Today is get shit done, actually that is all week. I have a lot to do this week in preparation of our trip. And my counters are covered in all the cookies I got at the exchange. We have had fun trying all the kinds.
OK and random. If you elevate the bed to help with reflux/congestion/ what not. How do you know they will sleep on the incline and not upside down or sideways?
My child is all over the crib in one night. Does your kiddo stay relatively still?
aggiebug we use a crib wedge when he is sick and he usually ends up sliding down it or horizontal by morning. But the first few hours he stays in one place.
Ahh gotcha do you put F in his crib asleep? We put DD down awake and I never know where she would fall asleep.
And get some good rest today and feel better! I am sorry you don't feel well.
It's a rainy Monday here. And it's Christmas pajama day at school. I think this calls for a nap? Kindergarten is having a Polar Express day, and Santa is right outside my classroom door. I'm totally showing my classes "Mickey's Christmas Carol" today. There's music in it, so that counts, right?
Also first AF since May of 2014. I'm not gonna die, right? 'Cause it feels like I might...

We have a rolled up blanket under the head end of Js matress permanently because he gets super congested otherwise at night. Because it's mainly postnasal drip that bugs him it tends to be ok even when he rolls down during the night. It's only the forst hour that it's really a problem. Poor guy!
aggiebug we also have a crib wedge we use. I had it to help with reflux in the early days and now I have just left it in there. B is always all over the crib so I don't know if it's really helpful or not when she's sick but it's in there anyways.
Almost done my Christmas shopping! I'm hoping DH and I can finish up Thursday night since it didn't work out for us to go last weekend. Also now that we have our tree and decorations up I plan to start wrapping tonight. If I can get all of that done this week I will be ahead of where I usually am this time of year. Yay me!

Hello! We had quite the busy weekend here.
Saturday: Craft show (super packed...way more than usual), Christmas gathering at a co-worker's and then we tried to go to the zoo lights, but when it took us 45 minutes to get halfway through the normally 8 minute trip, we turned around and went and saw Santa instead.
Sunday: Met friends at a new old-school video arcade bar and then actually went to the zoo lights. Still packed, but not nearly as bad as Saturday.
As for today, I'm kinda pissed because it's my office holiday party, but I have a doctor's appointment at the same time, so I can't go. I had mentioned this before...I scheduled it in June and they have no open appointments for the next two months. Ugh. The party's at Dave & Buster's too, so it would be fun. At least my work team is doing their own party on Wednesday as well. It's just food at the office and a white elephant exchange, but it's something. Which reminds me, I need to find something for the white elephant.

***Waiving hello from the boondocks***
Hi guys. Life is rough lately. Teething is an asshole, LO is cutting seven, yes seven, teeth right now. And not sleeping for more than 20 minutes at a shot unless someone is holding her. It makes for a very tired momma.
My sister moved in with us, temporarily, since she lost her job in September until she goes back to school in January. She helped a lot last night. I got a solid four hour block of sleep for the first time in a week.
aggiebug,on a normal day, my LO goes down drowsy, and pinwheels in her sleep. I really wanted to try elevating her head to help with teething-induced congestion, but she ended up upside down :/ so I gave up.

danitaec have we talked about your amazing dietbet success?! I feel like I need to brag for you.
I had to take a week off from my workout routine, I did something awful to my back. H practically had to take the day off on Monday...I couldn't lift DD or move very much (or quickly). I am officially old. And almost down 20lbs!
We are getting in the swing of the holidays, despite 70 degree temps in the northeast. Etsy is finally slowing down a bit and I have time to browse the internets again. I hope everyone is well!

Spent a little time at lunch walking around the little shops near my office to do some Christmas shopping and realized that this will probably be the last year I get gifts from these artsy little hipster shops since I wont be working in Brooklyn next year. I wanted to get something cute for my SIL who had her anatomy scan today and found out she is having a girl!
But then I saw the prices and remembered most of these artsy little hipster shops are ridiculously expensive and I will not pay $60 for a newborn sleeper, even if it was hand woven out of unicorn hair by a cute little Italian grandmother somewhere in Brooklyn.

I took a walk to get stamps for our Christmas cards today. This warm weather is weird for winter -- even here in NOLA.
Plans for the night:
Wrap the last few presents Finish christmas cards -- stamps; return addresses etc. Try to organize the presents by when we will need them Fold DD's laundry Keep watching Season 4 of the Wire.

I dropped DS of this morning and he was the 5th to arrive... at 9 am. Then I got am email from them that several have been sick and we're out Friday and/or today. They stud that some have RSV and double ear infections too. They also said that there was some pneumonia and upper respiratory infections too! Dang.
I hope it was the right call dropping off DS. He was still coughing, but not as bad, and his fever is gone too. I hate that I didn't accrue any PTO days while out on leave, because I don't have any days left for the year. I only have 2.5 days, which I'm using next week since daycare is closed for the whole week. Hopefully my mom will be available Monday.
modernfairytale8709 eesh that sounds exhausting. At least it's at once instead of 7 different times? Silver lining? No OK that just sucks. That is sweet that you can help your sister and that she is there to help you with DD. I hope LO is over this soon.
I have a lot to do this week instead DD wakes up from her nap inconsolable and is now sleep/ eating on me. I guess my productivity will wait and I 's snuggle.

aggiebug re: raising the mattress, we've done it a few times when DD has been congested, I put her down with her head on the raised end and I think it helped her to be able to fall asleep although she never wakes up in the same position.
However, now with her standing and us trying to do the sleep training so she is going in the crib awake there is no way she would end up sleeping in the right position for it to really be helpful.
dmorgendorffer makes sense. I just keep visualizing DD upside down and it being the opposite of effective. I think the responses here kind of confirm that is a reasonable possibility for my wiggle worm
Much like a lot of you I hope to finish with my wrapping. Then I just need a few grab bag gifts. Other than that, I just worked today. I didn't want to almost quit like last time I worked. That means it was an okay day. But the hospital is crazy, as usual at the end of the year.
modernfairytale8709 I want to like your post bc it was nice to hear from you but then I read it and I'm sorry about the teeth/sleep issues And I think I'm going to be there with you eventually bc my LO only has two teeth with none in sight...
