Hi everyone! I feel like my family has been battling continuous illnesses since just before Thanksgiving, so I haven't checked in in a while. Yay for cold and flu season.
DS is doing great. He's very good counting up to 15 and knows his letters even though he refuses to sing his ABCs. Potty training isn't happening yet and it probably won't anytime soon. He was interested for a while and peed on the potty every night before bed for weeks, but then didn't want to anymore. Since that coincided with DD's diaper rash from hell, we didn't push it. Now it's the norm again, and I'm not sure how to get him interested again.
DD is about 4.5 months. She hates tummy time and is showing no signs of rolling, but desperately wants to sit up on her own and be mobile. She's more of a snuggler than DS was, and as much as I love the cuddles it's hard having to hold her all the time. I actually threw my back out just before Thanksgiving, just by putting her in her crib, probably from having to carry her and her brother all the time.
We are loving being in our new house. So much space for the kids to run around, and DS is making use of every last square inch. We figure DD will be similar.
That's good advice about getting H to bond more with baby. It was absolutely our plan to let him help ds1 while I took care of baby. I'm certainly rethinking it now.

Name: Robert NN "Ho.bbes" Grif.fin Sin.clair Date/Time: 12/21/15 at 2:55pm Gestation: 39 +3 induced based on MFM recommedations due to age and history of poor fetal development after 35 weeks Birth Weight/Length: 7lbs 15.4 oz (if he had been .01 heavier it would have rounded to 8). 21.25 inches
birth story: induced with pitocin, started at 6:30. Dr broke the waters around 8. Epidural. born Sunnyside up after 30 minutes of pushing at 2:55. (His shoulders got stuck so dr had to help pull him out.) Ho.bbes wasn't breathing at first and gave us a scare. were able to do skin to skin after they got him stable. Had to delay BF for a little bit because of grunting. But he settled in and looked great after about 2 hours
I have taken jnetx advice and have worked on H bonding with Ho.bbes and not just taking care of DS1. It seems to be working but he is a little 'shellshocked'
And Happy New Year to everyone else!! Now for a bit of sappiness.... I found out 3 years ago yesterday that I was pregnant with DD1, at which point I started posting on The dump and met all of you wonderful ladies. I know that I don't post often these days, but I'm grateful for the support, stories, and community that we've shared. Happy 3 year anniversary. Haha.
Hi everyone. I haven't checked in lately, but it was great to come back and see how everyone is via this thread! DD is great-super chatty and super sassy. She potty trained well; right around her 2nd birthday. She is just getting over a double ear infection, but she handled it like a champ. These days she is totally into princesses and Paw Patrol. She loves turn taking games (Hulabaloo and Roll n Play) and has gotten into the habit of trying to set up her own play dates We started TTC #2 in October and were lucky to get our BFP right away. Unfortunately, we lost the pregnancy at 8 weeks. We are hopeful for the future and will start trying again once Aunt Flo returns and I can figure out what schedule my body is on (ie ovulation). I'm definitely going to try to pop in more often! Hope everyone is well.
