Sorry, I know we talked about this before but I cannot find the old thread. Talk to me about your prenatal vitamins.
I'm sick of my VitaFusion prenatals. To the point where I've skipped taking them a few times the last 2 weeks and I DNW to keep skipping.
I'm a big fan of the normal Vita Fusion MultiVites, and gummy vitamins in general but maybe all the extra stuff in prenatals doesn't lend itself to gummy?
The First Response gummys once look putrid, the Smarty Pants ones look good but dosage is 6...
I take Nature Made or Target brand. My dr told me to get one with DHA. Do you guys all take one with DHA? I used to take the gummies but they didn't have iron. I'm always changing it up!

I take the Nature Made with DHA. It's giant but has all of the things my doc recommended.
Do you know there is more than one flavor of the VitaFusion prenatals? Maybe you've already tried them both, but I ask because I was kinda grossed out by the raspberry/lemon, but the next ones I ordered were lemon/orange/strawberry and they taste much better (IMO).

The pill is HUGE, but the only one I could find that had it all.

I used to take honest company ones. Smell and tasted funny (natural/herby) but manageable.
I bought a 3 pack of vita fusion gummies and can't take them. Made me gag. I have 2 unopened bottles but even the smell makes me gag.
I'm taking materna right now because it's the only one that doesn't smell funny or make me burp funny and is one manageable pill. I was taking honest company strawberry DHA but ran out and haven't gotten more because I used to order it with the prenatal and they're sold out. I didn't take DHA with my last pregnancy.

I have tried both kinds. I hated the raspberry/lemon ones but now my hatred is building for the lemon/orange/strawberry version too.
I'm convinced the strawberry shaped ones are actually fish shaped/flavored. So I really avoid those and now that's pretty much the only ones left in my jar.
I take rainbow light prenatals. The regular ones are pretty big but manageable. I just found ones that are petit. You have to take 3 but the are pretty small and easy to swallow so I've been liking those better. They do have a very herbal smell and taste but haven't bothered me too much. They do not have DHA. I avoided it because I'm already so constipated and everyone said that made it worse. I took the same ones with my last pregnancy and the doctor sad they were fine and DHA wasn't really proven to do anythng so I didn't need to worry about it. I'm not trying to undermine other doctors just giving some people reassurance if you aren't taking it. This go around my doctor (same practice different doc) didn't even ask me about them. Guess she figured it was my second go around so I knew what to do...haha.
Mine are prescription (covered by insurance) and I was told to discard anything over the counter. Since it's easier for me to just pick up at my dr appt I didn't question but I'm sure there are plenty of great over the counter prenatals.
GOmamab15, Lol, I only just realized they are supposed to look like strawberries. I've been assuming they are fish shaped the whole time... Considering the other ones are clearly meant to look like fruit, I see now that makes zero sense. Never noticed a fishy taste though

Oh I like the Vitafusion gummies! I agree that the lemon/raspberry ones are inferior and I couldn't find the other flavor despite searching everywhere. Instead I found the CVS version, which I really think are identical. I like them. I haven't noticed a fishy taste. I'm supplementing them with easy iron, which gives 25 mg and isn't making me constipated (yay!).

I take the Rainbow Light Prenatal Petites (3x a day), plus Metagenics 800mcg l-methylfolate (the bio available form of folic acid), and Rainbow Light 250mg DHA.
Neither the DHA nor the L-methylfolate have any smell IMO. The prenatals definitely smell like that gaggy vitamin smell, but it's not nearly as bad as other vitamins I've taken in the past. I get by taking them in the morning (because I always feel better in the morning rather than at night.)
I just take the ones that my OB prescribed me when we started TTC. They're free through my pharmacy, so I'm all over that. I haven't had any trouble with them upsetting my stomach or anything. I just make sure to take them with a meal and big glass of water.
These are what I take. The key for me in the first tri was only taking one large pill. That's the only way I could get them down. The (2) fish oils are small and nbd bc they're capsule.
My acupuncturist approved these bc they're vegetarian and the fish oils also have dha. I buy both at whole foods.

This is what I have and need to add in the iron supplement. Thanks for the reminder!
