This will sound ridiculous, but I don't use my dishwasher.
I only put certain things in the dishwasher. We never have enough forks, so I always hand wash them. And I hate unloading the dishwasher! Just like putting away clean laundry.
We only run our dishwasher every few days (when we are running out of dishes), but we still have a ton of dishes to wash ourselves every night. Between all the tupperware, kids plates (which we only have one for each), sippy cups, pots/pans, it seems like we always have a full sink.

Ditto. I wash quite a few things by hand because we reuse them so often and our dishwasher is rarely full, unless I make a meal with a ton of pans. I'm so used to washing things by hand I almost forget to use the dishwasher. I need to use it more often, but I also hate unloading it, drying everything off, and putting dishes away.

Pretty much for this reason. We don't have that many dishes and I wouldn't run it if it wasn't full. I just wash as we go and it really doesn't take that much time. If I waited until the dishwasher was full Henry would be drinking out of my wine glasses (because for some reason I have a million) and using his hands instead of utensils (not like he doesn't even when he has a fork but I digress) and it is just easier to wash a few dishes by hand as they come up.
I'm jealous of you people who don't have to run your dishwashers everyday. There's just too many people in my house. We'd be hand washing all the time. There are certain things we handwash but by the time we get done with dinner, it's a full load so we run it.
My H uses enough cups/glasses in a day to fill it half full. The plates and bottles take up the rest so we run it every day and it is full. Maybe we use too many dishes.

I run my dishwasher at least once a day. I use a ton of shit when I cook. We eat 90% of meals at home and I make them. Still use the sippy for outings or if he is outside of the kitchen. Also Gage now has to have all adult sized utensils and bowls..... its been fun.

This is my MIL with dishes. She stays with us Sunday-Wed when she's off and I have never seen one person use so many dishes at home alone. I can be home all day with E and A and use like 3 dishes. WTF.
Joey totally uses the take & toss sippy cups and straw cups. Usually the sippy cups lately and has a fit if they're all dirty and I get a straw cup down. We have quite a few though (like at least 5 sippy tops) and I throw them in the dishwasher which gets run probably every other day. Again though, we refill and re-use her cups though, so she can use the same water cup for 3 days... Milk, sometimes 2 days.
Also, I know she can drink or of a regular cup, she does at daycare, but she almost never uses then at home. We have some plastic kid cups too, but she uses them probably twice a month if I'm lucky...
