That's awful tj. Also how they're making it sound like it's yalls fault.
Abby legs touching the seat is not at all a safety issue and probably isn't a comfort issue. Kids just cross their legs or sling them over the side or whatever. A lot of them prefer it to just dangling feet ff.
Dear mil, the brownie bites that I made for a friend's birthday is not the same thing as fried chicken I turned down last night. I am watching calories, but a small brownie that wasn't that great will do more for my mood than processed greasy fried chicken. At least I can show some restraint to foods I know that are unhealthy, unlike you who choose to eat fried chicken, pizza etc everytime you are over.
I actually compared the Click Tight Marathon (?) The second tallest one and it isn't as tall as the Chicco or Graco 4Ever. It is only a half inch shorter than the Pavillion. I hate their marketing scheme saying it's the tallest, it's not. It's good though. So I give it a pass fir my list.
It has an overall higher height limit than the Chicco if I remember right. Since I'm one with short torso, leggy kids, that's my thing. I don't get the extremely high shell limits when I have to flip because my kid is mostly leg.
I though the main marketing push (aka what I heard locally, not the height vs a Chicco) was ease of correct install. Actually, that was the only push I heard.
They suggest 4 years since that's when their bones are Ossified more. Rear facing is safer than forward facing regardless though.
DD#2 is RF but her feet are touching the back of the seat now. Her legs are just going to continue to get more cramped. Any suggestions. She is in a Chicco nextfit. She just turned 2 in Dec. for those who can't see my tickers.
My kids put their feet up on the seat, cross their legs, hang them over the sides. No complaints from them.
I'm sorry for the asshattery going on over there guys. The previous mods for GKU are pretty pissed, too. I'm glad I chose to leave and have my account deleted.
Thanks rrrrrachel and velvethelicopters for the advice. Sad to admit it that with DD#1 we didn't know any better and put her FF just after a year (I think that was the recs back then). With DD#2 I remembered hearing that it's better to keep them RF longer. I just didn't know how long. Also good to know that the legs touching is NBD too.

True, but there is miles of difference in height when comparing to a Graco 4Ever. Like, look at this:
Sure, the Britax is at a slightly different recline, but they are all fully extended. They are very very close in height to the Chicco, which is why they are getting the pass. However, all I keep seeing from Britax is them and loyalists toting that they are the tallest out there, when it's not entirely true. I'll give them that it's a good ERF seat. I just hate all the push on them being "the tallest".

Nana, how important is it to have a tall seat? Why is it such a big marketing thing? I haven't measured DS recently, but he is probably average to below average in height for his age. I'm thinking he would probably be okay in a shorter seat, at least until he was ready for a booster seat.

The reason is that we are trying to change car seat laws, and those that use the car seats. It's to allow a child to RF as long as possible, not just too the minimum, but the whole 4 years, and then some for some kids. Most middle of the range seats can get an average kid to 2, but few can really get a kid past 2 or even 3. It's not just a marketing scheme. Really, many of us want to change the car seat laws in this country. They are so outdated.

I see.
Wouldn't the important measurement be from bottom of seat to bottom of headrest, though? Because a child's shoulders couldn't fit above the bottom of the headrest if the sides of the headrest have any rigidity. Proportionally, most children's heads will only get so big. And it just seems to me that the headrest on the 4Ever is really tall, but the bottom of the headrest is roughly similar to the other 2 seats, give or take an inch maybe -- it's hard to tell from the shadows in the picture.

I'm on side of ease of install still. I didn't try the 4Ever but the early version of it was a diabolical nightmare to install in a Prius. I really don't give a fuck how much torso room a seat has, if it's not installed right, it isn't safe.
Plus with the extremely tall seats - I want to say Peg Perego has one also, Clek Foonf, 4Ever. They're not easy to see over, so that may be a downfall. But I know my kids aren't the only ones, or even uncommon, that they hit the overall maximum of 43" or 43.99" with oodles of room in the seat. They're FF seats with that tall shell, but since strictly FF seats don't sell well, they adapt to fit them RF. Clek Foonf is the prime example, the add on base and inability to use for an infant. It's a good seat, but it was not going to keep my kids RF longer.
ERF needs the higher weight AND higher overall height limit or torso length restrictions only. A seat to 50 pounds/43" doesn't do anything if a 38 pound kid is 44" tall. Britax has seats with higher weight limits. They're not on the US market because of lack of demand. Which is a whole different issue in parents wanting to flip kids as soon as possible vs as late as possible.

I really need to become a CPST. But I just really find most seats obnoxiously hard to install, even with LATCH. So I love on easy to install way too much.

Sometimes I find the seatbelt easier than the latch.

Tell that to your WoW buddies...you know, the one we met and went to lunch with.
I kindof sortof know my husband because of WoW. I never played, but he and his best friend met my sister's friend through WoW. Then his friend dated my sister for years until about when my DH and I started dating.
