I would like to point out that between this thread inspiring me to research the gazillion available pack n play models, Lucie's list, and my SIL FB messaging me about baby carriers and baby wearing groups I have succeeded in getting exactly no work done today. Bring on Xmas vacation!

This is DDs room. We're going to use all he same furniture for this baby's nursery and I want to get white furniture for DD for this room.
No clue about next nursery....I suppose after we find out the sex I might get more direction/ideas
This is so beautiful and adorable!
Andrea, I would go with the closet room. The bathroom room offers too many ways for a kid to hurt themselves-- slamming lids on fingers, slipping on tiles, turning on hot water, God forbid bathroom cleaning supplies were ever forgotten somewhere accessible, which I am definitely absent-minded enough to do.
shan seriously, I might need to know where you got that piece. Like is it a print or an oil painting or what? Inquiring minds.
Erin fitzhugh Gregory (check out her fb page) she sells oil canvases and reproduction prints can be found on art websites. I can't afford an original, so we will end up with a framed print. I haven't purchased yet, but I got a thumbs up from dh.

UGH YOU ARE SO AMAZING. This piece gives me all the feels! And that's what art should do in my opinion!
cattuccino that is a really beautiful room! Was the paint done free hand or did you have a pattern? Do you happen to remember where you got that rug? I'm not having much luck finding an ABC rug and that one looks nice!

Agreed. I saw her work and knew I needed a piece. When I found out this was a girl, it was the perfect inspiration for her room. If it had been a boy, I would have used it in my master.
If anyone is still looking for inspiration, here is my DD's room. Since these photos were taken, we have painted the ceiling white, given away her changing table, and things are a bit messier.
First one is standing in the room, looking towards the playroom. Second is from standing in that doorway.

Haha shan I have the same dresser in my bedroom. IKEA for the win! I'm keeping it with the idea that it will be good kids room furniture if DH and I ever upgrade to a real bedroom set.

It's been great. The next baby will also get the ikea dresser from the same line. I'm going to get the shorter/longer dresser this time to dbl as a changing table. We had to bolt the tall one to dd's wall bc it's pretty top heavy and makes me nervous. She also has trouble putting away her own clothes bc the dresser is so tall. It's great for the price, though!

We painted the walls and all the trees and animals are just wall decals from etsy.
shan, I totally recognize that nursery like I've seen it somewhere. I know that sounds totally creepy. Did you used to have a blog? Anyways, I love her room!

I did when I was pg with dd. I abandoned it right after she was born.
I'm also in austin. Where you on theknot/nest? I was pretty active on local boards.

I love babywearing. Pretty sure I've spent more money on carriers than I did on our "nursery."
We rent so I really have put minimal time, effort or money into decorating. We lived in a 1 bedroom until DD was 9 months old so she had a crib in our room. One of our neighbors moved when she was about a month old and left a dresser on the curb which we kept for her. We used a changing pad on the dresser for changing, but honestly I've just been changing her on the floor since she was 3 or 4 months. DD and baby 2 will share a room. She'll have a twin mattress on the floor, baby will be in her crib. Dresser will go in the closet and they'll have an ABC mat on the floor I use for changing. Done! I would like to get a rocking chair but that will probably go in the living room.
I am going to make a few changes to the nursery (bedding and curtains), but I am more excited to do the big girls room. They are going to have to share a room now, so bunk beds it is. I am going to do an ikea one that I can personalize a lot. This is the bed, though I will paint the wood, and fabric the solid pieces, and the canopy will be teal. I am also going to build a base under it and add two drawers. I am super excited. I am also going to make them coordinating quilts, and make the lower bunk a curtain for privacy as well.

Send me allllll the links! I am signing DH and I up to attend a local babywearing class at the end of January. (I thought it would make more sense to try on carriers before I get too big in the belly.) The local BWI chapter hosts the class and then they have a library of carriers to try on afterwards! I AM SO EXCITE.

So cute!! I love the IKEA bunk beds, sounds like it will be a fun room for your two older girls!

DS has this bed and sleeps on the bottom and plays on the top under the tent. He loves it and it's cool and practical!
I never did a nursery. We live in a two bedroom and the basement was under construction when we had our first, so the spare room was DH's office. The room is painted light green and I put up some forest theme curtains from Ikea along with a light brown duvet cover when DS1 turned one (mattress on the floor since he hated the crib. Now the room has bunk beds and will eventually house the crib too. If we stay here long term and don't do renovations, we might give the kids the master and take the smaller room.
I'm resurrecting this. We've decided on a theme of airplanes and hot air balloons (someone else is doing hot air balloons yes? I remember reading it here....)
Anyway, DH is super excited - he used to fly. He has a wooden plane that was hung in his room as a kid we will hang. Just need to decide on colours...
BUT I found THIS today and had to get it! It's so cute!
We won't do a nursery right away. DH won't even be home the first couple months. I'll have the baby in a cradle in the master and add a small changing station, too. If baby is too big for the cradle before we move, I'll set up the pack and play. We have a foam mattress (Dream on me) that fits it and is nicer.
DS's room doesn't have much of a theme. But I chose white and aqua for the colors. We have an IKEA poang chair and the matching kids one for him. I'll probably move the big one to the master for nursing in. Other than the crib and chairs, he has a dresser with changing pad on top and I hung pegboard above for supplies. His bookcase is next to his crib. He likes to grab books and read in his crib when he wakes up.
