We could add a tag line to make it more clear. Like "The Snark Tank: Honest discussions about pregnancy, parenting, loss and everything in between" or something along those lines.
The only thing is not all of us are snarky.
True, but it is kind of our "thing" and what sets us apart from all the other glitter fart forums. IMO, the no nonsense approach is our selling point.
TTC #1 since August 2013 DX: Endo November 2014: Hysteroscopy, D&C June - September 2015: Clomid + Novarel + IUI #1-3 January 2017: Laparoscopy - endo removed
I also like It Takes a Forum, but that tagline is way too long to be realistic. Also, the title shouldn't have any abbreviations (only current users will get them), which makes it even longer.
Candid apples seems popular. I don't lovve it for a forum name, but could we incorporate it into a badge title or one of the titles you get after x number of posts?

This is nitpicky but I, like others also like "The Stork Myth" and "It takes a Forum" but the tagline "An Honest Take on Conception, Pregnancy, IF, Loss, and Parenting" feels like it needs a little tweaking because it sounds like a singular blog post title and not the name of a community.
What about.... An Honest Take on Conception, Pregnancy, IF, Loss, and Parenting Honest Conversations on Conception, Pregnancy, IF, Loss, and Parenting -or- Honest Discussions on Conception, Pregnancy, IF, Loss, and Parenting
To me this communicates more clearly the idea that it's a community with a variety of ideas

Can I ask what about "The Stork Myth" would deter you? I'm too much of a native speaker to see what you see so I'm curious.
I consider myself pretty good in English and had to Google what a Stork was.
I think it's an awesome concept and really is a good way of representing what we do here.
But there's a reason why most known site use easy and no too "punny" names - for easy recognition
That's really just my two cents though. I now think it is a fantastic name.
Ahh. I figured it had something to do with an englishism.
I agree that I really like The Stork Myth, but if we're relying on people to Google information related to pregnancy and find us, incorporating "stork" worries me. If I was looking for real information, I would not Google "stork" or anything even close to it. I think it's ironic (and funny!) to use two words that don't describe us at all (stork/myth being fairytales and we are realistic/scientific), but it's only awesome if you know us.
I love "It takes a Forum" and "Snark Tank," but that shouldn't be the title. I don't think we should be relying on the tagline to say what the forum is about.
I feel like It Takes A Forum doesnt say anything about babies at all. I think the name should be somewhat baby related. I know the tagline will explain it but if this site does become popular and attract more people i really feel that the name needs to be stronger and a little more baby making specific. The other 3 sites that come to mind have names that give you a better sense of what the site is about right off the bat. Just my 2 cents.
ETA joy great minds! I was typing out my reply and didnt see yours.

It's a play on the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child". I think it's clever, because I have learned a ton from the moms on my bmb.
Eta: I think it hints at the sense of community that most of us feel.
No, I get it. I just worry a bit about searchability with it. I love it as a tagline, though.

I'll embarrass myself for the sake of the site... I didnt get. I get it now that you said it though. ETA I definitely get the sense of community and support, just not the baby aspect.

+1 for The Stork Myth
It's tongue-in-cheek without sounding like snark is all we have to offer, and it expresses the struggles/realities of members (male and female) who experience loss, infertility, pregnancy, and/or parenthood.
ETA: Also sounds completely different from other sides, and with no reference to the old place. I feel like in the long-term, we will just move on and feel like we are so much more than bad apples or beyond the bump.

I think this is a great tagline, no matter what the title becomes.
This does nothing to convey our propensity for snark, but here's my first suggestion: something like "Expecting More"? Expecting more than what the dump has to offer, that's for sure.
Also, piggybacking on the bad apples theme, maybe "Candid Apples"? Candid for the snark, plus it sounds like "candied apples", which might be cool? IDK. Need moar wine.

That's exactly what I was going for. I was driving to work and thinking about this for a long time last night (80 mile drive ). I was a lurker for a long time, but I've felt included in everything. It truly does take a village, but my village was an Internet forum of a wonderfully diverse group of women from all walks of life sharing their struggles and triumphs. It really has Taken a Forum to help guide me through this difficult, yet amazing journey through parenthood. And this is how I came up with the name. The tagline is a compilation of many valuable ideas from women here who want this to be a safe haven for not only parents and the pregnants, but those who've experienced tremendous loss through their own journey.
