Will your SO stay with you at the hospital?

My SO has his bag packed and does not plan to leave the hospital. However, there are some bomb restaurants down the street from the hospital, so he may leave to get food haha

@holachica my DH is 6'5/6'6 and he is doing okay with the couch bed. But then again this man could sleep through anything...

DH stated that he plans to stay the whole time with me, which I'm more comfortable with especially with this being my first. Not sure who the stepsons will go to - going to depend on when LO decides to show up. If it's during the week older ss will go to my SIL's most likely since she lives only a couple minutes away and he can still get to school and younger ss will stay with his mom and my IL's will probably pick him up to visit us in the hospital. We also have friends who will stay at our place to watch the animals - so at least we have that figured out haha

My husband is staying for at least the first 2 nights. We have my sister to watch my two older children.

Depends on when I deliver. If it's during the night he'll stay, if he comes during the day he'll head home to put DS to bed and sleep at home. Last time he stayed at the hospital both nights but couldn't sleep because of the sucky couch. He barely reacted to DS waking and crying because he wasn't used to it.

DH stayed with DS, but he probably won't this time because he's going to be trying to keep DS on his routine.

DH hates hospitals. He didn't stay overnight with the first and he won't be staying this time as we really don't have anyone to take DD. The bonus to that is that I can easily talk him into bringing me yummy treats!

For DS (our first), yes.

For DD, we decided it was best that DH put DS to bed and stay home. It was hard not having DH there and my recovery this time has been easier (vaginal births without epidural both times).

Both nights DD cluster fed and I asked the overnight nurses for help. If they hadn't taken her, I wouldn't have gotten any sleep. I got about 3 hrs sleep with their help.

This is our first so he will be staying unless his back can't handle it. He will have to leave to introduce the dog to LO scent but our wonderful neighbors are planning to feed and walk him for us.

My FI will be there no matter what. DD's will stay with grandma and SS's will go with their mom/grandma for a few days while we're in the hospital. My FI was in A-school then deployed for the birth of his sons so he's been pretty insistent that he's not going to miss any bit of this birth now that he's out. I don't mind it at all.

The husbandman will be staying overnight with me the whole I'm there. But this is our first baby so we don't have other kids to worry about.

I think the plan is for DH to stay with me, but if he's having trouble sleeping I may send him home (and he may refuse ). We'll just have to see.

I'm on the fence. Dd has never stayed the night anywhere but we have both families here to watch her if needed. I'm going for a vbac so I'm hoping I'm not in the hospital 4 days this time. If I end up with a section I'll need dh with me, if not I don't mind him going home

I'm one needy FTM. DH is definitely coming to stay with me at the hospital. He'll be granted outing privileges in order to bring me the food that are on my postpartum carbs/treats inhalation list. Although, my mum is coming in next week, I haven't figured out what to do with her if I pop after she gets here...

It's so good to hear everyone's thoughts. I don't know why I didn't even think about DH potentially going home for one of the nights (I've been stressing about our toddler sleeping somewhere else). I think we'll end up playing it by ear too now.

He isn't staying overnight, since hes trying to keep DS close to his regular routine. BIL who is staying with us has been watching DS while DH is at the hospital with me (l&d, and a good portion of the first day). Today DH came and visited us for a few hours, then headed home.

But when DS was born, DH stayed the entire time with me save for food runs. (Hospital only provides meals for mom)
