Morning apparently my child and husband conspired this morning to torture me. Errm wake up up at 4:30 and never really let me sleep again. I miss the days of being a heavy sleeper lol.
Our Thanksgiving holiday was super relaxed and lovely. It was just the 3 of us so we had a small yummy feast on Thursday, went for a hike on Friday and just relaxed Saturday and Sunday.
H realized how active and into everything DD is this weekend. He was exhausted just watching her. I kind of laughed, I am glad he appreciates it a little bit now.
And I made a comment that DD was in the process of making him a present in her diaper and he didn't believe me. "there are a lot of other reasons she could be doing that" OK you go check honey and take care of the diaper. Guess who was right his doubting me leads to more dirty diaper changes for him
Eight days of work and my and H's bonding leave starts. It may be a horrible mistake to take DS out of daycare for 6 weeks to travel, but hopefully it's a good trip. And we don't have to move until the end of June so that makes things easier.

Hi ladies, we had a good week visiting the in laws last week, it was so nice to have other people who wanted to watch DD so DH and I could take a break. We didn't end up finding time for just the two of us to do something because there was so much family stuff planned but overall it was good. We got home on Friday and we're all sick. I think its just a cold but we've all got it and of course DH has it the worst (or at least is complaining the most).
I got an offer for one of the jobs I interviewed for and told them I would respond to it by the end of the day today. It was a really good offer and I know I am going to take it but its still stressful to make such a big change.
I have a really long IL story that I'll share later. Back to cyber Monday browsing and pretending to catch up on work.

aggiebug, it is very obvious and quite comical when DD is pooping now. Last week we were hanging out with DH's family and they were all cracking up every time she went. She is pretty much always on the move but she stops and sits completely still and then starts grunting. No guess work on if she needs a fresh diaper anymore, not that there would be with way it smells these days.

First day back at work and it's a Monday, so yuck. Plus it's a little sad because a coworker passed over the Thanksgiving holiday. She's had a lot of issues, so it's not surprising, but still unexpected. So work is a little gloomy today.
Finished off our drive home yesterday and we made it back early enough to go get a Christmas tree. Little Man seemed very confused, but loved when we yelled "TIMBERRRR!" when the tree fell. I hope to get lights and ornaments on it tonight.
My husband started the creepy Elf on the Shelf this morning. I really hate that thing.

That is exactly what DD does! It is so obvious I don't know how he could deny it lol.
And congratulations on the job offer! Change is always stressful, but many times so worth it. Worst case it's just a stepping stone to another opportunity.
Congrats on the job, dmorgendorffer ! Change is always scary for me, even when it's a good thing.
Back at school on this rainy Monday. Dropping out of my next theatre show today, because I can't stand the thought of the baby having super late bedtimes because his momma has tech week. A down side of my husband being gone during the week, leaving me solo parenting.
Somebody start the mommy milk Monday thread: I have things to share! (and don't want to start the thread)

I really enjoyed my week off. While it was nice to be able to spend time with DH and DS, I really liked being away from this dang pump for a whole week.
In other news, the book case that I ordered and returned to target is on sale and their cyber Monday deal works with it too. So I'll end up getting it for less than I spent before. Now let's hope they send the right color this time.

How long is it supposed to take for teeth to pop through and stop wreaking havoc? DS has been up several times and is harder to get back down for a week now. It wasn't so bad last week when we weren't working, but I'm dragging today.
Oh and I have a bad headache. Got my period Saturday, so I'm sure it's hormonal and will turn into a migraine before long.
So my sister gave V a stocking yesterday that she crocheted. It's really sweet and I love it, but I was also a little disappointed that I couldn't get him his first stocking. But then I think how my sister may never have kids herself and how sweet it was and I feel bad for being disappointed.
Also, my mom and sister were showing each other things they bought V for Christmas yesterday. This kid will be spoiled rotten this Christmas.

Sharing my inlaw story from last week - its not actually about my ILs but my SIL's ILs. My MIL invited them to Thanksgiving dinner with us and after spending sometime with them it made me really thankful for my ILs being so great.
SIL is pregnant with her first and due in April. She is really going to have her hands full with her MIL. First she announced they were cancelling all vacation and trips between now and when the baby comes because she doesn't want to miss the birth, she's been waiting such a long time for this. Then I got into an argument with her about vaccines - her basically not knowing when the chicken pox vaccine was introduced and saying that vaccines don't work since her son had chicken pox. He's 33 and had the chicken pox well before the vaccine was introduced. She also got upset when I joked to my SIL that she should drink some mountain dew before her anatomy scan in a couple weeks to get the baby moving and told her to definitely not do that.
By far the most comical part of the evening was when she got in an argument with my MIL who has chosen to be called Granny. It was at least 10 minutes straight of my MIL saying "I'm granny" and her saying "No, you are not old enough to be a granny, you're grandma" over and over again.
Finally, she was playing with DD while we were cleaning up after dinner and she carries her over to me and said "This baby is very over stimulated mom, you need to put her bed. You really need to taker her up to bed right now." It was so bizarre to be commanded to go put my child to bed. I feel pretty bad for my SIL, I know some of you have complained about your ILs but actually experiencing a crazy MIL gave me a new appreciation for it.
Eek dmorgendorffer that is a little intense. Hopefully SIL and her husband have some back bone and can set some clear boundaries it sounds like she might need them!
dmorgendorffer wtf? My brain hurts even thinking about dealing with somebody like that. Poor SIL.
I am just sitting here reflecting. I got an email reminding me my baby turns 10 months tomorrow. I am expecting the month of December to fly by, and by the time January rolls around I will be planning a birthday FOR MY ONE YEAR OLD. I have some big fat crocodile tears rolling down my face right now at the thought.

I understand. My aunt got DS his first stocking and my mom got us ones to go with it. Very sweet, but I would've preferred to get us all ones that are more our style. Which is very different from their styles. But I didn't know how to say no.
We had a pretty good night sleep. LO did wake at 4 but went right back until 6, I'll take it! DD1 woke at 5:30 crying for her makeup. It's a fake tube of lipstick she carried around all weekend. Thankfully she went back until 7:00!
LO and I made a trip to the dollar store and I got all the stocking stuffers I needed! Woowho! Shopping done!

Hi everyone! aggiebug & @holachica that's exciting news! sticks have been peed on here too. Need to wait a few days I think, everything's just messing around this month. dmorgendorffer congrats on the job offer! seamonster that sounds ridiculously exciting! Where is the trip going?
We're going to Spain for several weeks for our bonding leave.
How fun. I know you have discussed it before but I am not sure I understand what bonding leave is. You are moving correct? To a different country right?
We're going to Spain for several weeks for our bonding leave.
I'm SO JEALOUS! What parts? I LOVE Spain!
All over. Madrid, Canary Islands, Barcelona, and a bunch of towns in between.
aggiebug Right before I went on maternity leave my company announced additional paid bonding leave for both mothers and fathers. DH works for the same company and couldn't take the time until now, so instead of having a longer maternity leave I'm taking the bonding leave now with DH. We'll maybe be moving back to the US this summer.

Ahh gotcha. I am not used to the term of bonding leave since we get none here. So I had it associated with your move home not with having a baby. . I was trying to figure out what bonding was lol.
