We got home from seeing Paddington Bear, such a cute movie Reese did really well, she got restless in the middle but she was quiet restless and managed to make it through the movie. She LOVED Paddington antics.
We will be heading out to an early dinner, so now we are just resting the rest of the day.
So DS hasn't eaten all day, and fever is holding steady at around 101 despite alternating Tylenol and Motrin. We just moved a week ago so I haven't established a new pediatrician yet. I called his old pediatrician and the doctor left for the day but the nurse at there other office said is he is lethargic he should be seen immediately. I explained that we had moved and she said that I should bring him to the ER. I kind of feel like this may be over kill. He's only had the fever since 6 this morning and he is nursing even though not eating. I can drive to the old pedi (2 hours away) or go to urgent care locally. I don't have any experience with urgent care, will they do a rapid strep test there?
fancynewbeesly Was there anything objectionable in the Paddington movie? I wanted to take DS1 but it's PG and the reviews that I read said it wasn't for kids under 8. One woman said her 5yo left half way through in tears and her 7yo had nightmares.
Spin was really good. I cried at the end. Which is always a sign of a good workout for me. That's weird, right?
Same. I cried during mile 15 today.
I like hearing that. I never knew if other people do that. I equate it to how some people cry after sex, it's a release, so it seems appropriate to have a ton of emotions.
Okay, is it weird that my kid goes up to the teacher in our music class and gets upset if I try and hold him instead of her? I mean, she is the teacher, she shouldn't have to carry my kid around and have him lounging in her lap. He has only met her like twice now. He does a similar thing at daycare. He cries as soon as I show up to get him.
Tl;dr why does my 14m old hate me?
No, not weird. He loves music class & is engaged. (As far as the daycare crying thing, DS did this for a bit, too, but like all things kid related...it's usually a phase. Now he runs to me at pickup but the crying phase was fun for the ego.)
I mean, my almost 4-yr old snatched a drum right out from under a parent who was using it and gave the other little girl who was trying to play with her her best RBF. So there's that...
Lol I laughed when that happened, I thought it was funny. I know you guys weren't amused but all the kids act out a bit in that room at some point or another I've noticed.

Is he lethargic?
Most urgent care places will do a rapid strep test.
I am a firm believer in you do what you feel is best. I will just say that if it was me I would wait it out a bit. My teachings have always been that food is not needed when you have a fever. Liquids are. If he is drinking I wouldn't be so worried.
If he is lethargic then yes take him to the urgent/ER whichever you have access to.

cambury108 yes definitely lethargic. It's so out of character for him which is what made me call. I'm thinking maybe urgent care is going to be the way to go. He's been super cranky so I don't think a 2 hour each way car ride would be any fun.

I would take him to the urgent care, Just to be safe.
{Spoiler}In the first 15 minutes, there is an Earthquake that destroys Paddington's home in darkest Peru. His uncle gets killed in the earthquake, but it isn't SUPER obvious. Paddington finds his hat.
The antagonist is a taxidermist, who wants to kidnap Paddington bear to stuff him. So there are a few intense scenes, where obviously Paddington gets away.
Personally, I think Toy Story 3, is a lot more intense than Paddington was. But Reese is 3.5 and some of the things went over her head, and others didn't bother her.

Just drove around for 30 minutes and she's asleep finally. Today has just been one of those days that I hate that DH is gone all the time. I hate to complain to him bc I know he feels terrible about it as it is. I wish someone would go to the grocery and cook for me :/

I would go it's probably an ear infection. That's how they were in our house.

I got a 20 minute nap in and they are both still asleep. It's a miracle. I'm going to drink some coffee before they wake up. The sky is dark because of the incoming snow so I think they might sleep longer than normal.

Tit for commiseration. H and I both work and for now it's been opposite schedules so one of us is always with A, usually alone. It blows.

Thanks. I work full time and he's based in NY right now so he's gone most nights in the week. He gets home tomorrow night and I leave Monday for a work thing in NJ. He will leave again before I get back! It's been a rough few weeks.

Back from shopping. My goal today was to buy nothing black, because that's always what I buy. I ended up with four new colorful tops, beige work pants, and navy work pants that sort of look like dark denim but are a work cut. I did get black shoes, but I needed those.
I'm all set on clothes now except I need a couple more neutral tanks.

I'm ready to punch myself in the face. There is absolutely no need to get a small sedan when you already have a small sedan with no payment. MH needs to stop being distracted by shiny things and either look at a different type of car or leave the dealership.
I bought a new bathroom scale. I weigh 20 lbs more on it than on my old scale, the scale I've been weighing myself on for ten years.
The doctor's office scales always tell me I weigh more, but I was able to brush it off because my scale told me I didn't weigh THAT much. But all the scales, except my old one, tell me that I'm 20 lbs heavier than I imagined. FML.
