Hi ladies. Thanks for all your support when I shared the news of my ectopic last week. Just wanted to share a quick update:
The methotrexate didn't work. For a few reasons 1) the size of the pregnancy in my tube, 2) the numbers not dropping quick enough, 3) second offense for this tube, and 4) possibility of wanting more pregnancies, we decided to go for surgery. It wasn't an emergency, but it was an ASAP - numbers can back Thursday afternoon, they had me come immediately into the office, and the surgery was scheduled for first thing this (Friday) morning.
I've never had anesthesia or surgery before, so there was that. They did a quick D&C because my uterus was full of "junk" and then removed the tube laparoscopically. All went perfectly, and I'm uncomfortable now, but not in pain. We left A with my MIL tonight because while he tries to be gentle, he doesn't know his own strength - plus he's sick so he only wants me right now. We have S since he's still nursing, and he's pretty chill. I just can't lift him for a couple days.
So, that's it. This all sucks, but I'd rather go through this now than another ectopic down the road.
