So sick of feeling sick! I'm almost half baked and still have constant nausea! I am on diclegis but my MW suggested I try weaning by doing a half pill every other day, which means every other day I feel disgusting. Today I feel disgusting

I haven't felt lopsided at all, but found out today that the baby is sitting breech currently, so maybe that's why. I remember later in my first PG when DS was bigger, stronger, and moving more I could totally feel when he was all on one side vs the other and when he was stretching out.
origamimommy , I hope your day gets better and I vote for ice cream as your wine substitute. You've earned it. As an aside, stories like this make me wonder whether I'm ready for this. That's what I love about TCF and J16, you ladies have kept it real! In my everyday life, nobody talks about what parenting is really like. As a FTM, I truly feel that one of the benefits of being on this BMB is hearing from you all about the everyday trials, tribulations and rewards of being a mom. From the fevers, black eyes, stomach viruses and broken bones, to the toddler sassiness (or wittiness depending on who you ask), to the hilarious "kids say the darndest things" moments, I don't think I've ever had a more full picture of motherhood.
Parenting is a roller-coaster for sure. I wasn't really prepared for it with DS, and all the emotions that comes with it. One day you are madly in love with this little person, and the next you are imagining walking outside and throwing them in a pile of snow and locking the door. Or maybe its just me.
Yes, except we don't have snow. But YES! But last night he told me I was a nice mommy and that I was the best mommy in the world, and my heart melted, so those times make up for most of the heathen behavior times.
I had a semi awkward interaction today with the lady who works at the front desk at DS's daycare, who is pregnant and in her third trimester. She is mostly at the desk and only occasionally is back with the kids.
Well today she informed me that I should ask my OB about getting blood work to make sure that I didn't get HFM from DS. She told me that she just got her blood work today. I then asked her if her sons have HFM also. She then said no and that my DS is the only kid she knows right now who has it.
I guess I kinda feel bad for her getting this testing, but isn't this odd? FTR, I'm not going to ask my doctor about this. I have zero symptoms of HFM.

IDK, I think lots of pregnant women have a "share everything with all other pregnant women" mentality. I had a pregnant coworker tell me not to eat sandwiches provided at a work lunch. I ate them anyway and survived. In these situations, I totally turn to google to decide what the risk is and what my comfort level is and then act based on that.

Oops I should have written that more clearly. I don't think the odd part was saying something to me. I thought it was kinda odd that she got tested without any symptoms because my DS, whom she has very limited physical contact with, has HFM.
babyzebra, I think it was very odd that she got tested for HFM disease since she's a receptionist and had little contact with your child. It would be understandable if it were his direct care provider who changed his diapers and regularly interacts with him. Perhaps she had phantom symptoms, or actual symptoms (obviously caused by something other than HFM) so she asked for a test. We all know first hand how neurotic pregnant women can be. Maybe she's a germaphobe or suffering from pregnancy paranoia. I wouldn't feel bad though if I were you. HFM disease is common in children, as is ringworm, pinkeye and a host of other illnesses. She's being a drama queen.

HFM isn't dangerous in pregnancy, and most adults (pregnant or not) who get it will have minimal symptoms, if any. The only possible concern is that if you're infected when you have a newborn then you could pass it to the baby - so maybe that's what she's concerned about if she is close to her delivery date. It's SUCH a common virus that it's kind of impossible to totally prevent exposure to it though. Babies with older sibs, babies who are in daycare, etc are all at risk of getting it.

DS was sent home from daycare sick today. They told me he had purple lips, rattley/semi-labored breathing and a "high fever". His fever was only 100.4F when they took it and was only 99.6 by the time we got to see a doctor. He only had a bad cold to, I'm so pissed that they exaggerated so badly because I freaked out and left work bawling thinking something was horribly wrong with my baby. Even the doctor felt bad for me because he could tell I was panicked when we seen him.
Since coming home other than no nap DS has been completely fine. He's now sleeping on me and I'm enjoying the snuggles. I plan to wake him in about an hour or so to give him some more meds and then I'll put him to bed. He will be home with DH tomorrow but will go back to daycare on Thursday. I'm mentally exhausted and can't wear for Friday to come.

I'm sorry they made him sound so sick. That would freak me out too. Our daycare has a tendency to exaggerate as well
lakecountrygal I'm sorry that they had you so worried! I'm glad though that he's not super sick. I would have been tempted to get a letter from the doctor stating your DS's diagnosis and that he was fine to go back to daycare tomorrow (as long as he is fever free of course). I hope he is on the mend soon!

Thanks ladies! We've been snuggling and he's sleeping on me (has been since 8). Just taking Tylenol and Motrin alternating every 4 hours, he's been fine other than not as many wet diapers. Because he could produce tears though the doctor wasn't worried and he's been drinking water when he's awake.
