What form of BC will you use after baby arrives?

At this point I am only comfortable with the pull and pray method. I mean it's what we did for a little over a year then when we stopped that I had a hard time getting pregnant as it was. I am convinced being on the pill previously for so long had a big part in that. Since we want at least one more I don't think I will be getting on any form of BC.

here is my shameless plug for using Diaphragm/Spermicide the two combined worked really well for us and is so easy and pretty inexpensive

He'll be having it done this summer. I wanted to wait until after baby is born and summer is less busy for him at work so it works out well.

DH may also be getting one, but I have no idea when since we still haven't 100% decided, summer would be good for my DH as well since he is a teacher

My DH will be getting snipped after this baby is here. We are absolutely 100% done having children. I will probably also go back on the NuvaRing in hopes of regulating my period.

Because of the issues with my kidney, I'm getting a tubal. We're content with having two, and don't want to risk the possible complications that a third pregnancy could cause, or what could happen to baby.

Between babies we just used condoms. I didn't want to mess with BF by going on the pill and I didn't get AF for 13 months after both babies were born. The ONE time we did pull & pray, I got pregnant, I kid you not. (that was this summer, I ended up having a miscarriage). So we will use condoms in the months following the baby's arrival then decide longer-term from there. I don't really want to go back on the pill ever. Once we decide we are 100% done, H will get snipped- he hasn't fully agreed yet but he will

I have various issues when on hormonal BC, so after DS, we used FAM with condoms at certain times for backup. I'm guessing we'll do that again, or maybe DH will eventually have a vasectomy.

I am wanting to get my tubes tied. I'm only 23 and my Dr said she didn't know if that was possible because of age, but that'd we'd discuss it later. Does anyone have any experience with this? This is my second child and the father and I are no longer together. I am 100% sure I am done but not sure what to do if the Dr refuses To help!

I voted condoms. I don't like to mess with anything hormonal due to family cancer history, IUDs scare the hell out of me, and we're 90% sure (mostly for financial and age reasons) that we don't want another baby (with my almost-19-year-old adopted daughter, this makes 2 kids for me) but I'm not sure if I'll change my mind (and if I do, he'll go with me). If I do, I'll need to figure it out in the next couple years - I'm 35, he's 46, and I know he doesn't want to be really old when they're graduating high school.

I have no idea! This has been in the back of my mind since day 1. Since it was such a challenge to get pregnant this time and DH and I are open to more kids right away, I want to say I won't get back on BC. But my fertility specialist mentioned it being better to be on some kind of BC to regulate hormones in between children due to my PCOS. I have a feeling I will be asking again and doing a little more research after the baby is born to get a little more info about what the best option is for me. Personally I didn't like being off of BC - my hormones were even more crazy than they are now!

Ahhh, I don't know! I need to discuss this with DH. I was on BCP for 12 years before going off to get pregnant. I had low libido on it but no other problems. I do want to breastfeed and I understand that the minipill isn't as effective so I don't know. We need to wait 2 or 3 years before the next baby if possible due to out financial / living situation, etc. Maybe an IUD? We are so lucky to have these options!
