Some (all?) balance bikes dont even have pedals! They just move themselves with their feet on the ground. It helps them learn to balance on a bike before using pedals. (I think ive seen some with pedals too)
Even worse then. She only sits on her riding toys now and goes backwards a little but never pushes forward
J doesnt push himself on his riding toys yet either. I try to show him but he doesnt move his feet to try. He prefers me pushing him.
How necessary are rain boots? Someone posted a pair of purple toddler Kamik rain boots brand new for $15. I'm tempted to buy them because they are so cute but I don't know how much use I'll get out of them.
LO's school takes them out on walks rain or shine, and LO does have a serious love of puddles, so we got some.
I got a pair of bogs (they're on sale for $25 at REI!). They're rated down to 14F, and also serve as rain boots. LO's been wearing them all winter and since we bought them a little big, I know he'll be wearing them for a while.
E wi be getting a balance bike for his 2nd birthday. I hope he digs it!
Cool! KJ has a radio flyer but I really want her to have a balance bike.
LO got a balance bike for his first birthday (his great-grandma offered him a cozy coupe, but we suggested this instead since we don't have a lot of room for the cozy coupe). It took him a while to grow into being able to stand over the seat, but he enjoys just walking it around. He's only very recently started actually sitting on the seat and scooting himself. He mostly just stands over it and walks it around.

I would skip them. KJ wouldn't be out in the rain much at this age.

workinit my friend is moving to Jackson. Anywhere near you?
It's probably an hour and a halfish west. I drive through when I head to Kalamazoo or Chicago. I've been there once! I actually did my internship at the Jackson State Penitentiary. Totally creepy...
limabeanmom Yay 6 weeks!! I know this was from hours ago, but Y might have her days and nights mixed up, but 6 weeks was when my LO hit a growth spurt and we started getting into the "witching hour" fussiness. From about 6-8 he was inconsolable for a week or two and then things started to even out a bit more.
Absolutely thatblondie!!! If you are here for a few days we need to meet in Ann Arbor and go to the kids museums! It's probably half way between here and there! Either way I would totally go to Jackson!
