Anyone here getting crazy pp migraines?? Thought I was out of the woods but - surprise! - nope. Splitting headache, light sensitivity, oh and nausea. Bleh. That's been my day.

Hormones can trigger migraines. Maybe AF is coming? The neurologist I used to work for gave every migraine patient in the office 800mg of ibuprofen and a regular Coke. I hope it goes away soon!

Well we are watching the Martian and it's awesome. M is fast asleep as he is all day. Just getting himself ready for a marathon night of not sleeping until after 2. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I'll be in active get baby to bed mode in less then thirty.

We did ok... I can't remember specifics but I think I fell asleep with him on my chest in the recliner for an hour 2-3 then put him in the crib and he slept until 8? Not 100% positive because I actually slept and wasn't up every single our counting the minutes. I'm calling it a successful night haha.
DD won't sleep in the bassinet or crib; so far only have gotten her to sleep in her swing or bouncer so I've been on the couch. May try the rock and play upstairs tonight. DS used to sleep in the bassinet no problem so this is new.

P is 8 weeks old and the only time she's slept in the crib was the hospital. I can't get her to sleep in the cosleeper either. Most nights she sleeps on me after her 3am wake up.

Babies are weird. DS will sleep all day in the RnP and then was giving me problems at night so I switched him to the crib. It's inconsistent but he slept last night. I have him in this swaddle sack with Velcro and have switched him to hands in. So straight jacket it is. It seems to be better but he is so fickle. Once day something will work and then the next night its torture.

Well last night I prepared myself for an all nighter and DS delivered. I will say this, he does not scream and cry all night. He nurses, cuddles and passes out. I wait about 15 minutes and put him in the crib. He says there, sleeping and quiet for 20 minutes to and hour and then starts fussing. I let him fuss for about 5 minutes to see if it turns into crying or stops, typically it turns into crying. I go in, cuddle and/or nurse and start the cycle over again. I literally got maybe an hour sleep all night. Then, at 5am he fell asleep and didn't wake up until 9. DD usually wakes around that time as well. I prob got a solid 3 hours sleep.
I never bed shared with DD and I don't plan on starting with DS but part of me knows that if I just did I would get a lot more sleep. The other part says that I should stick it out because he's got to figure it out eventually, right?
surfmama106, can you go in after the 5 min of fussing and try and settle with out cuddling/nursing? I would gently pat on the back or gently "jiggle" LO in the crib to settle and try and leave. 5 more min of fussy, repeat, and if another 5 min of fussy then I'd nurse again. Just to try and stretch out how often I was nursing and to be sure baby needed nursing and not something else to settle/south them.

PS he sleeps all day.
Sounds like he's got his nights and mornings mixed up still! Can you try to keep him awake longer during the day? I know that is so hard but it might help!
Well last night was better. It was going the same pretty much and then finally I took the RnP into the nursery and stuck him in there with the vibrator on, and he slept. Prob about 2 hours and then woke to eat and then another 3. I'll take it. Although I don't like the idea of being reliant on the RnP for sleep bc I know they grow out of it quickly, but for now if it works I'm using it. We shall see tonight if it was a fluke or the real deal.
I am really struggling this am. Today is DH's first day back to work. DS is going to continue to go to daycare 2 days a week while I'm on maternity leave to keep up with his routine and also so there are days where I know he is getting social interaction, etc- but seeing him walk away hurt so bad. Im just having such a hard time with guilt of not being able to do things for or give all my attention to each child 100% of the time. My older daughter is very emotional/hormonal lately too and has been acting so off. I haven't showered in 2 days so that's my big goal for the day, plus lots of newborn snuggles and working on breastfeeding. Just hoping to make it through this day.
lucanjo14, I hope you feel a lot better post-shower! The newborn neediness is temporary, and I'm sure that it will all be forgotten when the two three of them are playing together!
Luca- I can't imagine keeping up with 3 kids. You're doing an amazing job! I'm still actively striving for an every other day shower so I feel your pain!
It sounds stupid but the shower thing is my biggest fear. I can't not shower. Like I'm showered every day by 10am at the latest.
Hey, if you have your one thing that makes the world seem right to you, stick with it! Don't let me deter you, haha. You'll find a way to make sure it happens every day. It's just not the biggest priority to me. I'd rather sleep.
I will say, if you do need your daily shower, try to get up before the first kid wakes up. After they're both up, my personal morning routine is pretty much shot to hell.
So we had DD's follow up weight check this am. She weighed 7lbs, and is past her birth weight of 6lb9oz, and past her low weight of 5lb15oz. I am feeling so happy and relieved she is gaining. We got the official ok to no longer wake her up to eat at night, and I'm wondering in terms of supply/engorgement if I should pump overnight if she's asleep and I'm feeling full, or should I wake her when I'm uncomfortable? Or will it just even out? So many questions since I'm a breastfeeding newb.

If you wake up uncomfortably full, you can hand express or pump just enough to get comfortable. Any time you remove milk from your body, you get the signal to make more, so if you pump at night, you will never regulate. It takes about 3 days for your body to adjust to any changes, so give it 3 days without pumping, and you should be evened out.
lucanjo14, great news on her weight! and pretty much everyone else said re: engorgement/pumping. I always used the disposable lansinoh (sp?) nursing pads at night (ESP for my over-achieving right boob) because they are suuuuuper absorbent so if you start leaking because you're full, you won't wake up soaked.
In related news I was trying to feed DS at like 6:30am and my boob was legit squirting all over the place while he was trying to latch. I just laughed and dried it off but it was definitely ready to be emptied!
