Since apparently you all hate the term "green"
If it makes you healthier, lowers your stress level while saving you money, positively impacts the environment, or was a diy project that turned out totally awesome/went completely wrong then post it here!
After work the other day mh had convinced me to pick up some fast food for dinner (easy, cheap, etc). But I felt guilty on the way home, called him and said I refused to feed M (and us) that crap
So I stopped at the store for veggie burgers, fries and the fixings to make fake Big Macs. They were so yummy! And homemade. Yay:)
Pretty sad that all I've got is "I kind of cooked dinner" lol
ETA and we NEVER get fast food. Like not even once a year
We used to have a good one, but when we moved states it couldn't come with us. Then with all the upheaval starting a new one kept getting put off...but last week we finally got it going. I can't wait to start baking our own bread again.
Something that has made me feel better is watching makeup tutorials online and trying out different makeup techniques. I realized the other day that I have been doing my makeup the same way forever. I need a change. And I am liking the way my face looks.
Oh and I stopped shaving my legs. Probably until summer or overnight getaway w/ DH. My hair is so soft/fine and blonde that it really doesn't matter anyway.
Not necessarily green unless you consider having to buy less razors.

I have been doing my makeup the same way for more than 10 years now. Is that a bad thing?

I made one of DH's old dress shirts into a peasant dress for DD. It turned out pretty cute. Also I finally made unpaper towels from FST and scrap fabric. Let's just hope DH starts to use them.

Not sure how this group feels about meat, but I switched from dried beef liver to local, frozen, grass fed liver. It's cheaper, I feel better physically, and I get to support a local business.

What did you do with the dried beef liver?
I stock up whenever I see good sales on organic, humanely raised meat. I just found a place to buy local, free range chicken, and I think the price is pretty good so I'll be shopping there more often!
Another thing we've done recently is sign up for a dairy delivery service. Our neighbors have the same company, and we had heard great things. They use glass bottles for all the milk, which they take back each week to sterilize and reuse. They own their own cows, and while they haven't gotten certified organic yet they are grass fed and lead mostly organic, pastured lives. So we get fresh, practically organic milk in reused glass bottles, the delivery truck was already coming to our street and we don't ever need last minute runs to the store to get just one gallon of milk. I love it!

When I bought the dried liver it came in nice little capsules. My midwife said that I was showing symptoms of a vitamin deficiency for a vitamin that would be destroyed in the drying process (maybe K2?) so I switched to the frozen stuff.
I am SO lucky when it comes to chicken. My next door neighbor raises chickens in roomy chicken tractors. Since she gets a massive discount on feed through her dad's work, she charges about half what other people around here charge for the same type of chicken.
