but I wasn't even 1 cm dilated. They started an IV to get fluids in me to see if dehydration was the problem. That strategy only lasted about 2 minutes before they decided to give me Terbutaline to try and stop the contractions. After they administered that the charge nurse called the room. I heard her saying she didn't "like the looks of this" and the nurse attending me agreed. That is when they called the on-call doctor to tell her that they thought she should come in to take a look.
Things at that point started happening pretty fast. The anesthesiologist came in and introduced himself. They ran a blood panel. They started handing me forms to fill out. The OB came in and said I most likely was experiencing a placental abruption and they were prepping for a c-section. By 1:20 I was in the OR. They were able to do a spinal block successfully and they started the surgery. H came in and held my hand. I was shaking horribly. It seemed like it took them forever to get to him, but they finally announced they were pulling him out (H watched, which surprised me). They then took him to the warming lamp and started suctioning and weighing and measuring. It was about a minute before I heard him cry. H was a little nervous about the delay on that, but I figured no one seemed to be panicking so I wasn't too concerned. H brought the baby over to me once he was all bundled up. H was teary-eyed, but all I could think about was how I couldn't stop shaking.
The nurse took H and the baby to the nursery while I was being put back together. I was nervously watching the blood pressure readings as they were really low. The lowest was 63/25. The anesthesiologist kept asking how I was feeling. I told him other than the shaking and concern for what the monitors said I was fine. He moved the BP cuff to my other arm where the numbers were better, but still really low. He kept telling me he didn't think it was reading correctly and not to worry.
Once they got me into recovery the nurse tried holding my arm still while the BP cuff was trying to work and then my BP shot up to 153/120. The anesthesiologist said he didn't believe that reading either, that my shaking was throwing off the instruments.
After a couple of minutes H and the baby came in. We were able to do skin to skin and he latched pretty quickly to nurse. The skin to skin apparently helps with the shaking and that stopped pretty soon afterward. We stayed in recovery, all by ourselves, for 2 hours before we were transported to the 3rd floor postpartum ward.
We had a few small hiccups along the way. Baby lost 10% of his weight in the first 24 hours and then another 1% the following day. The hospital pediatrician wanted me to supplement, but I said no. He was also a little jaundiced, but not bad enough to require treatment. I talked them into discharging him on Sunday with the promise that we would see our doctor the next day. Our pediatrician was less concerned with the weight loss (though he was down 13% by that point), but said we only had a few days to get him to start gaining. Thankfully my milk came in Tuesday night and he's been on a good trajectory ever since.
Thanks for reading our somewhat dramatic birth story. Here's a couple pics:
I'll be back to read and comment more in a bit - holy shiitakes meredithcarole!!! Can't wait to read his entire birth story!!! (I just had to skim a bit for now at least!)
Adorable aswedishbee!! Hope your carpel tunnel gets better soon!
And OH.EM.GEE!!!!! Pearse & Santa!!! @jimbobcooter, I die!!! ❤️

Oh my I knew this board would be popping babies! Hope we get MANY more graduates very soon!
At 8:45 pm Monday I noticed light bleeding, and started contracting within 10 minutes. They went from 8-6-4 minutes apart within 3 contractions. After an hour, they were averaging every 3 minutes and painful so we called our dr and headed to the hospital. At 10:30 pm I was 2 cm and 60 % effaced. They wanted to observe me to make sure I was progressing.
My contractions were super intense and very close together. At 11:30 I was already at 5-6 cm. They decided they better get moving as I needed antibiotics for gbs+. I was begging for "help" and finally got the nitrous oxide (laughing gas), which helped tremendously to get through the contractions.
Finally a bit after 1 am I got my epidural and had my water broken at 9.5 cm. I pushed through 3 contractions and he was born at 1:49 am! 4.5 hours from start to finish.
