Hi, I'm chknma. I've mostly been spending time on PAL.
We had two early losses between DD1 (4.5) and DD2 (1.5). We are currently experiencing our third loss, a MMC, discovered last week at our 8 week u/s. My body has just started the process on its own, which I am grateful for and hoping doesn't need any further intervention. Waiting to hear from my MW about follow-up plans. I had a follow up scan for this Thursday, but I'm not sure how they'll want to time it now that it has started on its own. I loved having a MW for our pregnancy/delivery with DD2, but I'm curious how they'll respond to this loss. I'm not even sure what I expect since we've had a healthy pregnancy between losses 1/2 and now 3.
As our loss is so new, we haven't really talked next steps. I know DH is nervous about "pressing our luck" but I don't feel done. For now I want to focus on getting through this and improving my overall health. I'm prediabetic and was working on weight loss before this BFP.
Thanks for having me. I'm sorry we all find ourselves here but I'm glad to have a place where I can talk about both my losses and my living children.
As for your question about how your MW might respond as your most recent loss was after a healthy pregnancy, we are in a similar situation. My first pregnancy was a loss, followed by a healthy pregnancy (DS). Last month, I miscarried at 13 weeks. I was surprised and grateful when my OB said he wanted to refer us to an RE given out history. The criteria for RPL has changed, so if RPL testing is something you want, I would encourage you to advocate for that. We just started this process ourselves.
