My DS1 refused bottles when I went back to work. After trying about 8 different kinds of nipples, he decided that the lansinoh mOmma was acceptable. I've heard a lot of picky babies will take this one, so maybe give it a shot. The avent natural nipple was the runner up.
I have a LO like yours who wanted only the boob, no bottle ho pacifier. We introduced the bottle at 3 weeks and at first she refused to let it in her mouth. DH was so patient and then when she finally opened her mouth to take it, realized it wasn't a boob and just screamed. We've been working on it every day since then. It has taken a lot of patience and we've found that it worked best when she was still half asleep and maybe didn't realize that it wasn't a boob. We still don't have it down perfect and some days she will only take a little from the bottle before getting mad and I end up having to breastfeed, but by just trying once a day everyday it's improved a lot. We found the best success with the Avent brand.
Obviously this isn't a long term solution, but if you are ever in a position where he needs to eat and won't take a bottle, you can actually feed them little by little out of a small cup. It doesn't sound like it will work, but it actually does. Other options are a small spoon, or a straw. If you put a little into the straw and then let it drip into their mouths, they will eat little by little. All of these are pretty tedious, but will work in a pinch.
As for learning to take the bottle, you just have to keep trying. Eventually they will be hungry enough to take it. Keep trying different brands and never underestimate the cheap/most basic bottles. They make lots of fancier ones that are supposed to be better for breastfeeding, but my kids actually took the cheap Gerber ones better than some of the other brands.
DD absolutely refused to take a bottle. I was going back to work and freaking out because she wouldn't take one. Not even when I wasn't there. That first day, I went back to work and let my boss know that if she hadn't eaten by a certain time, I was leaving. Well, she ate perfectly fine from bottles that day. And then was fine from there on out.
Not sure what changed that day. But I was happy that I already had a freezer stash and wasn't starting with scratch.
The LC at our Moms group was telling another mom to try a cup, she said babies all over the work drink from cups. I thought that was pretty interesting.

The cup is an interesting idea. I can only imagine what his sister would do if she saw us giving him one of her sippy cups!
Oh yeah E would melt down for sure, he is suddenly very concerned with the concept of "mine".
